i am conducting a research on independent authors and self publishing please help me by answering this questions. You dont have to answer all just indicate which one you are answering with the number.Thanks.

1.which phase do you consider must important from writing to publishing and promotion.?

2.Which area is the hardest? why?

3.what are the most stressful and frustrating tasks related to writing, publishing and book promotion that you have to do daily? why are they frustrating?

4.For self publishers how do you promote your books?

5.what does a typical day looks like for you as a writer?

6.As an independent author what are some tasks you essential to your business that you dont enjoy doing?

7.As a writer and self publisher what tasks would you like to be automated?

8.as a writer what would you like to do with your mobile phone but cant?

As for me, in regards to your second question. I think the hardest is finding the courage to write on even when you've put something out there and you are not getting positive headlight. For example, you written this and put it here in good hope that people are going to read and respond to you, but funny enough you might not get any even return. And happenings as this, don't add up to one's encouragement. However, this could be converted as strength, because knowing the society your work is going to, its 'mean' disposition to literary work, especially from a not so popular individual, helps you challenge yourself and be your own first critic before bringing anything out to them.

1. Everything is important buh writing is still the most important phase
2. Writing is still the hardest to me oo because sometimes the story would just be flowing but then a writer's block comes in and u're in it for days then miraculously the story just pop in to your head and you just know you have to put it down before it goes. And you don't know what pple would think of ur story so you lay all your cards on the table and wait for the reaction of the readers.
3.I avnt published a book b4 so I wouldn't know how it is buh writing can be frustrating especially when you want the story to go this way, buh the story won't have it and go the other way and surprisingly that other way comes out good nd better.
4.If posting my stories on NL is self publishing then self publishing it is.
5. I write anytime I feel lyk even when I'm working...a typical day for me is wake up, go to work, come back, eat, write, watch movies/ read then sleep.

7.Well, writing...I would love it if I av a machine that could bring out the story outta ma head as it is nd download it on paper lyk dat...cos dere are some stories dat is on my head dat I still dnt knw how to put it down.

Well I use nairaland inclusively.

well, dere are many stories going on in my head buh it doesn't hold, it comes nd goes nd dere are some that I don't knw how to start it.

I think it's 'normal' as a writer to have this experience. You cannot possibly write down everything that's in your head.

I think it's 'normal' as a writer to have this experience. You cannot possibly write down everything that's in your head. There are times, it just flow freely and there are other times, even when you force it, you realise you are not even feeling what you are writing yourself!

Well, the obvious advantage there is, is getting your work out to the public. Your work, been uploaded on Nairaland, stand a chance of being viewed/ getting to the knowledge of different range of people, beyond you could possibly get to meet in physical. For example, you have no idea how many people have got to know about whatever you post here. The disadvantages, so far I don't have much to say about that. But I see, at least, a thread everyday in nairaland about plegiarism and I think that's a problem, a kind of disadvantage; don't you think?
