Hello gurus, having issue with my pc keyboard hp win8. For a period of time now i have been unable to browse with my keys cant type with it, anytime i open my browser to type on address bar it just opens a highligted page like it acting on shortcuts and same with ms word cant type with it, and also i cant open a folder unless i highlight before clicking open.

The best option will be for you to ask a friend for an external CD ROM.... I thought you were in Lagos.... Wish i could do more

please see an engineer to service the keyboard or replace it if persists.

Take it to an engineer for general repair and cleaning then.... you don't keep your laptop well

I'd like to know what programs you have starting up with your PC. So do this and post a photo or screenshot.
Press the Windows key + R. In the "Open:" field, type msconfig and press Enter .
Click the Startup tab.
Take a photo/screenshot of that startup tab selected

Your keyboard maybe malfunctioning. First try the keyboard reset option by pressing CTRL + ALT + NUM . Use an external keyboard for best result. if that doesn't resolve it, Get the keyboard out of the laptop and dust it . Put it back in place and test it . If problem persist, I recommend you get a new keyboard. if you havnt got money for a new keyboard, disconnect the keyboard from the motherboard then buy an external keyboard.

Remenber to remove the battery and all source of power from your laptop before attempting to get the keyboard out.

The processor of this laptop ( Intel celeron) is very low and would lag in performance for your video editing. Also video editing requires system with high graphics and I don't think this PC got it.

I am having issues with my keyboard, each time I turn my laptop on it works properly but after like 5mins some keys will stop working and if I use the mouse pointer to scroll down it will automatically scroll back up almost immediately. I noticed this problem about a week ago. I will appreciate if you could provide likely solution to the situation.

try the keyboard reset option by pressing CTRL + ALT+ NUM. You can also try the system restore option to restore your computer back to when it was working optimally.
if that doesn't work, removing, dusting and replacing the keyboard should work.
if problem persist, you may consider reloading your OS.
if problem persist, change to a new keyboard.

Meanwhile you can be using your on-screen keyboard to do your typing while trying to resolve this issue.

insert your SIM and check service. if it doesn't work then either the network card is not there or the correct driver is missing.

Intel celeron + 4GB RAM, bad combination for video editing.
Your projects would lag and more often than not, keep crashing (meaning hours invested in editing would be lost).
For video editing, best to work from an i5 and 8GB ram minimum (depending on how intense the edits are).

Just like a Dell inspiron that I am trying to fix. I have done all, but it still has moments when the hanging gets so bad.
Told owner new HDD is required........
