Normality:

My friend stop lying, your cocoa never did anything for former Eastern Nigeria, where the present Niger-Delta mostly fell in. Your Cocoa proceeds only built you cocoa house, Western Nigeria Tv Network and perhaps Ibadan.
The time Cocoa was earning for Western Nigeria, Eastern Side was also earning and building industrial layouts with Coal, Oil Palm and rubber.

Go read Ekwueme's recent interview to have a grasp.

Then Nigeria was practicing regionalism and each zone that had resources kept 50%, gave central govt 25% and the regional government took 25%. Nobody was feeding anybody.

Go learn ur history.

Yes sir, sorry sir, Historian of our time.

If Naija is going to break I pray it breaks when you are still alive so that you can feel the effects of break up. You ppl feel it's as easy as you dream.
Good luck to everyone wishing we don't remain as one entity.

What kind of contradicting talk is that?
Nope! He didn't plan to make 50 Nigerians he knows billionaires. He only needed to make 50 Naija men and women, known or not by him billionaires. You got it?

when you people try to sound intelligent you end up sounding uninformed. ..

Niger deltans were lazy while Abuja allocates oil blocks to whoever they feel like

If this man can make someone else a billionaire, and say it (supposedly).

You can only imagine how much of a "gazillionaire" he made himself and his family.

And yet in some people's imagination, although I hate to bring this up, GEJ was the most corrupt president that Africa has ever seen. Some people's herd mentality is astounding. Open ur eyes my people.

At least the woman is a legitimate billionaire, and she employs hundreds of people. The people GEJ made billionaires chopped alone, and stashed their loot away in foreign banks, which doesn't benefit the Nigerian economy in anyway.

Even though OBJ government was rife with lots of corruption allegations, his policies to date have been the best, turning Nigeria into an economic legacy.

From OBJ the following happened

1. Revolutionised banking sector that brought in the likes of Zenith, the Elumelu's, the Ibru's, Diamond bank, etc

2. Revolutionised Telecom industry that brought in the likes of MTN, GLO and a host of mid sized to small sized telecom industries

3. Marginal oil field companies. Providing rooms and opportunities for oil fields considered uneconomic by the big players to be given to Nigerian companies. This brought in the expanding midwestern oil and gas companies and others like platform petroleum, etc

4. Small scale manufacturing companies got a life and places like Aba and Nnewi saw a reverberation

5. The Nigerianisation element came to fore, forcing big companies to give juicy management and ownership slots to Nigeria

6. The famous and outstanding fight that made the paris club write off the big debts we struggled with for years. Thanks to both OBJ and NOI

7. Economic policies which was followed through by both Yaradua and GEJ made Nigeria the biggest economy in Africa

I give OBJ a big credit. If only corruption was nipped, you know the rest...!!!

Obasanjo had great, excellent economic team. Not like the unqualified team Buhari has, largely from nepotism and cronyism.

99% of so-called Yoruba billionaires made their money from Niger Delta oil. From Adenuga to Otedola to Obat to Tinubus/Oando to Alakija to Folawiyo to many more; virtually all of them from Niger Delta oil. Niger Delta people...You see why they love One Nigeria so much!
Some of the names you mentioned are scions of financial empires that have nothing to do with ND oil.

Wahab Folawiyo didn`t make his money from ND oil.
Folawiyo Energy Ltd. headed by Tunde Folawiyo that`s into Oil & Gas is a subsidiary of Yinka Folawiyo Group of Companies.

Obat gets his oil from Ilaje.
You should understand what I left unsaid.
Adenuga also probably gets his oil from Ondo State since most reports claim Conoil is the first indeginous oil company to discover oil in commercial quantity in the state.

The Tinubu fam. has always been wealthy, right from the time of Madam Efunroye Tinubu.
Saying the fam. became well-heeled from leeching ND oil is ridiculous.

Kikikikiki!

Keep deceiving yourselves. Among the three women I mentioned, she is the least to become a self-made billionaire without corruption and government dash dash.

Someone said import waiver is corruption because the bulk went to Easterner but allocation of Oil Well freely isn't corruption worth probing.

Diezani Madueke (who we were told that her wages can't buy her golden ornaments) can't in any way be compared to Folorunsho Alakija (a mere tailor) in anyway in Oil business and operations, yet her oil deals are corruption while Alakija's is doggedness.

Who be mumu in this contraception called Nigeria? Why not treat everyone equally, irrespective of region and use the same rule of law for every Dike, Tope and Haruna for a mutual sense of belonging.

Sometimes reading comments like this make me wonder whether some people read what they type or type while sleep walking.
How can any normal person compare the owner of an oil well to a First Lady or a government official? What business venture does PJ engage herself in to rake in billions to warrant the comparison. How does being an employee of shell make you a billionaire? Must we support wanton looting and insensitive destruction and pilfering of our commonwealth on the altar of ethnic bigotry? This is extremely sad!

What do you mean by a "mere tailor"?
She learnt her vocation in reputable schs(I think).
And lest I forget,Amancio Ortega who deals in the stuff made by "mere tailor(s)" is always ranked among the top 5 richest men in the world.
Tailors fashion designers are not "mere" afterall.

Go through your post again. You'll realise that all the women you compared with Folorunsho Alakija are public office holders.

No one gave a fork about them before they stepped into the national scene.

Nairalanders, so many of whom do not understand government, would not understand what Obasanjo just said. Government actually is for the people and makes people richer or poorer indirectly, or even directly. We all belong to government and government belongs to us. For madam Alakija to talk like this, it shows she is clueless on what made her rich. She should accept that she had it easy, borrow a leaf from Dangote - always respectful of past, present and future government even when he is into manufacturing and selling.

WHat a shame

the Baboon from Ogun made her a billionaire at the expense of crude oil from ND creeks.... Thisman Obasanjo, when he came
out of prison was having only
N20,000 rich. Obasanjo was in
prison for three years and his Ota
farm which was in bankruptcy
then was almost sold. They were
thinking of how to sell most of his
properties. Today, Obasanjo’s farm
is rated as one of the richest in
the world, all in a space of eight
years that he governed Nigeria. If
that is not corruption, then I don’t
know what corruption means. If
that is not abuse of office, then I
do not know what abuse of office
means.
Eight years of self-centred
disposition, eight years of wayo,
eight years of deception, eight
years of creating a few rich
people, eight years of anti-masses
programmes, eight years of
deliberate junketing all over the
world, eight years of make-believe,
eight years of dictatorship, eight
years of lack of coherent policies,
eight years of so much wealth
coming to the hands of
government out of which
Nigerians received aggravated
poverty and economic pain....
