Watching the UEFA YOUTH LEAGUE between Man city and Barca, an away game. Our boys are schooling those English lads the pure art of football. 66mins and its 0-2. wink

Thing is, not every youth player can get into the first team. Football today has no breeding grounds for trials; you are either proven and acquired or you change careers. If he stays consistent, we buy him back, no wahala. Even J. Alba was bought back after impressing away on sales. So?

Although I am not one who quickly jumps on the bashing train, but I saw this coming and complained about it because Enrique didn't value him and never gave him a chance in the first team. Johnpaul88 countered me and we argued over it at length until it was dropped. I could remember vividly how highly I rated him, but Jp didn't think so. And my concern then was; in a time when there was no suitable backup for Alba, with us having Adriano, it wouldn't have been out of place if he were to transferred to the first team as a backup for Alba. But yet again, Jp didn't see it that way.

Now, I have to state this categorically clear. JP's issue then wasn't because he didn't recognise the quality that Alex Grimaldo possess, but because he was and is always hell-bent in taking sides with Enrique, he had to subscribe to the gaffer's POV. Although, I would have to lay some of the blames to the board too. I said it then and will repeat same now; you can't let go of your precious assets just like that. It's very wrong! Sometimes I don't know why we should be so myopic as to failing in looking at the potentials of some of the players we have. Not to mention how they let Thiago leave... That one still dey pain me die.

Now, I am not a party to what is making rounds for a while now, with some of us creating rather silly hashtags in view of getting Enrique out of the club. I would have to reiterate what I stated a fortnight ago; Enrique has earned our trust and we should respect the fact that he is the manager. Yet, that doesn't mean he doesn't have his shortcomings, and when you decide to keep a blind eye to those shortcomings of his because of maybe you are a fan of him, then it takes away the objectivity that is required from everyone of us.

Anyway, I just wanted to highlight the fact that I gave this dude my backing just around a year ago, and part of the blame, like I pointed out was Enrique's cause he never liked the dude. Well sha... I guess it's all water under the bridge now.

JohnBosco will always take Enrique's side even when Enrique is in the wrong, can't be arsed about his opinions on matters like this.

Buy him back?

When we didn't even put a buyback clause?

If na so then we should get ready with our 50m+ and that's if another big club hasn't poached him already.

I'm not going to argue on this Grimaldo matter..Enrique fücked up.. End of.

I should take your side then ahead of a proven professional that Enrique is? Anyways, I like his personality. No one is beyond mistake .

So now all you people are trying to justify is that the acquisition of L. Digne was not the brightest idea of Enrique....

Hmmm! For the last 2 seasons, by this time, Neymar had been among those topping the scoring chart! But now Hazard even has more goals than him which is quite embarrassing even though Hazard has played more than 2 games more!

It all still boils down to our non-existent midfield and Alba's injuries, so trying to form a good partnership with Digne would take time.

Ayam just looking,

I don't think anyone means that, but if Enrique had just trusted The Guy a little bit, there would have been no need to get Digne! And there is nothing as good as seeing Academy players making it to the 1st team, especially in a club like ours that once boasted to field 11 Academy players and can't currently even boast of any recent Academy product!

I am alpha-numero Neymar apologist wherever I find both fans and non-fans alike casting gloomy aspersions on him, but it is high time we call a spade a spade, rather calling it a mere work tool.

Neymar needs to buckle up. I watched the highlights of the Granada game and Neymar was guilty of some very unforgivably annoying bloopers. If there was a way I could have drawn him out of the television, I would have done so then given him a factory-resetting slap.

He is too playful nowadays and his goal sense seems to have taken a minor detour. If you have watched our last six games you would notice how blunt he has been in front of goal. It could be off-pitch problems that we do not know about.

...

It is true that our midfield is on life support, but then, how come that does not affect Messi or Suarez? Neymar needs to sit up. All these ‘Alba-has-an-injury’ excuses doesn't cut the mustard. He must learn to step up to the plate, especially when key payers are MIA.

For some time now, there havent been any youth player that have made it to the first team. Bar during Messi and Busque's time, there havent been anyone even Roberto knew the kind of quality he had in him to have been able to make it to the first team (even though it wasnt his favourite position).

I mean i support his sale and the acquition of someone more older and more first team experience to a chap that we will need to test his abilities.

No matter the youth potential, let him prove himself. Barca can f*ck out cash to pay for him if need be.

"Messi has scored 16 times in his last 15 appearances against English teams, scoring more Champions League goals against them than sides from any other nation"

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11833/10640073/lionel-messi8217s-champions-league-record-on-english-soil-for-barcelona

Yet they say that Messi would not thrive if he were to compete in the EPL.
