IN a bid to encourage Nigerians in diaspora to use official channels to transfer earnings back home, the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday raised the exchange rate for Bureaux De Change (BDC) to N385 per dollar. Presently, the CBN allows Travelex and First Bank to sell proceeds of international money transfer services to BDCs. While each BDC is allowed to purchase $10,000 per week, the CBN however sets the exchange rate at which the dollars are sold to them. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/remittance-cbn-raises-bdc-exchange-rate-n385/ 1 Like 2 Shares

he clowns that gave us this creature are now the ones complaining about the stench in the latrine. We know, you all shoved us in the quagmire. When I think of the state Nigeria is in I am filled with unspeakable despair. Our intellectuals should be ashamed of themselves. Every one of them. Nonsense. 8 Likes |

"...The aim is to increase the supply of dollar and stabilize the exchange rate.." Are you serious? Is this a joke or what? You're increasing the supply of foreign currencies by actually limiting remittance channels and regulating exchange rates (again). You've stopped free flow of remittance which was actually helping the economy, forced a static exchange rate (after floating the Naira a couple months ago) and you're here talking about increasing the supply of foreign currency. Where exactly did these people go to school self? 21 Likes 2 Shares |
