Mamas, weldone on this cuties. You will surely reap the fruit of your labour over them all. My baby has been battling with fever and running stool for the past 3 days, but to the Glory of God, he is perfectly fine now. I noticed he is bringing out teeth and suddenly he developed hot temperature, gave him babyrex syrup to subside it. The temperature will be reduced and rise again. I later noticed that his forehead was hot and eyes bringing tears, I ruled out teething and consult a Dr friend who prescribed antimalarial drug. That was how fever disappeared at first dose o. He will complete his dosage tomorrow morning. As per the running stool, I blended scent leaf and crayfish, prepared it as soup and he licked it. Mamas, you won't believe that he just pooed his normal poo this morning since that preparation day before yesterday. The boy just dey fire me with heavy fart since. Help me shout 7 thunderous Halleluyah. It is the Lord's doing o. May God give us the wisdom in taking care of them all. Sorry for my long post. 19 Likes 5 Shares |

Jennykoko3009:Yes o, this is my second time am using that method. When he was 7 months and now he is 13 months. As long as your baby takes what you eat, he/she can take it. Scent leaf has so many benefits to our health. If your baby is under 6 months, you can take it by yourself to neutralize your breastmilk. 2 Likes |

Good evening mamas. Please I need input from mamas who have hired/paid help...or who knows people that do. I have the following questions to help me make a decision on what to do. 1...What's the age range of the nanny 2..what is the pay range 3..Are they live in or non live in. 3a. If none live in, what is their work time? 3b. If live in, how many days off do they get in a Month? 4. Is their duty strictly taking care of your LO or do they do housechores too. |

sugah:1.. I always like to choose women/mothers who have or have had children cos of experience since you have a baby. IMO, I think they are better off cos all these teenegers, it's either they are waiting for admission or looking for money to start a training or trade and they come with so many attitude problem you may not want to start dealing with as a new mum, but a grown woman have to take care of her family with her salary and will take it quite serious and also take care of your baby better. You may be lucky to get a lady that is dedicated, of course. In all, this depends on the said individual. 2. From 20k for a start depending on your location. But I can't imagine paying someone anything less than that especially if the person comes and goes and is a family person. 3a... I believe for live in , she's more like family and should do much from taking care of baby to cleaning the house daily, cooking her food or some foods you want her to cook, washing clothes(if you have a washing machine, then lucky her) 3.. For non live in, taking care of baby, cleaning the house. You may want to cook food and dish hers before leaving so she doesn't spend time in the kitchen and have more time for your baby. I don't just like assigning so much work to a nanny especially when baby is small and needs so much attention, cos the more work she does, maybe the less attention the baby gets. Some nannys sabi to back baby on their back and do all the work jeje. So depending on how hard working the person is or maybe if baby as baby grows or starts school, you can assign more work. She should also wash baby's cloth if you don't have a washing machine. Of course any day you wash clothes and spread, she will pack and fold the clothes. I really can't tell for days off for live in , you have to discuss with the person and agree before hiring. Say one weekend a month should do it's even too much lol, maybe once in 2 months dats actually if the Person have close relatives around, if she have to travel long distance for the break, maybe once or twice a year(no idea infact) Na who type all this things. ?? ?? 8 Likes |

sugah:1- Not less than 20 years for me( current one is 25) 2- my current help started with 25k after 6 months I made it 30k! plus I buy soap, body cream(don't want her using any harsh or bleaching product) and sometimes ask her to make her hair along with my daughter and I pay for it, plus she eats whatever we eat. 3-Live in and she goes off duty once a month for two days! Christmas break starts 19th and she MUST resume duties on the 1st of January( exceptions do occur) 4- She looks after the kids, cleaning of the house and helping me cook. Her duties starts by 5am she is free to retire to her room when her work is done before the kids return form school. She goes to church with us! We agreed on this from the onset. 3 Likes |

sugah: 1) I personally prefer 27-34. My reasons: when they are younger, most have their heads in the air. Too old, and they will be diffy to control...they will tell u this is how they treated mrs D's babies and stuff. Saying this it depends on individuals. My present nanny was 28 when she started. 2) Pay range depends on location and your situ. I pay my present nanny 35k. If she wasn't leaving, I woulda increased it cos she is mega worth it. I advise, never under pay if you want them to be loyal, take good care of your kids n not steal; this also depends on the individual, there are some if u pay them 100k sef, they will still mess up. Had one like that, always talking about being paid in high amounts with governors she worked for...anyways, now she's begging for her job back... Sorry about my rants...25k above... 3) mine are live-in... Too much risks involved with non live-in 3a) I don't know 3b) first 3 months no off...a weekend monthly after that...this is subject to agreement. My present nanny didn't want off but to be allowed to go 2hrs every Wednesday and Saturday for her marriage counselling...the other one wanted monthly but to go Friday and return Saturday or any other day convy 4) I have a house help but everyone that works in my house, must clean. If it is their house won't they clean?? Just lay down what you want from the beginning...I advise drawing up a contract on things agreed and duly signed n notarised...don't laff me ooo It is all about agreement my dear...don't be desperate and look for someone that suits your needs...it is give n take...u should be able to get what you want from them and they should get what they want from you... Pls do tests ooo. Retro viral, hep b n c, tb (mantoux) or quantiferon, not tb serology ooo. Above all, PRAY 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Salary depends largely on the number of children involved and how large your house is... Mamas here mentioning 35k et al must have more than two kids i guess.. 1 Like |

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by AlphaHandMaiden(f): 4:08pm On Nov 06, 2016 |
sayoddy: Just keep the eye (s) clean. Wipe with moistened cotton wool/ pads. Dip cotton wool in some warm water and wipe one eye per cotton wool. Wipe from inner to outer, once and discard the cotton wool after each wipe. If it is a big piece of cotton wool you can fold once and wipe the same eye from inner to outer then discard. Wash your hands before and after wiping the eyes and regularlly Also try to stop him scratching or rubbing his eyes..... now that is the hard part. Also try to wipe his hands as often as you can to keep it clean. If he has recently had a cold, it could also be a factor as the cold virus can actually cause conjuctivitis if it gets into the eyes. He may also have a temperature so have some infant paracetamol on hand and use only if required. It should clear after a few days. If you dont see any improvement after about 3 or so says please go See your doctor. |
