Personally the complaint last season was not our finishing. We lacked quality final balls. Of course you can't blame the strikers for this. Or if we're to look at it, were we losing chances for fun last season?
We weren't even getting in the opposition box last season.

And I share your sentiment.
Rooney has been ruined by playing multiple positions.
He's gotten worse since SAF started deploying him as a MF.

"I think we helped him [Heaton] because we missed some chances - he gained confidence from that and got into the game. He’s a good goalkeeper but in spite of that, we should have scored a goal.

"I think the team performance was positive and we had a lot of energy, we created chances and I think we also did well in defence, we didn't give much away. We were on top of them. We didn't give them any space.

"We played attacking football and I think that's what the people want to see. The only thing is we had to finish. It was a bit frustrating [not to score].

"Even when we had 10 men, Burnley were so much back into their own box and we created a few chances. It sounds like I am repeating myself but I think that was the story of the game.

"It is hard to believe we didn’t score one goal. I hope it's just one of those days because we have some great strikers and some great midfielders who can score goals well. I'm not worried about that. I will try to see it as one of those days."

Of all the signings we made Mhki was the one I was really looking forward to. The position he is supposed to fill was the one giving me concern last season. We hardly created chances, always moving balls from right to left and back to right again with zero penetration. I hope he sorts himself out asap

Is there any objection to what he said?! Didn't we really play attacking and interesting Football?

We shouldn't succumb to Emotion, and letting it to becloud our good sense of Judgment.

Really don't understand you at times?! What else do you want Mata to do in the Hole?! Is he not creating chances?!

If eventually JM tries out Mkhitaryan in the Position and he flops miserably, I wonder what else you would say!

SMH..... this ain't the best way to support a Club. Have you heard of the Phrase - for better for worse?! I think you should learn it from the Arsenal Fans.

We have a world Class Manager, we are playing well and the Team is improving..... I believe we wouldn't be saying all these if the chances were converted. Fans like you would have been sing-praising Mata as the best 10 in the World, Pogba - the best B2B and Herrera - the best holding Midfielder.

People like you were the one wanting GEJ out, but now wailing - this is not the CHANGE we asked or prayed for. I'm getting pissed by your comments and posts to be candid..... if you are kinda exhausted of patience with the Manager and the Players - you can move on Dude!

I have never criticised Mata. The only ones I have criticised are Pogba and Mourinho so me no understand all these your epistles. Piers Morgan is one of the biggest arsenal fan and also one of the highest critic of Wenger and Arsenal. I guess he hates his club so much.

Many would agree that Pogba has not been ok for us and he needed to criticised so he remains professional. He needed to set his priority straight. Personal records can't come without team glory. Yesterday he was more tactically disciplined and is that not what we have been crying for? If he adjusts and help out the team and we begin to gather points wouldn't it make us all happy? Everyone gets criticised. RM, barca, Pep etc so why shouldn't Pogba or Mourinho be criticised? If you not interested in good football I am. Forgive me for being a fan of United for so long and gotten used to dominating matches.

Pls who's the god of Manchester?? He's only aspiring to be, he has not proven it yet - but no doubt Ibra is a world class Striker. His hold up play is second to none! He's simply unfortunate in front of Goals at the moment.

Perhaps he should take a place on the Bench in our next Game. He needs to rediscover his goal scoring form, and I trust him to prove the Doubters wrong sooner!

Rooney was pushed around and the quality of those around him helped him to grow a lot. I remember reading somewhere some time ago about Giggs seriously warning CR7 about some habits. Those stuffs helped Kids to grow a lot then. Who is helping Rashford? Ibra that misses chances like it's nothing? Also not everybody must take the same path as Rooney. I even think that's what is affecting Rooney right now. Jack of all, master of none.

Your last sentence contradicts your first sentence.

The substitutions were okay, except Mephis De Pay. The moment we went 1 man down, Burnley took over dominace and they were ready to bully us with long balls into our box. Mourinho quickly had to react with Rooney and Fellaini. I thought these two guys exceeded expectations considering the situation. We were able to regain possession with good spread of the ball and pressure. Mephis made us look like we played with 9 men. May be Young should have come in.
I don't claim to know more than Jose Mourinho in this field but in my opinion the substitutions were as poor as possible.

If he needed to regain control of the midfield after the red card incident, he had the perfect candidate in Micheal Carrick. Further forward Zlatan Ibrahimović was firing blanks, no need to remove Juan Mata who was having an excellent game. Mouroune Fellaini replacing his height to win high balls near the box is logical and Marcus Rashford moved in the box.

There was no justification introducing Wayne Rooney. The rest were having an A-game. The coach panicked!

You say this because we didn’t lose the game. Sometimes people apply sentiments in judgement. Rooney and Fellaini have already made haters.

We played for 72 minutes without scoring. When we went 10 men, we immediately conceded our dominance. Our DM had been red carded, the only combative midfielder on the day. Our two center backs are not good in the air. Carrick would have been a wrong choice. Fellaini was to combat the threats from long balls. A lot of running needed to be done, and I think Rooney did well going up and down while also helping us to switch play left and right which helped us regain dominance. At the end there was no difference with playing 11 and playing 10. We pressed and created load of chances with 10 men, and our best chance came that period.

when you need a goal as a coach and your top forward is having an off day, do you replace the man supplying the chances or you replace the man missing the chances? Therein lies your answer.

As for Burnley dominating around the period of the red card is something called "spur of the moment". Nothing threatening with lumping free-kicks in the box. The game would have settled to normal after the realities of that event had sunk in. The reason I said the coach panicked and made wrong substitutions, that's my opinion don't forget.

Wayne Rooney and Mouroune Fellaini have no haters. While I think the latter have his uses and perform his job no matter his limits, I think the former is done and contributes next to nothing. Here's hoping this is his last lap with Manchester United. wink wink smiley

This would have made sense if it were still 11 vs 11. Again we were obviously crumbling, and the slow legs of Mata, his lack of height and sluggish Pogba were bound to let us down. If we had Bailly and Smalling behind them, it could be better. Herrera was the only quick midfielder among them.

Spur of the moment my foot. In the past 6-7 years, the only time we went on to win with ten men was in the FA cup final last season, courtesy of Valencia's quick legs (as long as my memory can remember) . That was after Rooney solo effort in dribbling past three men helped us to equalised Palace, then Smalling was sent off.

Rooney is not done. We saw Rooney against Fernabache. He did very well on the night and helped us to open big spaces in the final third while contributing to two goals. He helped us to win the FA cup last season.

All the things he did in midfield is same that Pogba is doing. For now I see nothing different from what Rooney offered us in midfield last season and what Pogba offered now. Pogba, with all his power, could not race down the field yesterday when Burnley lost possession. Prefect opportunity for counter, Pogba reversed in two occasions. Now we count his pass accuracy, his long rage pass. Rooney did better than these when he returned from injury towards the end of last season.

Rooney and Carrick pairing against Everton, Palace, Bournemouth, etc last season saw Rooney being compared to Scholes. Now Pogba can't even give that performance.

11 vs 11
71 mins of action.
Manchester United 0 Burnley 0
Old Trafford

Pogba was there. Ibrahimovic was there. Mata was there.

But the blame should go to Rooney and Fellaini who came to help to stabilize our play in the last 19 minutes when we played 10 men. Haba!

Pogba, £89m,
£290k/week
On field for 90 minutes, but could not produce a magic moment against Burnley. But Rooney must be the scapegoat. If Rooney made even the bench in our 4-0 loss to Chelsea, he would still have been made the scapegoat.

Now Pogba is labelled a world class for producing good passing accuracy (88%)against Burnley in a 0-0 draw, a pass accuracy lower than United passing success of 89%. In a high tension FA cup semi final at Wembley, Rooney produced higher pass accuracy (92%), even though United pass success was 86%

cheesy Just knew you wouldn't take that. Rooney was a top runner in his days. Always there to start the counter and finish it. I believe it has taken a toll on his game. Most times when he's in the midfield his passes are always diagonal. Long passes to the wing but we saying let's see if there's someone that can make direct passes. Rooney used to be a handful for any defence but right now Rashford with no experience and all will create more problems any day. Rooney is undoubtedly a legend. I wouldn't blame him for any of our poor performances or loss. The wise thing to do any day is to leave when the ovation is the loudest. And I hope CR7 knows this too. Players like these that have given everything don't deserve to be remembered by the negatives and coaches trying to ease them out of the team.

I want to believe Rashford is having a big weight lifted off him at the moment. Last season, he went 5 games without a goal after his first two games where he scored 4 goals. Then he returned to scoring form against City. Towards the end of the season he scored one goal in 6 matches, having four straight match goals drought.

It is not like when he goes to the number 9 he will perform magic. The manager is using his speed to the fullest while saving him from criticism in the process. If Rashford went 5 goals without a goal from the number 9 position, hmmm he might be relegated like De Pay.
