"You can write and say what you want, but it is not true. He is a very good player, a very important player for us and he is not going anywhere. We like him, he likes us and, while he is not happy to be on the bench, he is more unhappy to be injured.

"There are no problems, but you need to sell papers and you write lies. You even write lies about myself when I say it is 'a disaster' because every time I leave my hotel I have somebody chasing [me], you write that I say my life is disaster. This is not true. Rooney is back tomorrow."

“When you say he (Carrick) played in the last two wins, for sure it shows that he gives us important things on the pitch. He gives stability in our game and mental freedom to the other guys around him to be more offensive. He is not just a player, but one who has a big understanding of the game.

“It's a pity he is not 25. It's a pity you can't stop the clock. In five years Messi will be 34 and we will all be crying that he is 34. Michael is a very good player and one who will be very difficult to replace.”

A tough game we have today I must confess. These guys always up their games against top teams; won L'pool and Everton while Arsenal needed ref's gaffe to beat them.

We must buckle up to avoid stories that touch the heart grin

Mhki is fit but Mourinho wouldn't play him. Just imagine if he had gone to Assnal or city or even liverfool he would have been getting playing time to fit into the team and understand the league. Probably by now if fit would have made one or two impact. But Mourinho will prefer to play Fellaini Pogba and the likes. Power always win when Mou is involved.

Guy calm down, Mihki will be introduced into the team gradually, we all don't want a repeat of what happened in the city match as it could dent his confidence. Give the lad some time to find his rhythm and get back into the side.

Must you guys always look for reason to bash Mou, if you can't support the team, you can go support either of City, liverpool or Arsenal. we have enough haters already.

“He is not injured. Sometimes I confuse the word 'fit' in the English language. Sometimes you can say that it is 'not injured', but you could also say that you are in great condition and ready to compete. That is different for me as we use different words in Portuguese for the different situations. Mkhitaryan is not injured, he is training with the team 100 per cent.

“The realities are often different, particularly in terms of the competitiveness. It doesn't matter who you are against, you have to play at the highest level otherwise you will not be able to do it. Micki needs time to become the top player he knows he can be.

“I think Micki will work here for sure. I don't like to speak about players from other clubs because I don't want to be misinterpreted, but I don't think he'll mind. A player who had a problem to play when he first arrived was Willian. He went through a process and then, after a few months, he became a top player. Then, when we won the championship, he was phenomenal and still is. That is just an example.

“Similarly, Di Maria had to learn a lot about his game when he came into Madrid from Portugal. Sometimes this is what happens. It happens with defenders, but it is often easier for them to adapt than attackers. Some go straight to success and others it takes more time.

"In Micky's case the process was interrupted by injury, which does not help the process of evolution. Being out for a month meant he has had to go through the process of getting match fit, then once he has that he needs the competitive level to do it. We believe him and, sooner or later, there will be no problem.”

In a nutshell, Miki isn't good enough to play yet and must up his game in certain areas...

The question is - how would extend spells on the bench help his cause.....abi how you see am?

You've already said it all! But I'm so sure Mkhitaryan is part and parcel of JM's Plan! I think it's evident against Man City, he played awfully!

Mkhitaryan is a talented Player, he's definitely gonna enjoy a good spell at United! But I think "we" fans should be patient and wholly trust the Manager.

"Burnley is very difficult, even the season they were relegated [2014/15] they were very difficult even for the big teams. I was champion with Chelsea and they drew against us at Stamford Bridge.

"We were fighting with City for the title and I remember they also drew against them at the Etihad, so they had good results against the top teams. This season, I know it was at home, but they beat Liverpool and Everton. So they are difficult.

"They have a certain style of play where they don’t care about the style or the way they do it; they just go with everything they have and the only thing I can say is it will be a very difficult match.

"It will be very important for us if we can win, but we have to be at our maximum level and also Old Trafford must be behind us. That’s not in question, though, because they always are.

"The momentum is fine. I prefer to lose one match 4-0 than to lose four matches 1-0. It’s better that way. We are in quite a good moment and the football we are playing is good.

"We lost two points against Stoke and I think that was our best match at home in terms of our quality, attacking football and creation of chances. We are playing fine, we are playing more than fine but we need points. That’s obvious."

True! An injured player needs to overcome his injury first and then attain a certain level of fitness to even be on the bench.

With that the manager can give him minutes to for him to hit his full potential both in fitness and form and that is gradual.

Mkhi will come good we just have to be patient with him.
