Fresh out the International break I was hoping we could just steal a win, anybody expecting us to thrash SGE was just being unrealistic, its unfortunate but its bleeding obvious that no team is going to back down from us just cos we are Bayern Munich.

We could certainly play better but I wonder why both Müller and Lewandowski are so terribly out of form. The entire team is also playing without a definite shape, sloppy and the midfield not protecting the back 4 well enough

Its a pity that Vidal and Javi are out for a significant period and it could not have possibly come at a worse time. I think Carlo should strongly consider going back to 4-2-3-1. Xabi could use some benching as he has been our worst midfielder for a while now

We really need to move on from these oldies next summer

Ahh. E go hard oh. Plus JJ Watt isn't looking like winning a ring anytime soon. I mean with all the big stats at some point you have to get to the Superbowl. Its a rarity but we've seen teams get there with sub-par Quarterback play like JJ has to do right now (Broncos this year, Ravens in 2000 or was it 2001). So for now not likely

And if JJ Watt's back issues persist ( as they often do) his performance might become limited. To even be mentioned in the same sentence as the Minister of Defence he has to do what he has been doing for even longer and pass legends like Bruce Smith and Deacon Jones.

Should have rested a bit last season. He played hurt for the most part and it rolled over sort of

The biggest issue with JJ I think is his lack of a marquee game in the playoffs, it must be said though that he has had some very terrible QB's to play with (Schaub, Hoyer and Osweiler abi na rottweiler) these guys put an incredible amount of pressure on the defense with their incompetence. I mean just look at what is also going on with Drew Brees and the Saints

Of course you are a retarddd that is why you will make such morronic statement, John terry will not make top 20 defenders of German nationality and that is a fact. A country that produced Beckenbauer, Sammer, Kohler, Aughentaler, Brehme, Breitner, Boateng, Lahm Hummels etc .

Boateng is god to Terry and all his countrymen. That is why he has won everything all English defenders will kill themselves for.
Not forgetting Schwarzenbeck amongst many

Apoche cra cra is the biggest ret@rd in the history of this forum. Only an uninformed yob like him would open his mouth to vomit such megedefegede.

Even Emeagwali cannot calculate the throughput with which his rancid apoche cra cra brain keeps streaming petabytes upon petabytes of stewpidity on this forum.

That pitifully overrated John Racist compared to defenders who helped their nation to 14 major Finals. Lmao smh

BELOW IS a response from Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed the theory that the Premier League is the most intense league in the world.

Many in England have often claimed that when it comes to intensity, the Premier League outrivals La Liga and the Bundesliga.

However, having worked in both Spain and Germany with Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively, Guardiola believes there is little truth in that idea.

"I hear a lot of times about the intensity of the Premier League when none of you have been in La Liga or the Bundesliga to know how it is," Guardiola said.

"The problem here is maybe that there are more games but the way that they play in Germany is... [whistles]... it's amazing. I think you have to have respect for the other leagues, how they play and the way they play.

"Of course Barcelona is special in how they play, a machine. Three amazing players in front, good counterattack, the way they build-up, so when they win 4-0 it's because they deserve to win 4-0.

"I think every league has its points but especially it's the quality of the players and that's the reason why. In Spain in the last seven, eight, nine years they're winning or in the final of all the European competitions because they play well because they have good players. That is the reason why.

"Here there are more games to play, but the intensity in Italy, in all of these places, is the same."

So the midfield was to blame for boatehand's poor defending in his last two matches against athletico and frankfurt?. I thought you have gone to format your brain when you took a break from here. You came back as a more terribly damaged product. You need deliverance.

Player ratings: Robben and Boateng stand out in average team performance

An average performance from Bayern as a team, with a few standouts in Robben and Boateng
, saw them draw 2:2 against Eintracht Frankfurt.
====================================================================================
Excellent

Arjen Robben

The Dutchman was hard-working and energetic from the get go and to absolutely no one’s surprise, his killer left foot was effective once again in scoring Bayern’s opener (11’). He was a constant threat to the home side either directly in front of goal, or as he fed the ball from the wings to Müller in the centre.

Jérôme Boateng

He was sublime and effective in defending the opposition’s chances, making some fast and efficient challenges. Boateng was a little slow as Eintracht scored their second but otherwise displayed an impressive performance with important clearances and tackles made.

=========================================================
Great

Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich gets an A for effort, constantly knocking on the mouth of goal in the first half and even providing some crucial passes such as one to Coman (54’) which was only slightly off the mark. His goal (now a norm) came when he scored with his left foot after receiving the ball from Hummels (61’), powerfully firing home to give Bayern the lead again.

Philipp Lahm

Lahm looked like he hadn’t aged a bit as he was making intelligent runs, having a busier-than-expected afternoon. He was important in marking Eintracht’s attackers, keeping close to thwart their chances. Though he was a little slow, the captain wass intelligent in knowing where to be at what moment in the game. He did not really go forward a lot as the opponents kept him busy at the back.

Kingsley Coman

The French international sped forward a lot but seemed a little bit shaky, and therefore a little unpolished in front of goal. He did work hard in trying to shoot but somehow kept missing the target, just by a fraction each time. He was subbed off after Huszti received a red card due to an argument that broke out between Sanches and Huszti – and the coaching staff. Lewandowski came on to replace him and to add more precision in attack.
========================================================================
Good

David Alaba

Alaba defended alright, and made some good runs forward, but was quieter than usual. He stayed busy on the left flank, trying to recover the ball away from Eintracht, although that was no easy task today.

Thiago Alcantara

Most of his time was spent in midfield, with 38 successful passes out of 44 in the middle third. He did not make many tackles but he did have 7 interceptions. The young Spaniard moved the ball forward, often passing it to Robben in an attempt to set up attacks, but these was not always fruitful. He worked hard but was a little quiet today as Eintracht piled on more pressure than the team was anticipating.

Renato Sanches

He came on in the second half for Alonso and made some nice tackles. Sanches also pushed the ball forward, trying to catalyze Bayern’s attack.
============================
Average

Manuel Neuer

He was forced to make an important save or two, but there were times when it was a little close for comfort. Alex Meier nearly scored a header before Neuer clawed it off the line, and on two occasions, the ball ended up in the back of the net.

Thomas Müller

He started off bright, but seemed to get more frustrated as time went on. Müller was constantly going forward, sometimes in the middle and sometimes moving into the wings to try his hand (foot?) at providing assists. He just could not create any real chances, however.

Xabi Alonso

Alonso’s presence was felt immediately, as he was very important in moving the ball forward and retaining possession; however, he looked kind of rusty. He was a bit clumsy as he got a yellow (20’) for a tackle and was a bit slow, too. The Spaniard was subbed off after the first half.

Mats Hummels

Hummels was okay but a little slow to defend dangerous opportunities, such as when Eintracht Frankfurt got their leveller a few minutes before the half-time whistle. He got a yellow after a rougher-than-intended tackle. However, Hummels did bag an assist when he went far forward and passed the ball up to Kimmich, who scored Bayern’s second goal (61’).

Rafinha

The Brazilian came on to replace Robben (76’) but did not have too much impact in the very fast-paced, game where strength and concentration were needed. He did complete 100% of his passes, sending the ball backwards to try and stop Frankfurt’s attack.

Tactical analysis: Bayern’s and Hummels’ defensive lapses at Frankfurt

Often bailed out by Jérôme Boateng, FC Bayern’s back line had a poor game at Frankfurt on Saturday. Mats Hummels was the main culprit on the day.

Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by raumdeuter: 4:56am On Oct 17, 2016
Hummels’ mistakes

While I am a fan of Hummels and recognize that he worked hard on Saturday, I believe he also made positioning mistakes in the penalty area.

A fair few people pointed out that David Alaba played out of position during the match, but do they understand why he did so? Answer: because Hummels did not do his job properly. This invited Frankfurt to attack with confidence.

Check out the play below. Normally, Jérôme Boateng covers the man in the middle. Hummels is standing back instead of taking on his man, so Alaba does that work for him. This leaves a ball carrier with space to make a perfect cross for a scoring chance in the air.

Two minutes after that, Hummels made another coverage mistake. A glaring one! The ball is crossed in the area for Alex Meier, who jumps up for it. Hummels has his back turned on the play and Meier has a free header, although Mats had a fair bit of time to react.

Below, Boateng and Hummels are not in sync at all. Boa is tracking back but not aware of Meier on his right. Xabi Alonso wants to cut off the pass, but he will not. Hummels should be going back to take on the free man, but he seems more worried about who is ahead of him.

This is not to say that Hummels is the only one who did not play his best game. Look at Philipp Lahm getting owned while Boateng and Hummels are wayyyyy up the pitch. The last man is Alaba, who is at least showing up to do something about it.

Back to Hummels. I believe he is at least partly responsible for the second goal scored by the Eagles. A coverage problem once again. The man in the box should be picked up by Boateng. Meanwhile, Hummels has to challenge the ball carrier for Alaba to cover Chandler on the left flank. This isn’t happening, so Alaba is in the middle with an eye on the ball and Chandler is free to do whatever he wants.

Even late in the game, when you would have expected the Reds to press due to the even scoreline and man-advantage, their defending remained a question mark. Below, Lahm is a tourist while a cross is going in the box. He should normally get to it, but the man behind him will beat him and threaten Neuer.

That is an analysis of the game from a Bayern Blog above

Regular readers here are probably wondering why the useless airmark has not gone to pull his goal.lol ratings as usual, It was because they dissapointed him

Every analysis Airmark made about the game was shown by everyone as wrong, while he praised Hummels every sensible analyst out there acknowledged that Mats had a poor game, while he was trying to blame Boateng, every analyst there praised Boateng as the best player in our defence

Below everyone with a functioning eye would see

Hummels: "Not the best defensively

Boateng: Led by example and a reason why he is noted as one of the best defenders in the world

Boateng didnt cover the player in the box, Hummels didnt challenge the ball carrier that was why the blame on the goal was not fully on Hummels but partly both of them plus the midfield who allowed the through ball and the free Chandler on the right

If your defensive partner is having the type of horror show Hummels was having defensively then there is only so much you can do. One will eventually slip through

Just like when a defender is expected to cover for John Terrible daily somedays chances will always slip through

Looks like Embolo season might be over as his ankle was broken by that Greek defender

the Greek butcher not only broke Embolo's ankle, but also his calfbone and then tore several ankle ligaments on top. Schalke is looking at a 4-6 months recovery period

Now Schalke has to depend on Huntelaar for goals also Meyer is misfiring and Weinzerl still has to realize that he cant keep a clean sheet in the league with Baba Rahman

Of course you were blind to Hummels being planted on his backside by a washed up Fernando Torres of all people that almost led to an Atleti goal. Less than 10mins after he came on
