When I started blogging, I never thought of SEO or anything like that.
Suddenly I began to see my blog on Google page 1 without consciously working towards it.

What I believe worked for me is CONTENT.
No wonder it is usually said CONTENT IS KING.
I still believe in UNIQUE content creation as a prerequisite for ranking.

You are perfectly right but that is majorly for Blog website ,when we are talking about non-blog website in competitive industries its more than that . We still have 200 Factors responsible for ranking.

In SEO we experts work on the best Practice and we keep ourselves up to date in order to remain relevant in the Industry.

Sometimes you don't even need to have too much gearing content ,but you might be ranked for the fact that your site as relevant contents and you also have what Google requires of your website to rank .

I worked for two blogs 1 is a Health website ,before i practiced SEO they were not showing despite they had the articles required to rank ,after SEO Current report for the last 28 days (21/06/2016) states that Total clicks 1,807,Total impressions 30,588,Avg. CTR 5.91%,Avg. position 17.2.

The other one also had good ranking and increase in CTR.

My point is make sure you use the best Practice which will give you an edge over other bloggers using the same content with you .

As for non blog website (Company websites) . Its more complex than just using only "Quality Content" SEO's that belive in only contents won't be able to rank in their own industry let alone ranking for clients because there are other Factors attached to the Ranking .

I won't be able to mention but i will be coming up with a nice beginner writeup .

There was an hypothesis that hosts can also affect ranking but with the use of common sense its wrong the only issue is if the Host you use goes offline often or takes your site offline often which is not good for your business .

Your website is your office ,imagine with thief's or thugs visit your office every day to it shut down ,do you think clients will love to revisit ? No ! Appearantly they won't . So Google does not like such so they belive in stable website that is how it can affect your ranking .

Keyword research is very simple ,as i said SEO is a Science . Use the tools i stated in my writeup ,perhaps guess what users can use to search for your business or services and use those tools to multiply and look for the trending words then use that to write your quality content . Hope it helps !
