Thank you @firsttymum, @Triplekmama, I have used my visa before. I even traveled this year already. I am travelling next month for my delivery so I thought I should send one. Is it necessary then to still send. kindly advise. |

Not necessary cos u've used it for d purpose. Its called "change of intent" cos u never use am for d said intent which should hav com before ur first trip. But since u've traveled,no need again. Urbanbeauty: 2 Likes |

So[b] after re-routing my flight we had 10 days in the UK before continuing our waka to Houston. We applied for UK visas and we got it. all my attempt to get PTA failed and i was left with my luck at travellex lagos airport on the day of departure, My proactive self went to the airport to inquire from travellex if they wld have dollars the next day, and that was how i heard the unbelievable! they require BVN Card!!! who has BVN cards never heard of it! I called my account officer and she said she doesn't think GT has cards for any1, I drove straight to d branch i registered and was told my card isnt ready, so i requested for a cover letter but got a print out containing my name and BVN number with a GTB stamp on it. Got to the airport 5:30 pm for a 11:30 pm flight, checked in and get our boarding passes, then we joined the queue at travelex, i met the travelex manager who said my print out should be acceptable, but there was a change of shift b4 it got to my turn at abt, that was how the new manager said he wont accept my BVN print out. All effort to beg and persuade him failed, even told him the previous manager said it cld fly. Over 4 hours of standing amounted to nothing. I gave up and said atleast i tried my best, so i saw my people off to the car park and was going to board when i thought i could try again, now there was no one there at this time and twas abt 10:10 and he said ok i will give u 2k each instead of 4k each i said i dint mind and that was how i got PTA at the last minutes o, mind you boarding gate closes at 10:30 we narrowly got in through the boarding gate as the ground staff were already threatening to offload us. Got on the flight, BA is as good as always, oh lest i forget, we presented fit to fly at the check in counter. Got to Heathrow and i was thinking its gona be a walk over cos i av been through Heathrow POE countless times, however it wasn't so easy getting through this time cos I had my pregnant wife with me who was in UK for the first time. see transcript below; Me: Morning CBP: Morning and what are u here for Me: here for vacation and a 4 days course CBP: (she sees that DW is pregnant) Madam what do u do DW: i am xxxxx and i do xxxxx CBP: how far along are you DW: 30 weeks and hands her fit to fly from doc in Nigeria CBP: how long are in here for Me: 10 days CBP: can i see your return flight? Me: i handed her our itinerary CBP: (she sees that we r going to america and that return from america is in 3 months time ) why are u going to america? Me: for another round of vacation and to have our baby if we have the opportunity. CBP: its expensive in america, do u have families there? Me: i have budgeted 1k per month for accommodation and No we dont have families there CBP: where do you work and what do u do Me: i work at xxxxxx as an engineer and my job is xxxx and xxxxx (showed her pay slips) CBP: did u inform US embassy u were goin to give birth in the states nd said she will call them to confirm. Me: not at the point of interview but i sent an email after we finalized our plans. (showed her copy of the mail i sent and reply from NIV lagos) CBP: do u have enough money to cover the travel and bills? Me: i have 4k USD in hand and 10k in cards/bank note that she was writing everything i said in a notebook CBP: have u contacted hospital and doctor? Me: yes i have contacted Hospital and doctor (showed her long thread of emails btwn doctor and I) CBP: i will have to speak to my manager and get back to you, pls come with me she takes us to a waiting area, there we sat for abt 20 mins then we saw her returning, i saw white paper but DW saw a stamp with her while she walked towards us, she said pls come with me and as we walk beyond the Point of entry counters, then she apologized for delaying us and explained that she had to do the checks and that we should have a nice time here and enjoy our time in america and wished us a safe delivery. na so we enter UK. I said Houston cannot be worse than this. watch out for part 3 highlight is houston POE 19 Likes |

Time to give back. Arrived Chicago yesterday with my mum. Im 30 weeks. Got my visa about 17 mths ago before i got pregnant. I sent the change of intent email and got the usual response. Chicago POE experience was swell. CBP: i see you were here last year Me: yes i was Cbp: what was ur purpose: Me: vac Cbp; so what your purpose now? Me: vac with my mum and child birth Cbp: you have a doctor yet? Me: yes. Cbp: can i see evidence Me: yea( showed him my doc acceptance letter, receipt for deposit payment made and email correspondence print out). Cbp: how much do you have Me: 12k Cbp: okay(stamps me and mum in for 6 mths ) We headed to declaratiom cos i declared over 10m and some food. The guy checked my money and the food. Asked again why i wanna birth in US, told him i want the best medical care for my baby and i know Amerixa has that, he said no, hes sure its for citizenship, told him not primarily, he said even if it is, its nor a crime as long as u follow the rules. He returns my passport and all our food and money and let us go..he even help push my trolley to the door. And that was it. Preparation and prayer is key in my opinion, No POE is so bad. 20 Likes |

boluwagin: Hi sorry for the late response My jps Bills was as follows UNT Doc 1500 Jps Hospital bill 2500 Lab mom 202 Lab baby 35 Epidural 1600 got a refund of 400 (20 or 25% discount) No pediatrician bill used a jps nurse practitioner. Jps is accepting International patients u just need to get a tarrant county card, it just shows the address u would be staying. Also it's any doctor on duty at the time of ur labor that would deliver your baby not a specific doctor. @justwise am I allowed to post the UNT number on my payment slip? 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hello house, all praise to God my LO arrived on the 8th of Oct. Hospital- St Bernards, Circumcision, follow up visits all inclusive. Now it's BA that wants to give me headache but God pass them. Saying I should pay $400 for my LO's ticket. Please I'm trying to follow the suggestions given here earlier and i need a few clarifications. 1. The exact AA/BA flight combination for my return leg isnt showing anymore on the BA website, so I can't do an estimate based on that as suggested Earlier. . I called them earlier and tried to book a return ticket to bring down the cost since I can find the exact flight combination I have online anymore but they said I can only book a return ticket at the airport. Please anyone That has successfully dealt with this and gotten a cheaper quote should please help out. Thanks in advance 3 Likes |

[quote author=ladyAy post=50402924]Hello house, all praise to God my LO arrived on the 8th of Oct.) Last year June to be precise I had same issues with BA. Got a quote of 597 for my daughter's ticket. Took the advice of some nairalanders here, I refused to pay in advance over the phone and paid at the airport departure day....my dear I paid $132 instead of the $597. Just chill and pay at the airport jare. From my findings it's always cheaper. 1 Like |

@LadyAy,call AA Customer Care number in US and tell the agent you want to book infant ticket for your baby that is US citizen,he/she will ask for your reference number with BA and the date, she will check and give you the price, you can pay over the phone with your card. Mine was $97.32 though I was told $332 by BA agent. Hope this helps. 5 Likes |

Latolly: @latolly,emirates don't have issue with visa on arrival provided that the letter u have from the immigration office from Nigeria has your baby's passport number and it must tally. They would fly your baby 2 Likes |

Latolly: My husband went to the arrival part of MM1 and spoke with an immigration officer there. Who helped in the process,it's actually a 2 way process. First u have to scan your baby's passport to them and then they would send a letter to you from Nigeria immigration stating your baby's passport number and that he's a u.s citizen but would get his visa on arrival here in Nigeria. You can print the letter there in the u.s Emirate would ask for the letter and the passport number on the letter must tally with your baby passport. U can email me temy4u@hotmail.com When u arrive they would process the VOA for u for $200 8 Likes 2 Shares |
