As of today, your birds should be within the 21st week radius... if they are laying now, great.

But, if they are not... it could be caused by administration of (too much) medications or feed formulation.

Best advice is: don't go to feed meal houses to formulate feed for your birds.
Secondly, stick with finished feeds.
If you are in Ogun/Oyo state.. always use NUTRI FEED or TOP FEED.

If you are in lagos: stick with ANIMAL CARE FEED.

Sorry I replied late... been offline while brooding.

Cheers!

Good day, Please I want to ask you a question as regards my poultry farm and I will be happy if you reply as soon as possible.

My poultry farm comprises layers though on a small scale will clock the 16th week in few days time which is the point of lay. What I have discovered is that the birds are not showing signs of readiness to start laying eggs, what I mean is that their vulva is not yet red which is one signs of laying eggs.
Can it be the formula of the feed?
Can I get a formula from you? Thanks in anticipation!

Zartech feed... I bet your birds are from them too.
If by now, you haven't seen your eggs...lodge your complaints with them at Oluyole.

They are always willing to help... diagnosis is the last result.

@pheema check if your birds have mites and Google about mites, dey can be the reason why your medications are not working. A bird died today as a result of the closed eyes it started with CRD which I treated but obviously didn't work probably because of mites on my birds, now my vet has recommended Cooper Sulphate. Ask your vet for professional help

In my area (Ogijo/Ikorodu axis) it's 800-900/crate depending on size. But I guess with the recent surge in feed prices there is need to adjust our prices.

Farmers, what do you think?

only small size egg is 800, my eggs are still small that's why I'm selling at that price, even big farms here in ado, like Afe Babalola, Metrovet are selling at the rate of 850 per crate. have you tried pricing how much bulk buyers are selling a crate of egg? it range between 900-1000 depending on the size and the retailer are selling small size egg @35 per 1 big size @ 40 per 1.

Quite late input. That should be infectious coryza. Get coryl sp and administer for 3-5 days. It helped me.
