Overhypedsteve made an excellent contribution on the requirement of additional communication satellites. There is no wisdom in my opinion in investing in a purely communications satellite at this point.


Nigerian Satellites are usually dual purpose, multipurpose actually. As long as they got good cloud penetrating cameras, purpose severed. Secured communication lines, excellent camera and geological capabilities we are good to go. 100 Nigerian army personnel are trained on and currently work with NIGCOMSAT1R. The same thing would apply to these two (2) new satellites.

Not really,they all don't work same way ,it's a step toward securing the nation.and don't forget they also serve as security satellites.

But we do need a dedicated military satellite

Beautiful Eko Atlantic, one of the world's most ambitious projects rising up from the depths of the sea and our hard-working navy sailing and flying effortlessly by with a giant Nigerian flag.

I absolutely agree, the next 5 years will represent something great in the history of Lagos economy, Lekki deep sea port, dangotes $15 billion refinery and petrochemical plant and a while new city rising out of the Atlantic.

I'm still trying to figure out what the occasion was, the navy does not randomly roll out the giant flag.

The economy of Lagos is set to explode further. There are lots of projects that would soon come on stream.


It probably was for Navy week, i'm judging from the level of work on Eko Pearl Towers in Eko Atlantic city. They've advanced much more than that stage, as represented in the photo.

My money is on Navy day. With the Navy, i just hope we get to see more local, bigger naval builds.
