The Presidential candidate was seen being hurried away at the talk in Reno, Nevada.

A group of SWAT officers rushed in and took down a man who sparked the incident.

He was arrested by Reno cops and it was initally thought he was carrying a gun.


The man was carried out, reportedly hancuffed, and held by cops.

But later investigation found the man was not armed.

He was later released by cops.


A spokesman for Reno police said: "This evening at approximately 9:05pm (01:05 GMT), at a Presidential Nominee Trump rally in Reno, Nevada, Mr. Trump was removed from the stage by his Secret Service protective detail after a commotion occurred in the crowd.

"Immediately in front of the stage, an unidentified individual shouted “gun”. Secret Service agents and Reno Police Officers immediately apprehended the subject.

"Upon a thorough search of the subject and the surrounding area, no weapon was found.

"A thorough investigation is ongoing at this time by the U.S. Secret Service and the Reno Police Department."

A first snap of the alleged would-be attacker being removed from the rally by cops was shared on social media.

An official Trump statement said: "We would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response.


"I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support.

"Nothing will stop us – we will make America great again!

The 70-year-old billionaire was in the middle of the rally when the incident took place.


He spotted something in the crowd, covering his eyes to get a good look at the man stood in front of him.

All of a sudden his security squad yanked the White House hopeful down from his podium.

Remaining security agents waded into the crowd to apprehend the source of the threat.

Minutes later Trump returned to the stage to waves of applause.

He walked back to the podium, staring across the crowd as people cheered his return.

As he stepped back to the microphone he said: “No one was saying it would be easy for us.

"But no-one will stop us.

"Never, ever."

He went on to give his thanks to the security services, saying that they “don’t get enough credit”.
