Pls was this so called magic played within the rules guiding price movement on the NSE,which says it requires a minimum of 10,000 units of stocks to be traded at a time, for price movement to occur? Besides, even if there were to be changes, the next price was 132.sth and not 137.

it easy to query this strategy they use today,,,, what of if they allow the price to close at the 130 but open tomorrow market at 137 as a reference price before bull or bear of the day.

manipulation by the MM
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by stokfrick: 6:19pm On Oct 18, 2016
mercylicious:

Its possible DT no single trade of 10,000 units occurred to change/ move d price to d trading price on d floor.

By this I mean, if d stock price is 137, if there is a bid of 9000 units @130 it will fly if there is an equivalent offer. Bt for the price to move from 137 to 130 on the price list, a block trade of 10k units must be traded for a large cap stock eg fo or a block sale of 50k units for small caps stocks eg fcmb

This point / rule I raised here is very important if u want to be good in maniputing stock prices. U can do it if u own substantial units of a stock and also have d muscle to buy. You can push d price up or down. Not only mm can do it

So mercy, do u think its possible the above condition was not met and they did not manipulate the prices?

Just want to be sure. Cos this scenario has played out in this fo before and I lost reasonably due to it.

U need to confirm if there was and at what price d block sale was. Ft.com used to state d trades, units n time they were done. I've not used it in years, so am not sure if they still show it. I do enter it from smn/ price list/ ft

I experienced this d time I traded cap long time ago. When I monitored it closely, I saw there was no block trade. Another stock DT i noticed it then was nestle. Even 7 up too. Then 7up was trading above d price on price list. It only moved when d big boys traded reqd units.

like I said before the price will be "structurally managed".
There should have been some block trades of the unit rules but was splitted even to about 9950 and 50 units just to keep its #137 price.

How long will it continue?tomorrow will tell

I have given them enough time to get monetary policy right.

On Friday, I will join Peterichy's convoy by liquidating 50% of my entire portfolio and buying USD.

At this rate N750 - N1000/$ is no longer far

Market is foot dragging but quick release of results could trigger mini bull.

This statement does not make any sense what so ever- grin grin

are all the companies going to release results at the same time?
the 'mini bulls' we have had here and there, have they been the result of 'results'?
and why do you need the market to have a 'mini bull'? could it be because you are heavily invested in NSE's most sluggish 1st tier bank stock and realise only a general market upswing will stop it from further price decline and get it off the ground, northward?

my advise to you and your FBNH allies is simply this - leave FBNH alone and pay attention to the discussions regarding other stocks - there are stocks out there that do not need any market 'mini bull'

Good morning to you

On Morgan, why not storm that office if you're in the country?
I mean, you have OWN money to retrieve there,
and I'm not aware that anybody is barred from visiting there physically to sort out any issue if other channels fail.
We are still living in a physical world, and b4 online, we were trading stocks.
