Middle-belt consists of Kwara, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nassarawa & Adamawa. Some people have included the southern part of Kaduna and southern Kebbi into the mix.

The region is made up of diverse ethnic groups, who have their own distinct identity. They are not Hausa indigenes.
