terzurum5: 1, The safari that coined 'plastic fan' at one point thought Mikel Obi was a bench warmer prior to the 2013 Nations cup but I rebutted her claims with facts. Someone who claimed to be Mikel Obi's follower. What do you call her? 'plastic fan'? Chai! Do not throw stone in the market else it comes hitting hard on one of yours. 2, Solanke is no inferior to both players mentioned. In short, he is in a bigger club than both players. Levels different. That is an achievement both needs to meet. Facts. EOD 3, Etebor I no am? judge yaself. 4, Once Dominic Solanke plays one match for Chelsea this season. He deserves a call up. Abi you know know Chelsea big pass Man City and Watford? |

Icon4s: Lol. I have been quietly following these threads for years now. Even before the periods when all the traffic was on the U20 world cup thread created by Joseph. Nevertheless with the recent prospect of the eagles and the exciting young players I expect many long term fans who lost interest during our years of drought and have only been following silently to return and register their presence online. Many of whom who I suppose (both in Nigeria and in diaspora) are closely watching the eagles and keenly monitoring our progression being aware that we are just at the door of another golden generation. 3 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: You are trying hard to find words from my mouth, ba? The truth is, nothing is guaranteed in football. How many goals Isaac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho scored in youth competitive matches? Remove friendlies. How many goals at Club matches? That is how we can know is more prolific Make sure you back it up with facts. Let those players make Chelsea bench first before we know good they are but for now they are not in the same Level. A bench material in Chelsea fc first team while the regularly are in small small boys clubs. What an irony! |

AF Ghana 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers - Africa Zambia Zambia eyeing Ghana, Uganda friendlies by Phumzile Ngcatshe Ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Cameroon next month, Zambia are looking to arrange a friendly against Ghana or Uganda. Information doing the rounds is that the Football Association of Zambia are aiming to face the Black Stars and the Cranes to prepare for the Indomitable Lions. Following their 2-1 loss against Nigeria in the qualifiers, they want a strong West African side to enable them a proper preparation. It is also reported that FAZ have organised a camp for local-based players to resume training as they want to down the Cameroonian side. According to Chipolopolo's team manager Stanley Kaseko, he said the Chipolopolo technical bench had requested FAZ to arrange two friendlies before the tie against the Indomitable Lions. “From our programme, we had requested the association to arrange two friendly matches before playing Cameroon,” Kaseko tells the Post of Zambia. “We would like to have quality friendlies; we suggested teams from West Africa or East Africa. We would appreciate if Ghana or Uganda can come on board. “Take this training seriously and be strong ahead of the match against Cameroon.” Wedson Nyirenda's Chipolopolo remain rooted at the bottom of Group B following their 2-1 loss to the Super Eagles in Ndola two weeks ago whilst Cameroon drew 1-1 against Algeria. africanfootball.com/news/656805/Zambia-eyeing-Ghana-Uganda-friendlies |

yeah he didn't play the DM position in the classic manner like a makalele, oliseh etc per se but i think his discipline and good positioning made westerhof field him in that role. adepoju was really talented. i consider him one of the most underrated and unheralded players that we ever produced. he was a good foil for oliseh. i remember the master class him and oliseh gave the south africans in the semi-finals of AFCON 2000. i feel if he had played in the midfield alongside oliseh and jayjay against cameroon in AFCON 2000 and denmark in france 98 the outcomes of those games might have been different Icon4s: 1 Like |

AF Nigeria 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers - Africa Cameroon Rohr alerted to John Ogu, may now give him Eagles second chance Israel-based midfielder John Ogu is now being considered for a recall to the Super Eagles after coach Gernot Rohr was alerted to his exploits. Defensive midfielder Ogu helped Hapoel Be’er Sheva to win the Israeli league championship last season and he is driving the club’s Europe League campaign this season. “John Ogu is most likely to return for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria,” an official informed. “Rohr has a lot more information about the player and he is now favourably disposed to call him up.” The 28-year-old Ogu last played for Nigeria in an AFCON qualifier. This season he has made four appearances for the Israeli champions, who are second on the table with 13 points from six matches, three points behind leaders Maccabi Tel Aviv. Last season, he played 34 matches in the league and scored four goals from his defensive midfield position as Hapoel Be’er Sheva clinched a historic league championship. africanfootball.com/news/656763/Rohr-alerted-to-John-Ogu-may-now-give-him-Eagles-second-chance |

AF Nigeria Premier League 2016/2017 Cameroon Mikel: Eagles want bonuses in Dollars, not Naira by Samm Audu Nigeria’s Super Eagles have insisted they be paid their match bonuses in US Dollars henceforth and they have made this clear to the NFF through their skipper Mikel Obi. The Eagles have been paid most of their allowances and bonuses in Naira due to the poor finances of the NFF. And that was why each player was paid a million Naira as win bonus for last month’s AFCON qualifier win over Tanzania. The exchange rate was at the official rate of 200 Naira per Dollar. The rate on the unofficial market is now put at 470 Naira to a Dollar. The Eagles have now made it clear this will be the last time they will receive this payment in Naira. They are entitled to $5000-a-man for this month’s World Cup qualifier win against Zambia in Ndola. This payment has not been settled and the players said they expect to now be paid in dollars. “Mikel has told the NFF leadership they will no longer receive their match bonus in Naira. They want to be paid in Dollars,” a top source specially informed. “It will now be interesting how the NFF will handle this challenge ahead of the must-win match against Algeria in Uyo next month.” africanfootball.com/news/656642/Mikel-Eagles-want-bonuses-in-Dollars-not-Naira |

AF Nigeria Premier League 2016/2017 Leicester City Ahmed Musa: I will fight for Leicester future Ahmed Musa Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa has declared he will fight for his future at Premier League champions Leicester City after an indifferent start to life in England. A lot was expected of Ahmed Musa when in the summer he completed his 18 million pounds transfer from CSKA Moscow with a former coach at the Russian champions even saying “he is made for England”. But the Nigeria star has since struggled to find his range in England, featuring mostly as a substitute for ‘The Foxes’. This has gone on to affect his international career as his lack of playing time meant he was dropped to the bench by Nigeria for this month's World Cup qualifier in Zambia. He has now said he wishes to fight for a first-team shirt at Leicester even though he did not get off to a flying start in England. “I will prove I can make the difference at Leicester,” he said. “This is a new team for me, unlike most of the other players in the team and so it will take me some time to fit in but I believe I will soon be commanding a first-team place.” The 24-year-old Ahmed Musa has made five appearances for Leicester in the league, three coming on as a substitute and he has yet to score a goal. africanfootball.com/news/656614/Ahmed-Musa-I-will-fight-for-Leicester-future |

Obasi, Adi Or Salami For Eagles? Rohr To Decide Ahead Tie With Algeria Head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is currently pondering who will be call up from the trio of Chinedu Obasi, Fanendo Adi and Gbolahan Salami, Owngoalnigeria.com understands. The trio have all been doing well for their respective teams and with a vacuum set to be created by the manager’s admission, that home base players could be excluded from his team for the tie against Algeria as the Nigeria league is on break, they are seriously been considered. Salami has scored 14 goals for KuPS in Finland, while Adi has 16 goals in the league for MLS side Portland Timbers, two goals away from his last season tally with less than 8 games. Obasi has enjoyed a career revival in Sweden with AIK with six goals in his last seven games, putting aside the injury worries that have slowed down his progress in recent years, A decision will be made by the manager in two weeks time, when the list of players for the game on the 12th of November in Uyo is released. owngoalnigeria.com/2016/10/19/obasi-adi-or-salami-for-eagles-rohr-to-decide-ahead-tie-with-algeria/ |

Salami hits goal no. 13 as KuPS win away against HIFK Nigerian striker, Gbolahan Salami scored his 13th goal of the season for Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS) in their 2-0 away victory to HIFK Fotboll in the Finnish Veikkausliga at the Sonera Stadium on Monday. Salami opened scoring for The Yellow-Blacks in the 15th minute, before Finnish midfielder, Petteri Pennanen doubled the lead in the 83rd minute to end the game 2-0 in favour of the away team. The former Warri Wolves striker, who scored last Friday for KuPS in their 2-1 loss to RoPS, gave good account of himself again by inspiring his side to a comfortable 2-0 victory, thereby increasing hisgoal tally in the current season. The Nigerian duo of Salami and Azubuike Egwuekwe were in full time action for KuPS, while former Sunshine Stars midfielder, Paul Onobi picked the starting shirt, but later made way for Patrick Poutiainen in the 68th minute. www.soccernet.com.ng/2016/10/salami-hits-goal-no-13-as-kups-win-away.html 1 Like |

Exclusive: NFF, Rohr Divided Over Moses, Success Super Eagles Recall Augustine Akhilomen An inside source in the Nigeria Football Federation has revealed to Soccernet.com.ng exclusively that the move by the Super Eagles technical adviser, Genort Rohr to invite the Premier League duo of Victor Moses and Isaac Success ahead of next month's FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria, have been received with diverse minds. Moses and Success missed the team's 2-1 win over the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Ndola a fortnight ago, sighting injuries as excuses for their inability to make the encounter. In a published story on Completesports on October 7, the NFF, who were unhappy with the players’ failure to join the Super Eagles, had planned to suspend them for subsequent games. However, with the recent development surrounding the brilliant form of Moses, who scored in Chelsea's 3-0 whitewashing of Leicester City Saturday's Premier League and Isaac Success, who had a decent performance in the colours of Watford on Sunday against Middlesbrough, Rohr has indicated plans to invite them for the match against Algeria in Uyo on November 12. The German tactician's decision has been met with discontentment as the source disclosed that some key members of the football federation are still frowning on the invitation of Moses and Success to the senior national team. "We have really not concluded on whether Victor Moses and Isaac Success should be invited for the November 12 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Algeria considering the fact that the decision of the two players to miss the encounter against Zambia was not truly justified,” the inside source told soccernet.com.ng "Although there are plans by the Super Eagles technical adviser to extend invitation to them for the Algeria match, however, a few of our members are yet to veto their invitations because they are indirectly selecting matches they want to play, something which won't be condoned. "It is true that we want our best players to feature against Algeria but then, a situation where players are not committed and hungry to play for their country, I don't think they merit to be listed,” he said. www.soccernet.com.ng/2016/10/exclusive-nff-rohr-divided-over-moses.html |

chrisooblog: Mutiu (head master) was one of my favorite young players then. He was one of our best players at Saudi '89 U21. He stepped into the Super Eagles when the competition was really very high. Though he was hardly in the starting 11 but was a kind of player that changes things when introduced. Not true that he was never celebrated. Those that knew his worth celebrated him. Same goes for Samson Siasia, another lethal striker hu hardly made the starting 11 bc of Amokachi and Yekini's killer combo. |
