yubiman:How much do you buy it? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 7:22pm On Oct 29, 2016 |
Gptech: I actually use a 32gig version of the note 3. Do you clear cache after updating? I just realised that helps the phone in maintaining its stability. |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 9:42pm On Oct 29, 2016 |
2kurupt:No, I don't, might try that out though I don't think its necessary for weekly updates via OTA |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 9:47pm On Oct 29, 2016 |
vosquare:Its obvious your issue has to do with the bugs, in terms of battery performance for my device it's dsame with miui 8 as it was with miui 7. |

Hello house... Planning on getting the Xiaomi rednote 4 3gb ram 64gb device (MTK version) soon... Can someone please help me out with a review of this particular version? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Gptech(m): 12:03am On Oct 30, 2016 |
Worksunlimited:There is no version, the redmi note 4 has only mtk socs. This is the link to the review from gsmarena http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_note_4-review-1504.php |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 5:32am On Oct 30, 2016 |
vosquare: Yeah I use the MTK version of the note 3. Sorry for the late response. Here's the official China Dev rom am currently using=> http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.9.29/miui_HMNote3_6.9.29_1dbf35c044_5.0.zip Here is the latest version=> http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.10.27/miui_HMNote3_6.10.27_ec55d1a232_5.0.zip Follow this link to flash it via updater app(this only works if you're already on an official rom)=> http://en.miui.com/a-232.html This rom comes with zero bloatware or unnecessary tweaks thus no pressure on your battery & background activity from my observation. Alternatively you can flash via SP Tool Hope you've a PC? Don't forget to copy your entire media files unto your system because SP Flash tool will wipe your phone clean. Since you're having a buggy performance personally I'll prefer this method though it is more rigorous=> http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=294318&highlight=Flash%2BChina%2BDev%2Brom Least I forget if you used SP Tool flashing method then you'll have to install gapps for Google services & play store yourself. Install those via this link then update them to the latest version when done=> http://xiaomitips.com/download/google-installer-app/ After running all these I hope you get a better optimized device like mine. Cheers |

Harus: There's nothing to prove man, he obviously has a buggy rom installed. That's why I chose to stick with an official rom that gets steady updates & bug fixes via OTA. With the rate at which these miui geeks are all churning out their own roms one can easily get confused PS: I observe that the weekly updates perform differently too. So when I see one that's very stable with good battery backup I don't rush to update. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by vosquare: 6:43am On Oct 30, 2016 |
2kurupt:I happen to be on stable rom, so I'm porting to developer |

Gptech: Be like u no read wetin I write well before u comment... We dey talk about the same device... I am only interested in its 3gb ram 64gb MTK version... And na that one i need im review.. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by GrandMufti: 7:44am On Oct 30, 2016 |
Worksunlimited: For now the device is for only for the Chinese market. So there is no 'version' per se. I will advice you to save your money and watch the direction miui is heading to. No point in buying a great device with a mediocre OS. But if you are keen on the device, then go for it. 1 Like |

Worksunlimited: Bro I just got the 3gb ram 64gb version and it is awesome. Am still setting up and trying to unlock the bootloader. It came with global rom. No issues at all. Go for it by all means |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Nsonaso(m): 9:12am On Oct 30, 2016 |
iheanyi4u:Why unlocking bootloader... With locked bootloader Xiaomi security is unbreakable https://www.nairaland.com/3351738/xiaomi-security-best-android |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 40manlappy: 10:02am On Oct 30, 2016 |
Nsonaso: Interesting. But is it possible to port from Stable ROM to Global ROM without unlocking bootloader? cc: 2kurupt |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by iXavier: 10:12am On Oct 30, 2016 |
Does the 2GB RAM version of RN3 use the same ROM with the Pro version? Is there any difference, am not talking about specs |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by vosquare: 10:12am On Oct 30, 2016 |
2kurupt:Did u reset your phone after flashing? How did u root yours? How did u unlock your bootloader? Thanks tho.. I'll download the rom |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Nsonaso(m): 10:49am On Oct 30, 2016 |
40manlappy: Every Xiaomi MIUI ROM flashing is possible without unlocking bootloader. unlocking boot loader is only required when you want to move to from MIUI to other third party ROM. BUT for me know other ROM I love like MIUI, though I love Lewa OS, FLYM OS and Huawei EMUI. but MIUI the best. 1 Like |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 12:05pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
vosquare: No rooting or bootloader unlocking required to start the procedure. Do read thru the instructions in the links properly in order to avoid mistakes. As a matter of fact I can't remember the last time I rooted my phone, with miui I don't really see the need to especially since you'll lose root whenever you update. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by Worksunlimited: 12:22pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
iheanyi4u: Awesome.. When u say unlock it's bootloader.. What do u mean? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 2kurupt(m): 12:30pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
GrandMufti: What exactly makes the SOC mediocre? Am sure you dunno why American kids online keep saying snapdragon is more superior to Mediatek even when they've not used the two just coz it's a Taiwanese company. FYI Americans the world over promote their products no matter how inferior they're to that of other countries's products because of patriotism. It's purely an American agenda in it's bid for world domination What device are you using let's see how un"mediocre" it performs against mine? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by GrandMufti: 12:35pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
2kurupt: I'm talking about mediocre 'OS' i.e Miui and not chipset. You just carry this mtk vs sd thing for head. |
