I don't agree Darmian is good going forward. It was Burnley, yet he could not utilize the enormous space in front of him. Varela was even better going forward and delivery quality balls into the box

"Sometimes you are in a period when one chance is enough to win the match, sometimes people in the stadium are very disappointed and they are not even emotionally in the game but you score a goal and you win.

"Other times people are excited and players are excited and players play incredible football and the emotion is there until the last second and the players don't stop. The number of chances was amazing [against Burnley], the quality of football the same. Stoke was more of the same, not with so many shots on target, but it was also a game where probably the quality of our attacking football was even higher.

"So one day we really have to score a lot of goals but the good thing is we have found a way to play and a way to enjoy things, but obviously total enjoyment is with three points.

"I played many times in Turkey, I think with all my clubs in European competition here. It's hard, it's difficult, they have a completely different spirit and approach to the game, and lots of experienced players.

"Also here they are protected with their fixtures - they play only next Monday in their next league match so they can focus only on this game [against us]. I think they have the same objective as us, to try to get nine points at home. They got three against Feyenoord but we are also coming for a result and the players must enjoy such a difficult atmosphere. I always think the most difficult atmospheres are to enjoy and not to be scared of, so hopefully the players can do that.

"I don't think Fenerbahce had a bad game [at Old Trafford], to be honest, for more than half an hour, Fenerbahce was solid and the game was not easy for us. In the last period of the first half, we played well but we had a little moment where we scored two goals in a few minutes and then the game is different.

"The fact that Fenerbahce has back-to-back victories [in the league] is not a surprise, I think it's the normal situation. The Turkish league is improving all the time. Some teams outside Istanbul are coming to the top and fighting for the top positions. I think the three big Istanbul tradition clubs are very strong, they have very good players, very experienced managers like Dick Advocaat, players with experience of the highest level and international competitions. That's normal that now Fenerbahce is recovering positions in the Turkish league, and are coming close to the top."

PLAYER PREPARATIONS

As per all matchdays, the players have had a leisurely day in preparation for the game. Breakfast was followed by a stretching session in the grounds of the hotel, in windy, but quite mild conditions. Lunch will be followed by a rest in their rooms before heading to the stadium later.

JOYCE LEAVES UNITED TO BECOME WIGAN BOSS

Warren Joyce is leaving his post as Manchester United Reserves coach to become manager of Wigan Athletic.

I wish Ryan Giggs will apply for the vacant Position. He needs to start from somewhere. Pep didn't become Barcelona Manager after hanging his Boots.

He tested (and fine-tuned) his abilities as a Manager with La-Masia before getting the Shot to manage the First Team. I hope Ryan Giggs will show us what he's capable us too; with the Reserve Team before asking for the Managership of the First Team.

MATA WINS CLOSEST PLAYER OF THE MONTH POLL

Juan Mata has been crowned Manchester United’s Player of the Month for October, after the Spaniard narrowly beat his friend and compatriot Ander Herrera in our closest-ever poll.

Over 90,000 votes were cast on ManUtd.com and the club’s official Twitter account @ManUtd, with Mata earning a combined total of 44 per cent compared to Herrera’s marginally lower 43 per cent.

Remarkably, after analysing the figures, we can confirm that Mata finished with just 198 more votes.

Fellow nominee Antonio Valencia, the Ecuadorian who is now facing a lengthy spell out with a fractured arm, finished third in the monthly poll with 13 per cent of votes cast by supporters.

After scoring United’s winning goal against rivals Manchester City in the EFL Cup fourth round, Mata has become the third different Player of the Month award-winner this season following Eric Bailly’s triumph in August and Marcus Rashford’s success in September.

It is the fifth time the 28-year-old forward has won the trophy since moving to the club from Chelsea, with his last triumph coming in September 2015. Thanks to everyone who voted in our poll.

Without a doubt, the most intelligent player in our squad is Juan Mata...He has a blog although I don't follow it, the brief articles there are impressive, is an excellent play maker and very articulate.

SCHWEINSTEIGER UPDATE

The decision to include Bastian Schweinsteiger in first-team training was taken last Thursday. The German was informed a day later and joined the team on Monday. The boss says it was a "human decision" and the World Cup winner will benefit personally and could also be an option if there are injuries in midfield like we are currently experiencing in defence.

Which one be human decision? Abeg abeg abeg! Make Mourinho no allow God punish am oh. Leave our Schweinsteiger out of this trainwreck of a season

"Looking at Bastian and the way he was working professionally with the fitness coach, we think that it's a human decision, a professional decision, to bring him back to the team. He'll be much better prepared and in much better condition in case his future decision is to leave the club; he'll be much better prepared for competition if he stays with us.
