Not true, he has played more games as a CB. He only started playing DM when the new coach came.
The data you posted showed he was considered a DM.

From his wiki page, it was stated that he was released by the Greek club Kalloni.

You said he was released by Regina but I no sir, you are wrong. This one you are bringing is another topic.

He was released by Kalloni because his contract expired that season. He signed two years contract with them and he regularly for one and half season before he left.

Nope, he has a long history of playing as a DMF whenever they play a 5-4-1, in fact, in the piece posted here about him, the writer of the article duly mentioned that he has been playing as a DMF before he was moved into a CB position

He started this season as a centre back and was moved back to DM when coaches changed. He has thus far had more games as a CB this season.

Remember, these are averages. High scores show consistency at a high level and it is harder to maintain with more games.

Ekong is regarded as one of the best CB in scandanavia and the stats show why. Omeruo can not be said to be one of the best in Turkey

Liverpool ace Sheyi Ojo announces his comeback close

Sheyi Ojo

Nigeria-born Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo has announced he willsoon be back in action after he was sidelined for several months by back injury.

The 19-year-old Ojo has been sidelined since he was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his back in pre-season. He complained of discomfort following the tour of America and was initially expected to be out for a month.

The young winger has stepped up his rehabilitation by running and engaging himself in light exercises.

Sheyi Ojo took to Instagram to update his followers on his rehabilitation.
He said: "The return is near. I have started running and doing light exercises.

”Last season, he made 11 first-team appearances for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp after coming back on loan from Wolves.

I posted in error about Regina releasing him. It was indeed Kalloni who released him after a season. He signed 2years deal but was released after a season.
It's on his Wikki page.

That Nig vs Alg semi was one of my most memorable games of that AFCON.

U recall the unfortunate incident that was sparked off by Belloumi when Algeria hosted Egypt in the Italia '90 WC qualifiers. An Egyptian player got blinded for life.

Belloumi was banned from stepping his foot on Egyptian soil for life. CAF also banned Belloumi for a couple of years, reason why he didn't feature at Algiers '90 AFCON.

That guy, Belloumi was a huligan.

Na him come dey get mouth against Nigeria now.
.
yeah i remember that incident,an eqyptian doctor was also hurt in that incident

I'm not disputing ur assertion but t is no assurance.

Sometimes in life one has to grab an opportunity life presents as t comes cos t might not cross ones way again.

HIs chances will be getting slimmer wit each day passing by.

With d possibilities of M. Mohammed (getting a better club/regular game time), Ola aina, Moses Odubajo, brain Idowu n a much younger Lazarus pledging dia allegiance to d Green white Green -I don't see him standing a chance.

If he can deny us now, I don't think he'll consider us when he becomes one f d best in his position(which we wish he becomes)

though Alaba's miss is so painful. We must be cautious n stop showing desperation in our quest to cap these diasporans . As regretful it s to us, so t might have been with him for not waiting enough-cos his chances of winning a major international trophy with Austria is unreal.

OFFICIAL: CARL IKEME OUT OF ALGERIA
WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme in training

Injury has ruled out Nigeria goalkeeper Carl Ikeme
from an all-important World Cup qualifier at home
against Algeria later this month, officials said.

Ikeme, 30, was forced out of the English
Championship game at Blackburn Rovers at the
weekend due to a hip injury.

“Yes, he’s out of the Algeria match due to injury,”
said spokesman of the Nigeria Football Federation
(NFF), Ademola Olajire.

The player contacted the NFF to inform them of
the severity of his injury.

The official said they are now waiting on coach
Gernot Rohr to name a replacement for the
Wolverhampton Wanderers shot stopper.

Likely replacement would be Olympic team
goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel or South Africa-
based Daniel Akpeyi, who also deputised for him
when he was unavailable for an AFCON clash in
Egypt in March due to a stomach problem.

This is a major blow for Nigeria as Ikeme has
established himself as the country’s No.1
goalkeeper since his brilliant debut in a 2017
AFCON qualifier in Tanzania in September 2015.

He was the man of the match after he made
several big saves for Nigeria to beat hosts Zambia
2-1 in Ndola last month in an opening World Cup
qualifier.

A very sad one.

Who do we turn to?
Enyeama?-a major doubt.
Akpeyi? Not really trusted for such a game.
E. Daniel?
C. Agbim?-tested but not trusted.

Ezenwa might have stand inbtwn d sticks for NPFLstars against Atletico-but this is no preseason. Though he is in d pole positon to start.
I do think it's time d Presidency n NFF step in n reach out to Vincent to come out f retirement-he is our best shot for now.

there's not enough time to convince Enyeama, he's a stubborn one

Y'all better start praying Ezenwa is awesome cuz as it stands, that's our only choice

The rightback role is no more our biggest concern.

It's now the Goalie role..... Hmmm...

I'm just laughing at this scenario because who would have thought Ikeme will miss the battle of Uyo?

Well, we're left with Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Alampasu and Emmanuel Daniel... Ezenwa looks the most likely candidate.

What a match we are gonna have... Our defence will really need to protect whoever mans goal for us.... But then, could this launch one of those "talented but not trusted" goalies into reckoning? Time will tell

what he did then, he did in a friendly game, this is a world cup qualifier, tension everywhere. We once had a good goalkeeper back then, but when we got to the state finals of the Principals cup, he couldn't catch a simple shot, we had to start throwing our bodies on the line, so what he did against Athletico won't determine what he will do now, not to mention that he has to gain the confidence of the defenders so that he can be able to direct them and control their movement, when will he do that? We are in trouble sha, big trouble
PS: fingers seriously crossed about Victor Moses case. I see Conte withdrawing him in the 89th minute when they might have won already then come declare him injured during the post-match press conference only for him to return immediately after the international break.

He hasn't even played a game for two months so what do u think I was trying to do when talking of heroics against la liga teams?

I'm only pointing to what he's capable of.... Right now he's not even match fit.

So chill... Saying we're in trouble doesn't help anybody or help matters at all.... This is not the time to be negative.

We only got ten days before the battle of Uyo.

We have a game and we must play with a goalie and whether we like it or not, it's likely to be Ezenwa unlessss...... (Enyeama miraculosuly shows up or Akpeyi who I don't trust makes a super quick recovery from injury).

So I ask... Do you have any suggestions for the goalie role?

Ejide or Aiyenugbacheesy, seriously sha Alampasu, or if we could look up other nigerian goalies doing well.

You're such a mind reader right now... smiley

When I typed,

""But then, could this launch one of those "talented but not trusted" goalies into reckoning? Time will tell""

.... I had Alampasu in mind not Ezenwa. smiley

He's been a super regular at Cesarense. And he still holds two clean sheets at Parent club Feirense in cup games against FC Porto and another team while he was with them. He's young, inexperienced at international football level, BUT THEN he's brave, super talented and very confident.

I'm not saying he should start... But I did have him in mind when I made the above comment in quote.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa is our second choice goalie.

Carl is out, so Ezenwa it is.

For those calling for Alampasu, be rest assured that it cannot be him.

Rohr may likely recall Emmanuel Daniel who will now become second choice to Ezenwa.

Ezenwa is a very experienced and brilliant goalie.
I feel sad that Carl would not make it but I believe Ezenwa can manage to deliver.

Azzin...Enyeama is gone, no need to keep bringing him up. We are not that handicapped and Mahrez is not Messi

We will make do with what we have, we played Agbim in extremely important ties and pulled through, if we could pull through with such a disaster, then even Alampasu can face Algeria. Me, I'm tired of all this Enyeama shout, once we face Algeria, we'll probably find another ace goalie as usual and Enyeama will be old news.

All we need is for Ezenwa or Alamps to take their chance.

I whole-heartedly agree Ezenwa should be called upon instead of Enyeama who is not doing too well at Lille.
Ezenwa has been in fine form since his move to FC Ifeanyi Ubah and is currently the highest earner in the nigerian professional football league.
It's no wonder that Atletico Madrid are seeking to sign him.
Besides,he perfomed in npfl selection's tour of spain.
