Buhari's Letter To NASS - Rectifying A Fraudulent Cluelessness by Nobody: 11:49pm On Oct 25, 2016
Buhari actually did not write NASS for approval to borrow, he was asking for virement of funds already appropriated in the 2016 budget (administrative transfer of funds from one part of the budget to another). I expect people to raise other questions actually, different from the wrong information that he asked to borrow.

The letter stated a lot of instances where the budget figures were way below the requirements of the various MDAs....the important question to be asked is, who made the budget such that funds were just ignorantly being slashed without due reference to the needs of the MDAs?

Why were they in such a haste to rubbish the Jonathan administration that they went on to prepare a budget that will make Nigerians think Jonathan was wasteful?

For example, 4bn was appropriated for the Public Complaints Commission in 2015 under Jonathan, but probably to show Nigerians that Jonathan 'stole' the money, they slashed the figure to 2bn. Today, they are asking for the re-appropriation of the 2bn deficit to the PCC (with the excuse that the Commission can't pay salaries) and they are using big grammar that will make Nigerians confused!

Another questionable instance in the letter is the President's request that the 300million appropriated for the construction of 132KVA substation at Gwaram, Jigawa State be vired into a budget item that already looks bogus - Reconstruction of Fallen Transformer towers (where?) and the replacement of glass insulators (where and how many?). It is interesting to note that 4.88billion was appropriated originally for the item stated above! How many glass insulators are they replacing at such crazy figures?

This government is simply a government of fraudulent cluelessness!

The biggest heist ever in the history of Nigeria is probably happening under this regime.

There has been no subsidy for almost 1 year. So what has happened to all the subsidy savings?

This government has borrowed 2.2 trillion naira in the last 1 year. For what??

What has happened to the monies(3 trillion) locked down in the TSA?

I am genuinely afraid that the biggest heist in the history o Nigeria is probably happening right under our noses covered up by the anti corruption slogan.

They steal with impunity yet divert our attention in blaming GEJ.
Summary: the 2016 budget was a gross failure. And no matter the late patches you can't revive it given this little time before the year runs out.
A mess or miss?

Exactly the point I have stressed time and again...the biggest heist in our history is most likely happening now!

Foreign Reserve is seriously going down, on what spending?

TSA trillions are no where to be found...

The 'recovered loot' that they made noise about is nowhere to be found....

Budget implementation is very close to nothingness....

Yet, we keep hearing phantom figures everywhere....serious wahala!

Nigerian is in for a long battle with hypocrisy.

They said they have already spent a whooping N80b on the social intervention scheme form the N500b budgeted. (N500b budgeted minus N420b balance = N80b)

Can anyone volunteer details on what N80b was expended on? This is the same scheme they said they can't implement in 2016 budget.

Painfully my brainwashed extended family members voted this useless and criminal government into power.

Shame on Tinubu for deceiving Nigerians and most especially the SW.

Any one still defending this fraudulent government should be sent to the Abyss. angry

In that same letter, he asked for more money to be transferred into the North-East something something.....

The same North-East where 300million was spent on grass-cutting requires more money oh!

What is the definition of daylight robbery again please?

most of those figures were just payment of campaign debt. APC spend d highest sums during d last presidential elections. they ar totally ridden in debt. dat is why their national secreteriat is devoid of activities.
