@OP your defense is very weak. We all understand that Nigerian politics is riddled with tribal and regional allegiance.
South East is devoid of Federal built infrastructure, a fact you cannot dispute.
If the Federal Government is borrowing funds to finance infrastructural projects, across regions,
that will be paid back by all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or region, then
the South East should also be captured in their development plan.
From your posts, South East is completely left out from the infrastructural development budget.

Note: my emphasis is on infrastructural projects.

@op this what a supposed Nigerian posted on this thread. Go through it and see for yourself. I copied it verbatim.....

https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south/8#50615838

bankyman:
I think the SE not being captured in this spending speaks a lot about the country and the government (Good or Bad). Because there is a region called the SE means that when we spend on infrastructure they must be captured? But yes they should....

Looking at the spending, there is nothing in which the SE is asking for that is new? They are all projects initiated before this government, abandoned and now its being looked into to be revitalized and completed. If there is no project to be completed in the SE, it means their leaders have been playing with their future and they were dancing to the rhythm played by the bad leaders blindly or this government is reaaly bad and trying to sideline them.

So whats the noise for? Is it that none of the project wont benefit them? They claim to be the commercial capital (Topic for another day), so if they really are what they say they are, they should be the ones jumping for joy as it means quick and super access to raw materials across the federation.

Now few questions for Ndi Igbo

1. Why the support for GEJ who left you in this impoverished state?
2. Why support for anything anti PMB govt. yet cry for attention for him?
3. Why can't there be a regional organisation from all the SE states with the aim of putting infrastructures across the region?
4. Why situate most of your organisations in Lagos when you could have developed the SE and get the FG looking at the region?

My piece of advice is that Ndi Igbo should look inwards to come out stronger, you claim to be the best and have nothing to show for it. Take a cue from Lagos, if you develop yourself others will come looking for you (you didn't develop Lagos, all you guys did well was to swell the population with people who prefer substandard in bulk than little in quality, I'd really wish you guys got Biafra and leave). One of the reasons this borrowing is devoid of the SE is because there is nothing there to boost the economy really (not completely absent though), Population you don't have, resources is scarce, infrastructure too is devoid, you are intolerable to visitors, and the best brains are either in Lagos doing good or bad and the rest committing one form of illegality or the other thinking they are growing the economy.

Really I ask and I beg for answers What Is There to Invest In In the SE?

N.B

Lagos = ports, diversity, good governance, self dependency, "Oil"
North central, North West, North East = Population & Large expanse of Land
SS = Oil
SE =

Now you can see the average mindset of the typical Nigerian toward South East (Igbo). Do you expect us to keep quiet? I have a lot to say, but I'll not.... We are taking note of everything.... I'm still very young, and there are millions of my kind that are watching and taking note.....

This thread is in response to the thread below which state the south-east zone was totally excluded from all planned project to be financed by the $29.96 billion foreign loan:
https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south

After reading through the report in the thread above and digesting the contents (including comments), some questions have been going through my mind.
Below is an extract from the report:

A very quick look through the list above shows that the projects are purely projects that benefit Nigeria as a whole, not any particular section of the country. I may be wrong on this assumption and would be glad if someone can prove me wrong.

If the all important 3050mw Mambilla Hydro Dam project in Taraba state is completed, it would single-handedly almost double Nigeria's power generation capacity and to the best of my understanding, the 3050mw produced will not be distributed only in the north (would be nice if someone can tell me I am wrong on this assumption).

Secondly, one begins to wonder whether the all important Calabar to Lagos Rail would not also be used by Nigerians of south eastern origins. This very rail connects the Calabar Seaport and the Onne Seaport in Port-Harcourt, and the last time I checked, the rail goes through the industrial city of Aba and connects Aba to the 2 most important Port cities in the south. Reading through the comments on that thread, I never knew Aba had been erased from the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria (I would be glad again if someone tells me my knowledge of geography is outdated).

Taking a look the other items on the list from the Eurobond to the Budget support, the Education/health/Agriculture support funds, I still wonder how it was concluded that these interventions funds would not be beneficial to the common man from the south-east.

In summary, could it just be that some divisive persons have chosen to deliberately distort information to deceive hordes of gullible persons and promote their political ideologies?

There are 4 infrastructural projects there listed;
- Lagos to Kano Rail
- Calabar to Lagos Rail
- Abuja FCT city rail
- Mambilla hydro power dam

Lagos to kano railway goes through the SW, NC and NW. The Calabar to Lagos railway goes through the SS, SE (Aba) and SW. The Mambilla dam is to supply 3050mw of electricity to the whole of Nigeria. These projects are clearly not region or zone specific, they are national projects. If we were talking of building universities, airports, roads, etc, then we could argue about projects being shared across zones or not. But man, just take a deep look at those 4 projects, if we must be deeply honest with ourselves, if we must really leave sentiments aside and if we must put pre-programmed prejudices aside, what exactly is really wrong with the FG completing these projects?

It don't matter what people say about you, I don't give a damn what people say or think about me. I know who I am, Igbos are a great people and Igbos don't even need the government to survive and prosper. What I do not understand however is the recent continuous lamentations and continuous wailings of a lot of Igbos especially since 2015. It belittles the Igbo nation and it smacks of inferiority complex. Take a look at this thread for instance and lets focus on it, I have been asking, how exactly do these 4 projects exclude the SE?.... Is it really everything we have to cry about?

The real question is, how exactly is the SE excluded from these 4 projects?... and which zones exactly are specifically captured in the planned projects?.. because all I see here are national projects not specific to any place.

Is it the mambilla dam which will supply 3050mw into the national grid?... must the hydro dam be situated in my village before I know I have been fairly treated?... For the record I can't even have a hydro dam in my village.

Then we have the Lagos to Kano rail (crosses SW, NC and NW), and Calabar to Lagos rail (crosses SS, SE, SW). Okay the argument may be that it crosses only one SE city of Aba. C'mon, lets be honest with ourselves, is it really everything we have to cry about?

I was only painting a picture of an independent, progressive people. That the Igbos don't need the FG to survive doesn't mean the FG should abandon the SE. But with regards to these 4 projects listed, I don't see any big deal warranting this outcry. If we get to 2017 and the FG still doesn't do something about the Onitsha owerri road for instance, then that should be a genuine reason for threads like this, not these mambilla dam and rail projects.

Well, maybe that is just my opinion; these are old projects which have been in the books for years, I think they benefit all and not necessarily any particular zone(s). In my opinion, there are other good reasons to complain regarding the FG's neglect of the SE zone for ages, but this very case of these 4 projects, I think the complaints are needless since these are national projects that benefit all.

Just like I said, this is just my opinion.
