How is the semi- Final like? Is it Nigeria screening or the Yali countrys screening? And those that applied previous years should also give us a breakdown scope of how things will fold up.

The first part is qualifying for second round. This involves a Panel reading your application. Once they are satisfied, they will okay you for a second round. The second round involves being interviewed by the US officials here in Nigeria. I understand there are many centres in the country - in the six geopolitical zones. I actually opened this forum to enable us, all the applicants of YALI 2017, to interact and share relevant information that pertains to our application process and qualification. I would want to enjoin us to keep this forum engaging and interactive. However, let's as much as possible avoid issues unrelated to and capable of derailing us from the sole objects of which this forum is created. No tribal or religious sentiment is allowed. I think there is a particular thread on this forum about the YALI fellowship program, i read there that the second stage interview questions are sometimes behavourial. so just google search online..

From what I garnered from a friend, the semi final is an interview that will hold in any location they choose here in Nigeria, we will have to present the docs we uploaded there and then they will obviously interview and scrutinize us....try to google up on blogs related to past YALI winners and tips

You're right. I was shortlisted last year,I attended the one on one interview in lagos but didn't make it to the final round.

No. You're not presenting any document except proof of identity. You're not expected to bring anything along except pamplets or handbills thay can proof your accomplishment. Selection is on merit and your application.

Thats true. But those threads are for past YALI applicants. This one focuses on applicants for 2017. Lets continue to keep ourselves posted.

it was extended to 27th Octobern, 2016 due to technical issues on that 26th. Even at that, it has closed.
