Please dont take us back to Agaugust days when things were just made up. RSA Airborne Commando? Oh okay

I could not careless about his title or what you South-Africans call him. It lays to waste your ignorant argument, that's an RSA commando on duty and online.

This argument is done.

No you are done. You were doing perfectly fine before you felt the need to impose yourself. Not caring less what his military title is & declaring this argument over....um....zero logic. He is not a SA special forces operator. That is the end of it. Paratroopers are not special forces. Accept your mistake. And move on.

It was never for debate because there was none. SASFB don't pose with their weapons, assault systems and faces on Facebook, Skyscrapercity or Nairaland.

He's not a "commando".

You didn't prove anything.

You must be more worried about the fact that a terrorist group was capable at some point to have heavy vehicles, heavy artillery, bases, launch attacks etc within the boundaries of your border. List other countries where that has been possible, then you can clearly see how that terrorist group ranked your defence force in terms of competition. Whatever the excuse may have been (no equipment, no political will, corruption). Which well trained force would have let things get out of hand like that?

Although Nigeria has definitely pushed them back and virtually demolished them in the past year or so.

exactly! the guy should have posted his SF (guy with a dog) pic, given a brief description and left it there, but he had to throw shades and link hiding identity to professionalism and to be honest i only got involved because some razclat with internet access called our guys Facebook boys in military camo.

20 Nigerian soldiers killed in Boko Haram attack in Borno State Home / Africa / Nigeria This file photo taken on March 25, 2016 shows Nigerian army soldiers on the back of a vehicle in Damboa, Borno State, in northeast Nigeria. (Photo by AFP) The Boko Haram Takfiri terrorist group claims it has killed 20 soldiers and wounded dozens of others during an attack on military positions in northeastern Nigeria. The casualties occurred during "fierce clashes" on Sunday when the group "stormed a joint position of the armies of Nigeria and Niger" in the town of Ghashghar in northeast Borno State, according to a statement released by the terrorist group. A community leader in the area confirmed the assault, saying Boko Haram militants fired rocket- propelled grenades at the soldiers who were taken by surprise. “Boko Haram launched an attack with heavy guns and rocket-propelled grenades on the soldiers. The attackers came in eight vehicles," said the leader, who was speaking on condition of anonymity. "The soldiers suffered huge casualties because they were taken off-guard. They never anticipated such an attack," he added. Boko Haram started its campaign of militancy in 2009 with the aim of toppling the central government in Nigeria. The violence sparked by the group’s militancy has so far killed more than 20,000 people and forced over 2.7 million others from their homes. Many blame corrupt officials in Nigeria’s government and army for the continued militancy, as recent reports say Boko Haram is receiving some of its arms and ammunition from corrupt Nigerian officials. The militant group has expanded its terror activities to Nigeria’s neighboring countries. Troops from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger have been battling the terrorists in recent months. The group has pledged allegiance to the Daesh Takfiri terrorists operating mainly in Syria and Iraq.

Oga Henry240

The US Elite forces you posted here are not posing for selfies, they were shot by someone with military clearance to do that... If you see them close, they'd be wearing beards with eyewear and they'll look totally different when they're on the US streets.

As far as photos go, there's no formal structure on how your Ops pictures are taken and shared. Yes the level of professionalism with the Recce is far ahead from any elite unit you parade. In everyone of the pictures you post, I see individuals not soldiers. Henry240, check Kenyan, Botswana, Senegalese and even Ugandans they look like soldiers NOT Facebook boys wearing military uniform.

Go back to the thread, re-read, assimilate and make a comment. Don't just post whatever fart comes into your head. Saengine said, you never see faces.

If you want to see Nigerian Spec Ops training, hop on a flight go to any of the multiple CTCOIN/COIN training centers in Nigeria. What you feel or don't feel is entirely your problem.

No sir, I don't even consider the Recce to be a professional fighting unit, to be honest with you.

There are thousands of Nigerian SF photos shared, the title of this thread is also clear (African Militaries/ Security

IEDs? We survived anti tank land mines and learned to walk over them and wrote books about it, we survived Cubans and T62s 300km inside enemy territory with nothing but excellence. We downed Hinds, MiGs decorated a foreign landscape with their own scrap metal. Come back and let's talk military professionalism when your airforce boys encourage elite fighters trained in Russia then we will talk. Till then go fight Koran reading people.

Maybe this video can lull certain sulking people to sleep.

Nigerian Ships patrol as far as the Coast of Equitorial Guinea to Senegal. That's significantly larger than South-Africa's coast.

Nigeria currently operate, NNS Thunder, NNS Okpobana, NNS Prosperity, NNS Centenary, NNS Ologbo, NNS Nwamba, NNS Ohue and NNS Barama have also joined in. That is 8 ships for patrol duties. With NNS Unity to join the fleet, we have 9 ships. How you came by 2? There is also the Falcon eye and RMAC systems which compliment Naval patrols. Yet the Nigerian navy has consistently said the service requires more ships.

It simply goes to say our currently available ships are not sufficient for naval duties.
Read what I said bro!! 80-90m the only dedicated OPVs of that size are nns centenary and unity(I did mention them complementnig nns thunder and okpabana). The rest are 65m or smaller, which would fall into my IPV category.

Thus 4-5 OPVs and 6 IPVs would be ideal, that's about 10 dedicated patrol vessels of which around 4-5 would be active at any given time.

Scrap the rest and use the money saved on maintanance to acquire 2 Frigates and 2 Sub's. Now you have a legitimate blue water navy.

Lastly SAN also patrols the Mozambican coast and to some extent the Namibian coast

Yes we are cowards
Yes we can't fight
Yes our country is over run by Boko Haram

Nigerian SF in Blackwater? Haha are these guys not completely delusional and out of touch with reality? Your country exports mercenaries in container loads it's almost like a culture !

I really wonder if you southies maintain this same dirty and appalling attitude on other international forums, maybe it's your delusional sense of superiority over the entire continent that make you all act like irritating little kids. Simply put you all think you're better than the rest of Africa.
