We have only managed to get 3 points from our last 4 matches despite playing two lowly teams at home - it is perfectly in order for fans to be disgruntled and dissapointed....

It's more than 3 seasons since Sir Alex left yet we cannot be said to be where we ought to be despite the huge investments in the said period - looking for positives after dropping points against minnows like Stoke and Burnley at Old Trafford....probably with the satisfaction of CL qualification at the end of the season literarily sums up how badly we have regressed in ambitions and expectations. The truth is that we simply cannot continue to use Fergie's retirement as an excuse ay longer.

As things are, i'd prefer scrappy wins over "unfortunate" draws/losses - points accrued over the course of a season determine how well a team finishes...definitely not "positives" from matches where we should be winning convincingly.
some things are beyond control tho. The games against Stoke & Burnley, & even the Watford loss were games we should absolutely have had the points. It's not happening @ the moment yet we can't turn a blind eye to the general effort of the team. We have missed gazillions of chances this season & this can't be brushed off like that.

The disruption of team chemistry cannot be overemphasized. Martial has been stop-start so far, Rashford off position, now the defense. They may sound like excuses but this is the reality. Officiating has hardly gone our way this season as far as EPL is concerned & right now they will have negative effects cuz there is no real winning mentality in the team. It is still our duty to play above the referees powers & we will get there.

Mouthinho still has work to do but in my eyes he's learning by the day. Removing Rooney from the start team, trying & dropping Pogba-Zlatan combo upfront, putting a +ve line up against City, are some of the right steps he's taken so far. Perhaps soon he'll incorporate Carrick more, realize Zlatan is also aged like Carrick & find a way to manage his playing time for optimum performances.

what some fans don't know yet is that Woodward is bent on mirroring Real Madrid & will continue to dole out mega bucks until the club is regularly competing @ the latter stages of the UCL again. Like Madrid too, it took some time to work amidst taunts from Barca fans. Now how far?

No serious minded club will buy Lukaku.

no surprises there. Clattenburg is always like that. On a day he's out to frustrate you, your name na sorry. Make them shoot person gun sef, he fit say gbe ra nothing dey happen.

Forget the penalties sef, that was the first time I see a player get sent off for a slip. I was just laughing like, "which kind reffing be this one?"

We should be scoring soon if Jose maintains a positive approach no matter the opponent. Truth be said, no team in England should warrant us revert to parking a bus. But I can give benefit of doubt for now, looking @ where the team is coming from.
Lol. If person don too do u strong thing, at some point u go just dey laff ni.

The first one, we fit say na dive. The 2nd one, he fit argue say he no see am. But the third one was just plain ridiculous.

The officiating this season has really been terrible.

Hopefully our attack gets sorted out and fast. Coz we cant keep going like this.

My own "philosophy" grin is that a team with genuine title ambitions should be rock solid at home - the performances do not neccesarily have to be stellar at all times but the side just has to grind out results even under unfortunate circumstances....especially against lowly sides...

After only 10 league games, We have already dropped 7 points at Old trafford (4 against mediocre sides) and with the way things are going, even you yourself wouldnt bet against us dropping more points (at home)

Forgive my pessimism but the truth is that we might not win too many games away from home either - one of the reasons why some peeps here are disappointed with the recent result(s)......despite the "positives".

By the time he learn finish;

*How many points would we have forfeited?

*What would be our position on the table?

*Most importantly ; would it still be possible to salvage the season and meetup with the laid-down goals & objectives?

Ofcourse a new manager might need some time to fashion out tactics & selections that would suit his team best. Injuries, form, luck etc are also inevitable factors that have to be considered over the course of a season. However, the margin for errors should be kept to the barest minimum and one of the best ways to do so is to win home matches vs the Stokes & Burnleys of the EPL irrespective of the prevailing conditions whatsoever..especially with the presence of our best players.

The season is still long & there are still many games to play but i just hope that at the end, we wouldnt have cause to look back at these missed opportunities while lamenting (over) the irreversible consequencies..

Jose Mourinho says he'll need time to build a winning team.

The United boss suffered another difficult weekend with a 0-0 home draw to Burnley.

"We need time, it is always the same story. At some clubs and with some managers they have all the time they want. With others, you demand immediate success of the clubs and the managers.

"That's Manchester United and Jose Mourinho. No problem. It's not the way I prefer, it's just the way it is. It's the way I arrived at the club without Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane or Bryan Robson.

"I arrived later with a very good group of players to work with, but many of them are not the end product. They are not ready. And some of them like Michael (Carrick) are in a period where they are phenomenal but they are not in the group that is 24 or 25."

“It was unbelievable, I was speaking with Juan [Mata] and we both agreed we have never experienced something like that on the pitch. We created 20 or 22 chances, we controlled the game for 90 minutes and to not score is unbelievable. We had the luck against us and hopefully, one day, we can get a fair result like a 5-0 or 6-0 win.

“I didn’t want to make both of the fouls, I’m not a violent player. First yellow card, I bent my knee and didn’t want to kick the opponent. The second, I slipped.

“Of course, we want to fight for everything, we have lost four points that we should have won easily but this is football and the Premier League. I don’t know if a team has been unlucky as we have been in this game.

“The dressing room was completely disappointed because of the way we played. We have to keep our heads up because we’ve done a lot of good things.

“We have to keep going, we cannot cry or complain. We just have to keep playing the way we did today, against Liverpool, Stoke and Fenerbahce. I think we are in the right way but today is one of the toughest days of my career because we deserved to win 6-0 but it was difficult.

“He’s (Mata) a top player – it’s so easy to play with him. He always gives me the ball in the right condition and he played fantastic. Everyone did very well. I want to speak about Luke Shaw as well because he did fantastic and we need him.

“Marcus Rashford played very good and Marcos Rojo played fantastic. Only Paul Pogba can do what he did today [against Burnley] in the second half and the personality he showed on the pitch is unbelievable.

“The way I think is to win the next game – Fenerbahce. Win and deserve to win. Swansea – deserve to win and win. To think long term is wrong. Hopefully we can get a few wins in a row.”

Nearly cannot kill a bird. Even Mourinho has acknowledged the quality is poo. A Juan Mata orchestrated team will always end up many points below the leaders. Chelsea finished 6th with Mata, and then finished 3rd with many points below the Champions, United. Mata left and Chelsea won the league in style.

The quality of the chances will always be poo with these kind of slow players. Before you pass your way down the field, the opposite had regroup. Of course there will be days they might win 5-0, but disappointments will soon follow.

We should cancel the number 10 and play two strikers. Play Valencia/Young on the right wing.

Juan Mata's game by numbers vs. Burnley:

100% pass accuracy

100% take-ons
100% tackles won
50 passes
7 chances created
6 shots

What else did you expect him to do in the Match, and prove himself as a classic, world class 10?

Though I also want us switching to 4-4-2 Formation, but I will rather prefer a Diamond Midfield - with Herrera/Fellaini/Carrick at the Base, Mata/Mkhtaryan at the Crown, Pogba on the Left and Herrera/Mkhtaryan on the Right.

Rooney and Ibra can play together upfront, or Martial and Rashford. Also Ibra and either Martial or Rashford can pair upfront.

Dude! What sort of opio is this?

A man that scored 33 goals and provided 58
assists in 135 appearances over two-and-a-
half seasons with Chelsea is a man that has failed in his duty to pull the strings for his team mates?.

A man that was twice voted as chelseas player of the year in successive seasons and was also short listed for the PFA player of the year is the reason why his team would always end up being behind the leaders?

What were the other 10 MEN SUPPOSED TO DO? Or was the club then called "mata the superman of chelsea fc?" So its solely his fault for those final positions?

Manchester United 0 Burnley 0

I hate the slow build up. Even if we played a Nani in number 10 in his hey days, he could have forced a goal or Assists against Burnley with 70% pass accuracy. I saw counter attacks situation but Pogba and Mata would rather return to pass back.

Remember Lampard behind a striker, he pressures with force until he forces the defence to make a mistake for his team mate to score, or he scored scores himself.

All these stats do not matter. There are players that are specialists in gathering individual stats for themselves. I always preferred some other players to Mata when at Chelsea. I usually don't rate passers, though. I think it is the simplest thing to do. I will take young Lampard over many of those passers we have now.

I always preferred Hazard to Mata. In that Chelsea 2011/2012 team, I loved to see Ramires, Malouda. Mata was just one of those players to me.

The only good thing about Ramirez was his versatility and hardwork just like willan.
They have no end product. If you have up to 3 players like that in your Team, you're finished. We once finished 6th in the league with these players.

If na me talk am now insults go follow. You can't be at united and be hoping for scrappy wins. Of course once in a while we will definitely struggle to win or leave disappointed like our last match. Winning matches convincingly puts teams on the back foot such that when they come against us they prefer to sit back and defend. This cancels the event of us conceding goals. Of course if we don't concede we can't lose.

In summary we need that fear factor. It worked for us a lot under SAF. Teams that could have a go at us may decide to sit back and defend because we have been beating teams with high goal difference.
