If Amuzie makes it, then no wahala..... I haven't seen any signs that he might. But let's see...

But eyes must remain on Debayo and Akiotu in the long run for our leftback options.

Anumudu is still far from ready.

We seem to have an abundance of talented options in the rightback role now who play first team football but for leftback.... Hmmm.... They are scarce.

tbaba1234:

Idowu also plays left back but i suspect he is in the team as an option for right back not left back especially if Amuzie makes the list.

Sir Joseph1013 have already dropped Sir Alex's "Iwobi" quote... So lemme just drop it as news... smiley
........................................................................
Sir Alex Ferguson Speaks On The Rise Of
Arsenal Forward Iwobi

Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson admits he’s been ‘impressed’ with Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi this season.

The 20-year-old emerged from the Gunners’
academy last season and became a first-team
regular towards the end of the last campaign.
The Nigerian forward is yet to score this term but he’s helped transform the Gunners’ play this season with Arsene Wenger’s side playing a more typical free-flowing brand of football than
supporters have seen in the last few years.

And Ferguson admits he’s been impressed with
the youngster, who he believes has helped to
make Wenger’s side title rivals this term.

You shouldn’t forget Arsenal [in the title race],’
Ferguson told Kicker.

‘The team is more sturdy. They’ve got better and more aggressive. I’m impressed with the young boy Alex Iwobi.’

Why do you make such statement? Conte asked Mikel to leave after the Olympics not before. So why paste such post? We said the relationship strained after Mikel left for the Olympics. So how does Conte asking Mikel to leave after the Olympics change that?
Conte axed Mikel from his team because of some footballing reasons not because of Olympics.
Remember, Conte was quoted taxing Mikel to come back with the Olympics gold medal. I don't believe he would send such a good will message if he had grouse with Mikel leaving for Brazil.
Mikel still has good number of years at the top level ahead of him. Thank goodness his game is not about high intensity, pressing and pace, traits which dissappear with age.
A decent club can pull a coup getting Mikel for little or no transfer fee and get the best out of him for a good number of years

Paper Work Issues Could Stop Dutch Nigerian Ebuehi From Honouring Super Eagles Call Up

Reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com has it that Tyronne Ebuehi
might not honour the invitation to the Nigeria
senior national team, due to issues bothering on
documentation.

Ebuehi as exclusively reported by
Owngoalnigeria.com is in the list of players, that
the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot
Rohr has penciled down for the November 12
qualifiers against Algeria in Uyo.

The ADO Den Haag defender has made five
league appearances this season with a goal to his name, in what is his third full season in the
Eredivisie.

However the right full back, who was born and
brought up in the Netherlands could miss out on the game as he is yet to be issued a Nigerian
passport, by the authorities.

Although he qualifies to represent Nigeria through his parents, the 20 year old presently holds only a Dutch passport and by rules, he need to be in possession of a Nigerian passport for him to be eligible to play for the West Africans.

”Ebuehi is in the list but he might not make it for the game against Algeria, unless he gets a
Nigerian passport before next month. For now he is not in possession of one and he needs it to play for Nigeria” Super Eagles insider @muyiwalawal told Owngoalnigeria.com.

To get Nigerian passport na small thing. He can get it within some days.

I don't know if it will be easy to get at the Nigerian Embassy in Holland though.

Truth is that both players and coaches surf the Internet and read news and fans reviews of their games.
I know Joseph Yobo was a regular on kickoffnigeria.
Rohr appears to be a studios coach so far. I won't be surprised he surfs the net to review players available to him.
This thread will appear on the first page of any search engine. cool

Do not think I am sad Mikel is leaving. I am happy.

The greater part of the xenophobic British press and public have been pressuring Abramovich to sack Emenalo. Even when Jose mourinho almost got Chelsea relegated accusing fingers were instead pointed at Emenalo by the daily mail.

NFF Waiting On Super Eagles Coach To Submit List Of Invited Players For WCQ Vs Algeria.

Super Eagles manager Genort Rohr is expected to submit the list of players he intends to invite for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria this weekend, contrary to the names being bandied about by the local press.

The German tactician was in the United Kingdom on Tuesday and Wednesday to hold discussions with English-based trio Obi Mikel, Isaac Success and Odion Ighalo about the match with the North Africans in Uyo.

"We have heard so many names but honestly the Coach has not sent the list yet until this weekend, ” a Nigeria Football Federation insider told allnigeriasoccer.com. “He just finished his trip to the United Kingdom and will conclude his list before sending to us.

"With the Nigeria Professional Football League on recess, it is common knowledge that majority of the players thatwill be invited for the crucial World Cup qualifier are foreign-based stars.Ifeanyi Emmanuel.

Nigeria: Musa Vows to Keep His Place in
Eagles Team

Super Eagles defender Musa Mohammed says
he's not taking his invitation to the senior national team for granted because he knows what is needed from him in order to maintain a place in Gernot Rohr's team.

Eagles' Technical Adviser, Rohr in a recent
interview stated that players who do not play
regular football in their respective clubs might not be invited for the crunch encounter against
Algeria in Uyo echoing Former Shooting Stars
attacker Adegoke Adelabu's call that fringe players at their respective teams should be ignored for the mammoth tie considering the
high stakes.

Musa, who has found it difficult to break into
Istanbul Basaksehir FK's first team since his highly celebrated move last season is of the opinion that he'll continue to work hard in order to remedy the situation which is looking to affect his international career.

"I know what's needed and I'm doing my best in training sessions and when called upon in games but sometimes decisions of this sort are out of the player's hand, the coaches consider a whole lot of other factors to reach a decision," Musa told DailyTrust in a chat.

According to Adelabu, players who see action
regularly for their club sides will definitely be fitter and in a better frame of mind competitively compared to bench warmers.

"The most important thing for the match against Algeria is for the coach to invite only players playing regular football in their clubs because these set of players will be already fit for the match and can cope with the rigours of the match," he said.

"There are many players home and abroad who
are regulars for their clubs. They should be the
players wearing the national colours," the ex 3SC star noted.

NFF President Pinnick Reveals Information
On Russian Born Nigerian Idowu, Shed More
Light On Plans To Lure Chelsea Tammy Abraham And Liverpool Ejaria To The Super Eagles

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has reacted to reports about Nigeria’s plan to lure England youth international duo Tammy Abraham of Chelsea and Ovie Ejaria of Liverpool.

The NFF supremo also took time out to speak on the chances of Russian born Nigerian Brian Idowu playing for the Super Eagles.

The duo of Abraham and Ejaria have represented England at youth level but Nigeria is keen on luring them to play for the senior national team, owing to their fine form for their respective sides, with Ejaria now firmly established as a first team player at Liverpool while Abraham has taken the Championship by storm where he is on loan to Bristol City from Chelsea.

”We are working on a lot of possibilities in that
direction but our focus right now is to qualify for
the World Cup 2018 in Russia. Tammy Abraham
is not an immediate priority as we have loads of
options upfront but he is one we are in contact
with for the future” He said.

”Ejaria case is for the Technical Adviser Mr.
Gernot Rohr to decide, If he says he wants him,
then we will expedite actions regarding his switch of allegiance to the Super Eagles”.

He was however specific on Brian Idowu, who as reported by Owngoalnigeria.com has been called up to the team by Rohr, who wants competition for his full backs and view the 24 year old Amkar Perm defender as a positive addition.

”We are in touch with Brian Idowu already. His
case is less complex and has the approval of the
Technical Adviser.”

Nice contribution Sir.... smiley

But thing is with the likes of Ebuehi and Idowu (two regulars in their fullback roles for their club's first teams) and also a few more to look forward to in both the right and left back roles for the long run (Musa Mohammed-whenever he sorts out his club issues, Iorfa Jnr, Ehizibue, Josh Debayo, Jason Akiotu, Moses Odubajo-who's out for six months, etc), then the 3-4-3 will have to wait.... wink

I still fancy the idea of a 3-4-3 as one of our many formation options based on match situations or opposition.

But as our main formation, I don't think so. smiley

Iwobi will be wasted as a winger. There is a big difference between a LMF(which is what Iwobi plays) and a LWF which is what u want him to play and I doubt if he can manage the second. Also Iheanacho might be wasted there but he can manage sha

the 3-4-3 can work for us, brilliantly too. You do not necessarily need two wingbacks for a 3-4-3, it depends on the kind of 3-4-3 you want to play. Like Barca under Pep would adjust to Abidal-Pique-Mascherano defence, with Alves pushing not into a midfield position but as a winger and Messi comes into the midfield instead so there will be literally no need for wingbacks. We can do that too since we have Omeruo-Ekong-Balogun as 3 good Cbs, Victor Moses can play that Alves role, but if we want to play the dual wingback formation then we might have a problem.

Conversely we could play a 3-5-2,
leon-Ekong-omeruo
moses-Ndidi-onazi-Iwobi
Mikel
Iheanacho-Ighalo.
I included Onazi there and positioned him beside Iwobi because Onazi is mobile and he will be the acting LB whenever we lose possession and Ndidi will be the standing DMF.

The South Africa national team has reportedly dumped Tokelo Rantie because he farted at manager Ephraim Mashaba.
The former AFC Bournemouth striker, currently in Turkey with Genclerbirligi , reportedly pulled down his trousers and farted in the direction of head coach Mashaba, which prompted his swift omission from the squad at the last international break.
At the time, a statement from Bafana Banana read:
"We thought in the spirit of encouraging team spirit and discipline, we must release Rantie from camp."
According to The Sun, however, a local South African report said: " Tokelo Rantie pulled down his pants and let one rip in the direction of Bafana Bafana coach Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba a few days ago in one of the most bizarre acts of obscenity ever seen in the national team.
"The flatulence was so suffocating that the putrid stench continues to hover over the team like a dark cloud."

I couldn't resist spicing the thread with this . Just too funny grin grin

SHOCKER: Rohr Calls Up Victor Osimhen, Drops Esiti And Igiebor, Obaboana On Standby For Algeria Tie
image
Ahead of Nigeria’s Russia World Cup 2018 qualifiers game against Algeria, Owngoalnigeria.com can reveal more shock names included by manager Gernot Rohr for the November 12 tie in Uyo.

Once again, the ever reliable Muyiwa Lawal, whose twitter handle goes by the name @muyiwalawal, revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com the changes made to the list by the German coach.

Gent of Belgium powerhouse Anderson Esiti and Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Nosa Igiebor have both been dropped with the manager handing a recall to John Ogu, who has been in fine form for Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

” Apparently Rohr wasn’t satisfied by Esiti in the game against Zambia and Nosa has not truly lived up to expectation, the two times he has been called up. They are both not in the list but I can confirm to you that John Ogu made the list” @muyiwalawal said in a chat.

He also revealed that Wolfsburg super teen Victor Osimhen was handed a shock recall by the coach after missing out on selection for the previous tie against Zambia in Ndola.

Meanwhile Godfrey Obaboana has been placed on standby as Rohr is yet to decide between the Turkish based central defender and Granada of Spain Uche Agbo.

To me he was poor. He made lots of errors but I believe Conte used him wrongly. Why play him on the left?

I am judging him based on his age and and his level of exposure. Remember he is a defender. Young players fit in faster in attacking positions than in defensive positions.

Except mayb u expected too much from him.
