taiwo92: On the letter they didn't even give any tangible reason Although I finished with a 4.06 gpa , I had two C's on two compulsory 400 level courses So I think that was the reason I freind from my dept was admitted with a cgpa of 3.9 and we applied together So schools also look at performances in compulsory courses for the final two years of undergraduate studies, letter of intent, reference letters etc its not always about final GPA |

I have a strange question to ask. While still waiting for my visa reply, I feel like sending email to my prospective supervisor in my chosen school to open up a discussion with him. My objective is to get him open up to me if he can send a special request to the embassy in Ghana or terms a special clearance or something of this nature? You know how we do it in Nigeria, you feel me. Does this kind of "imma mmadu" recommendation from prospective school supervisor to embassy really work? Mind you, I am in good communication (academics only) with my prospective supervisor |

Riddeek:Bros thanks for the reply, i didn't really want to say my cgpa for some personal reasons and to keep my anonymity(my former course mates plenty for NL). My cgpa is well above that of your friends'. A former course mate of mine who has a similar cgpa as mine got a regret mail from one of the profs stating that he has more competitive offers from other candidates (atleast they even replied). I'm beginning to think its because i don't have a paper published or maybe there is a bias towards graduates from Nigerian uni's or maybe i should write IELTs and GRE. `I would resume my search for a supervisor though (you guys just motivated me). Thanks one more thing oga rideek, have you gotten a supervisor |

Osemigho:Bros, 50 +!!!, you na "fada" for where i dey. Well you have really motivated me, i just have to keep trying and hopefully i'll be able to get atleast one supervisor. Thanks the hustle continues, and i'll do well to check out that site you posted. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Riddeek: 1:22pm On Oct 23, 2016 |
TheBatman:no i haven't gotten a supervisor Ur CGPA is dat high, don't bother taking a GRE, a lot of schs don't need it anyway Speaking of publications, that is a big deal, it is a major determinant in granting admission because it shows research potential, if you do not have any like myself, no problem, it simply means you have to spread your net over a wider circumference, thats why you shouldn't rely upon a single school, look at all possible schs offering ur program and bombard the faculty members |

brandymcmb:please how much is the fee at UNB. Is it up to $10,000 per year? And do I need to send physical copies of my documents to MUN or I can upload online. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Nobody: 3:18pm On Oct 23, 2016 |
Riddeek:Thanks for reply. I'll sure would bombard those faculty members. Also from what i've gathered our biggest competition are the asians and egytians. But by God's grace we all would succeed. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by xyoung: 10:43pm On Oct 23, 2016 |
Rfactor:For Uregina, the admissions office will match you automatically to a supervisor if you meet their admission requirement. Just focus on getting admissions first |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by xyoung: 10:45pm On Oct 23, 2016 |
Rfactor:Focus all your attention on submitting an excellent admission application and hope you scored above 4.0 cgpa? Don't worry about supervisor as the school will match you up |
