Don't be ashamed bro, I'm reeling my experience and I don't consider it BARBARIC.

There is nothing special about the 21st century, kneeling down is normal and has been working since 1900.

No wonder kids of 19th and 20th century are more disciplined than some of our 21st century kids.

Punctuality is the soul of business/professionalism.
My guy , I really get your point.
Even if the children of the 21st century doesn't kneel, they are still not better than the previous centuries before them.
While growing up, most of the things I considered as wicked acts are helping me today.

I can just imagine the bacteria that will be swimming in circle around those kids...judging by the kind of environment they were,I think not all their parent can hand them medicated soap to bath after school.... And the teachers that should know better were not helping matters...... when they fall sick due to all these accumulated stuffs from the environment the teacher will deny any wrong doing....and people were even supporting this ....Some people got no heart at all undecided

We all went through some sort of harsh Discipline way back either in school or at home, even in our places of worship. But none of those hard drill stopped us from becoming what we are today. if it's not meant to kill or inflict injuries, it will make them better.

when you have disciplined parents or teachers you will know that this is not barbaric.

when I was growing up I would pray anytime my mother went out that she should just die and my teachers also. But I realised that Na me e go useful for. so any child wey wan learn make e learn. just because they can post the pictures online does not make it barbaric. if there where Internet back then same thing would have happened.

that's why this generation no get discipline. if anything happens now some of you will be shouting end time.

God bless my mother

The problem isn't the fact they are kneeling down, but the fact that it's being done on mud!

Who asks a child to kneel/crawl on mud?

You need to upgrade your thought process. Yes, this was normal when we were kids, but times have changed. Societies now place a lot of importance on the dignity of the human person and the humane treatment of kids. To address your "discipline" mantra, there is no proof that children who are made to pass through corporal and inhuman punishment turn out better. Compare Nigerians of my generation with people who grew up in societies where there was no corporal punishment and tell me we are better people. Nobody does this to my child.

This is barbaric!

These children's lateness should be better blamed on their parents, school topography and government.

Seeing the topography of the school, the area seems to be primitive and will likely take these children long distance to trek to school.
Moreover, the soil is wet and muddy. Can't this make the children to be late also?

We talk about being disciplinarian in Africa, yet it is not reflecting in our behavior when we become adult.

Moreover, forcing these children to kneel/crawl through mud will get their clothing dirty for the rest of the day!

I wonder what is barbaric here..most times teachers discipline students not out of hate but to bring to their consciousness the need to adopt a better lifestyle. .after this punishment half of those pupils will not want to come late to school. .you will see them rushing to school on time. .however moderation should be maintained. .

These photos which have been trending online show how little children in a primary school in Cameroon are being punished.

According to reports, the director of the school located in Ebang neighborhood, Yaounde, punishes the pupils by forcing them to kneel/crawl in the mud irrespective of how little they are.

This is awful.

See more photos after the cut...

Some of the folks screaming BARBARIC had it worse growing up. What do people think go on in the Unity Schs? NMS and command sch?

Lack of discipline just birthed cucumber online, after sex pics online and other nonsense boys and girls wouldn't try.

God help us with our definition of barbaric.

There should be other measures of punishing students, not this.
Now I see why ppl send there wards out in a civilized country to study.
In as much as I wouldnt like my children to go through this punishment, I don't see why I should treat other ppls children like this.

And you seriously think this is one sure way of installing discipline in a kid? Will you embrace the teacher if your kid was among? probably you have not started having babies, trust me,the moment you do,you will know the feeling that comes with loving one's child. or trust me, poverty and illiteracy can make some parents think this is one of the best ways of correcting a kid. Even as adults, we make the same mistakes these kids make, maybe such punishment should still be passed on to people like you who supports this, u may have forgotten the feelings of such while in public school. Cause this happens only in public schools where the poor can't speak as they have no hope. My dear, if u have children or planing on having, let them have a taste of this everyday, it will help them grow to be successful as u think.

Discipline does not mean anti-dignity. No wonder kids of these days misbehaves.

In those days, kids won't be sitting while elder is standing. Mbanu! The kid will stand up for the elder, while the elder will lap him/her.

If you don't want your child to kneel down, then make sure s/he is always punctual. No two ways about it!

Otherwise, Na yourself you de do
