TheSuperNerd: Huh, this beautiful man named Rohr, chai! See me see good list. Idowu is the easiest steal ever cuz i'm sure Russia won't have called him ever. Also I think Rohr is going to look at 3 at the back, he selected 5 centerbacks and 2 fullbacks. |

BascoVanVeli: we have four full backs there not just three because Omeruo and or Leon can play as full backs so the 3-4-3 is a No go. so that one aside, I for one do not like that 4-2-3-1 at all. it is too defensive minded, not to mention that I'd Mikel will start then the formation won't look like it should at all, I don't know why we can't just start with two strikers up top, slim down the number of midfielders we have in our game and go for a smooth transitional formation from defence straight to attack, not a formation that will have to control the midfield first which requires a lot of passes in midfield. I watched Senegal the other day, there midfield only had to win back possession and push the ball to the forwards immediately and it was working, keeping the ball in the middle for too long, especially with players like Onazi who can't make a square pass even if their lives depend on it is risky against these Algerians oooh, I have said my own |

BascoVanVeli: It is a difficult system to pull off and comes with challenges, like the gaps between the defence and wing backs. Conte is a master tactician and Over time, he dealt with different challenges. We need to see how he adapts with the different approach that will come. I expect more teams to crowd and outplay him from the wings. I see teams stretching that defence. How Conte adapts is what we wait to see. That is not a proclamation of the failure of the three at the back systems. It highlights the challenges. I do not think the Super Eagles should experiment or play with such challenges. Not calling the system a failure. |

Mickael2: Bascovanveli is still mentioning that 3 back thing and yet he would say "it is not about the Algeria game". For an opponent that is blessed with fine midfielders a crowded midfield is a good option. Even if we dnt win, we should not lose. |

joseph1013: Conte is not the originator of the three at the back systems. Saying there are high risks involved with the three at the back system is not a slight on Conte. I repeat, we talked of Mancini and Van Gaal dropping it. We saw Guardiola in the last two games stopped the possessive movements which leaves three at the back. Mostly Fernandinho, Otamendi and Stones. In the last game Guardiola set up with a basic 4-2-3-1 and we did not see the passing errors which caused City in recent games. It is interesting to see how Guardiola goes with this. After the last 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 options. This has nothing to do with Conte but if it is good for the Super Eagles to experiment with the system. |

Icon4s: where are the fine midfielders? when we have to use Iheanacho who is a striker as our midfielder then we don't have fine midfielders, when we have to play Onazi who.can't make a square pass then midfield isn't our strength. our strength is in our attack and wide men, mind you we are trying to play a compact midfield here, in that match against Zambia only Moses was providing width, Iwobi was right in the middle clogging it up, that exposed Onazi's poor passing skills and although we weren't punished then, I don't think the Algerians will give us such room |

joseph1013: You talked of, enough training and devotion. That is the problem. We do not have enough time to drill the team to shape that way. I do not want us playing friendlies in unfamiliar conditions but use that time to tighten our game play. Spend more time in building cohesion. 1 Like |

Loooolllll...... His love for am pass my own love for am... I still think the 3-4-3/3-5-2 can be an option for us in the long run alongside our central strategies and other formation back-up options. But for the Algeria game... No naa... No time. Icon4s: |

joseph1013: Alexis Sanchez, Vidal, Valdivia, Matias Fernandez, Jara, Claudio Bravo, Aranguiz, Beausejour played for Colo-Colo at one time in their careers. Most of the rest Chilean players played in Universidad De Catolica or Universidad De Chile. These are teams that play or train with the three at the back system. So, it is easy to bring the Chilean players to play in this set-up. It is different for our players. |

Super Eagles Won't Fail Nigerians Against Algeria -Yusuf Ahead of next month's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier, Super Eagles chief coach, Salisu Yusuf has assured Nigerians that the team will fly over the Desert Foxes of Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. The three-time African champions lead group B with three points having won their opening match 2-1 against Zambia in Ndola while Algeria and Cameroon sit second and third respectively after managing a 1-1 draw in Algiers. Both teams will clash on November 12, as they will be desperate for points in a bid to be in a better position on the log as the winner of the group will pick the sole ticket for the World Cup slated for Russia. Having signed the dotted lines to seal a deal with the Nigeria Football Federation as the team's Chief Coach last week, Yusuf told Soccernet.com.ng in an exclusive chat that the Super Eagles will make Nigerians smile by picking the maximum points against the Desert Foxes. "It's not a surprise that Nigerians are really talking about the Super Eagles clash against the Desert Foxes of Algeria," Yusuf told Soccernet.com.ng. "As for us (the technical crew), what we are concerned about is the three points and I know the team won't fail to make Nigerians proud on November 12. There is no argument that Algeria have a solid squad blessed with talents, however, we are also working out plans to ensure that we neutralise them. "Regardless of their managerial situation, we know they still pose a threat against any team in the world. I am very optimistic that the Super Eagles will give their best to make that day special for us," he said. Mickael2: In the 4-2-3-1 set up, the full backs can attack with two defensive midfielders who can cover the gaps created. The attack midfielder can drop in during build-up plays. It is about out numbering the opponents in the middle. With Onazi holding deep and doing more of the covering, Mikel can keep the play fluid with his simple but intelligent passes. With an attacking midfielder dropping deep and bombarding forward to help in attack. The LMF and RMF help attack and drop deep. I do not see it as a defensive set up but balanced. |

Mickael2: You keep hammering about Onazi's poor passing skills. What about his work rate? The distance he covers on the field. The gaps he covers when our full backs overlap. His speed, his marking, tackles and interceptions. My only problem with Onazi is his lack of concentration in some games. He drifts out of position and leaves us exposed. Since Rohr came in, we have seen discipline in Onazi. Although in the game against Zambia, he made a careless run. I expect Rohr to iron it out with Onazi. Apart from that, he is a big asset to the team. 1 Like |
