are u saying there is no need for sops?cos its even a part of the requirement by cic
it's part as you said but never a compulsory requirement.if your application is straight and forward without complexity..i see no reason for it..but in some instances you would feel to justify your purpose of visit, carefully mind what you pen down.
Meanwhile if given a study grant like scholarship and the likes, explicitly write one for the Vo to comprehend your funds.

Please i need your comments. My admission was deferred till fall 2017 because my application was refused. Is it advisable to send another application in November for a program that is scheduled for August 2017, My friend in Canada has advised that i wait till next year becos sending an early application might probably work against me and attract a reason for refusal. Whats your opinion pls....
is better to wait a little time, say feb

I understand your thought 100%, but CIC don change their pattern.
Please kindly check my previous posts,(I think 3-4 post before this) I updated it on here, including information from the GCMs file.
It shall end well IJN.

Folaroyal:

Bro, kindly share reason for refusal then. It's somewhat unfair though.... why make applicants spend money to do medicals when you know you wont approve their visas. Medical should be the final phase for issuance.

Bro thanks so much for throwing more light. We are all here to learn from one another and also help each other.

metrecube:

From june/july last year approval after medical passed is 50 - 50. It is not matter either you re called for medical or you did upfront. The reason is best known to cic. What i think is that they do preliminary checking of ur document, if its okay they will call you for medical or update your medical as passed. After that they do final checking of ur application. Final checking is d most critical stage where they will confirm ur document may be they are bogus or not. Another thing we need to know is that not all upfront medicals are updated as passed before they are being denied. Some applications with upfront medicals are refused without passing medicals.

The main thing we need is God's grace on our applications. Lets package our applications well and hope for the best. God will not fail us.

It shall definitely end well.

Thanks bro... you just said it all as well.
it shall end well.

Lemme chip in an elderly experience,People here just get nervous even with mere notification that ur application "has been forwarded to Canada for processing"..why draining yourself emotionally on just one country? instead of using the waiting period to explore other options atleast having an admission at hand while waiting on Canada.Canadian VOs are unpredictable.you may satisfy the whole requirements and still get refused, while some other with mediocre application will be granted.

Meanwhile, upfront medical oo,late medical call oo,early medical call oo,medical status changed to passed is no longer guarantee that you would be approved visa..

Until you get passport request if online application and status approved if linked online to CIC for paper routers before you may start atleast jubilating till you pick up you package from VFS,you can now paint the city white and red.

Lastly we should be careful about writing LOE/SOPs especially to PGC(D)/diploma applicants here.some refusals i have seen, show that the VOs try capitalizing on that to question ones purpose of visit in some cases which also in my perception according to some applicants profile is a reason to merely discard an application if they don't want to issue.

Pray for luck.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Leakingbasket(m): 6:53am On Nov 01, 2016
Bros I did read your first statement 'ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE' LOL. Leave the issue of either medical call or upfront medical, that still does not guarantee you a visa. Kindly read posts from mid last year, I think you will understand better.
I no come here to attack you ooo... we are all learning.
Best of luck bro, it shall end well.

abestine:

Please read the first statement ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, I didn't say it's not possible. The fact that I was denied after doing upfront doesn't mean someone else will be denied after doing upfront and dat u were denied after been called to go for medical doesn't mean someone else will be denied after been called, different strokes for different folks.

abestine:

It is almost impossible to be denied after being called for medicals. [s]Those who were denied after medicals are mostly people who did medicals upfront.[/s] Application assessment is in stages. The VO verify your documents to see if everything check out, of it does, they contact you approximately after a month of submission to go for medicals.[s] If the result came out as PASSED, this probably takes about another month, they don't have any choice than to send you a letter of congratulations, telling you to go and pick up with international passport with VIsa stamped on it.[/s]

I am talking from experience, I did upfront in my last application, I passed medicals and was denied, if I hadn't done upfront, probably I would have been denied without having to waste money on medicals.
Just what I think though, gurus here can shed more light on that.

Please request a scan copy to your email and print out in colour... postages to Nigeria aren't that reliable except for registered courier companies. You may also want to relax until about February 2017 before mailing your visa application for fall 2017.

Health assessment centres in Lagos open on Saturdays but pls call them to confirm opening times. Q-life in Victoria Island still charges 28k while the IOM in ikeja takes 40k....
I really don't understand why their fees is almost same as visa fees!!!.. Nigeria.... everyone for themselves sad.. no protection for the consumers.

Thanks essyife, but can u throw light on y I shouldn't appeal.
If appealing is not advisable, Should I reapply with strong reason for traveling?
I love Canada more than USA

You may appeal. Buh appeal drains time and resources.
Don't forget that IRCC Act gives visa officers alot of discretion over the application they review. Even if your appeal succeeds, it only succeeds to the extent that your application should be given to another visa officer for review. To save your time and to improve your chances of approval, it is smart and prudent if you apply for your gcms notes and digest the real reason for your refusal. Take your time and tackle it . what's even the probability that your appeal will succeed. I am not being cynical. Just being objective.

So I reapplied this time adding some documents to show my ties to Nija. So I have been tracking my application on VFS platform but for 3 days now the system is saying NO RECORDS FOUND. Canada will start welcoming a minimum of 300,000 immigrants annually in 2017 in order to ease economic pressures linked to an aging population, Immigration Minister John McCallum announced Monday.
The figure, which is in line with this year’s unusually high intake number, however, falls far short of expectations after a report last week proposed a 50 percent increase to 450,000 immigrants annually.
That amount would have set Canada on a path to tripling its population by the century’s end.
“In 2016, we jumped to 300,000 largely as a consequence of our special actions on Syrian refugees,” McCallum said.
“What I am announcing today is that for 2017 we will make that 300,000 permanent and it will become the foundation for future growth in immigration,” he said, adding that this rate is “40,000 above the historic norm.”
More than half of the newcomers will be job seekers and investors admitted under an economic class.
The remainder of the newcomers will include spouses, children or parents of naturalized citizens, refugees, and others admitted on humanitarian or compassionate grounds.
This year’s large influx of immigrants was notably boosted by the urgent resettlement of some 30,000 Syrian refugees in desperate need at the start of the year.
