Did you realise that Neymar stopped playing after the group stages? As a matter of fact, Luiz was the player who got them through in both games en route to semi final and Sanchez was the best player in the Chile game. He outclassed Neymar if not for the Brazilian keeper who was just too stubborn. Also note that the same poor Oscar scored half of Neymar's goals at the worldcup, that's to tell you how good he's always been for his national team.

As for Pualinho, he probably preferred the money offered by the Chinese team than what those small teams would, you would do same in his place . And no one is saying he's a worldclass player but he's quite decent.
