Op, don't mind what anyone else says. Your peace of mine is what is important. Feminism is about equality. However, each family should define what their equality means. According to Adieche, equality is when there's no resentment left, and not necessarily 50-50. I agree with her. I am sure that even if your wife still does more chores than you in the home, she wouldn't resent you because she doesn't feel under pressure. God bless you and continually give you a happy family. 2 Likes |

I wonder why people take Buhari's comment "My wife belongs to my kitchen. Living room and the other room" like they don't know the meaning of the statement. In his context, belonging to the kitchen doesn't mean you she'll be working 24/7 in the kitchen. He even explained further that the responsibility his wife is to take care of him. Pls. isn't that true? If you think that's not true as a wife don't take care of your husband, some girls are out their waiting to take extra care of your husband. |

ItsQuinn: it's only those that have tasted the bitterness of bile will only appreciate the sweetness of honey secondly, people don't naturally appreciate what they have until they lose it a travel to other African countries made me to understand that Nigeria men are the best in taking care of women in sub Sahara Africa, at a mention that you are a Nigerian is all that's required to get yourself any beautiful lady of your choice but come down to Nigeria you'll begin to see our women with their dramas seriously, Nigerians are one of the most traveled in the world and as a result larger percentage of these men have married foreign ladies who are naturally humble, as a result creating unavailability of husband's back home 4 Likes |

Esetim: On this emphasis (working together ) is where people get it wrong cuz we have house wives who doesn't contribute a dime in the house but in a situation where the wife also work and take up some financial responsibility...ah ah . the house chores should be a team work |

nautybride: The one about a man washing plates is a popular Christian joke, that's why I put a smile beside it. However, we can look at the character of Christ, who is the head of the Church even as the husband is the head of the wife. All He does is to make life easier for us. He loves us even when we don't love Him and He gives us gifts even when we don't deserve it. He washed His disciples feet without ego or complaints, although that is what servants should do for their masters. He is our Head, not because He can control us, but because He is willing to give up everything just for us to have a better life. He took some serious strokes of whips just for our healing (1 Peter 2:24), He lived a poor life so that we can become rich (2 Cor 8:9), he died so that we can live (1 Peter 2:24). So what's my point? The Bible says that we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16) and that we should take Him as our example(Heb 12:2). And since the Bible calls Him the Bridegroom and the Church is His Bride, husbands can learn how to treat their wives from observing how Christ treats the Church. I hope I have made a good attempt at answering your question. 1 Like |
