In this post we would be quickly counting down 7 movies you should watch .You can learn a great deal from them if you are married or unmarried.

Lets get counting !!!.

7. The Five Year Engagement

At number seven we have this blend of comedy,romance and loads and loads of lessons to learn.

Quick breakdown : Dude falls in love with a girl ,starts dating , and takes a while to pop the real question haaa !!!. Sounds a lot like some naija guys I know .And they spent 5 years engaged just because they wanted the perfect wedding .(no be expensive bride price cause delay oo )

So this is very perfect for unmarried couples ,but if married couples pay attention they would learn a lot from this movie too.Especially lessons on supporting your spouse .

6. Runaway Bride

I was a tiny little kid when I watched this movie *don't tell my mum* but I remember some parts and learnt some valuable lessons here. This 1999 classic is a story of girl who just keeps running away on her wedding day(maybe they are pursuing her from her village or she is looking for mister right ).I assure you there is a lot to learn from this movie .

5. Jumping The Broom

This movie talks a lot about the divide between class(the rich and the poor).

Rich dude from poor background falls in love with a very rich girl from a richer background.Then trouble starts when they find out what kind of background he is from ,tables turned when secret of the girls real parents leaks out .

Released in 2011 and having T.D. Jakes as one of its producers and a long list of stars including Angela Bassett there is a whole lot you are gonna learn from this one and did i forget to say you would laugh your ass out ?.

4. Temptation : Confessions Of Marriage Counselor

Directed by the genius Tyler Perry .This movie is about two best friends as kids who later got married ,they never dated anyone else ,never fell in love with anyone else wooow !!! .Then trouble came when she started getting lured in ,wanted to taste something new .... I don't want to let the cat out of the bag, so watch it .Its suspense filled ,regret filled and Kim Kardashian filled, wait what !! ,did I just mention almighty Kim K .Dont worry you wont be learning anything from her.But you gonna learn a lot about what the institution of marriage entails and a lot about what I talked about in my article about spicing up your marriage here. .

3. Mr and Mrs

Hurray !!! a Nollywood movie made it on the list and top three .If you haven't watched this movie ,you are missing one of the best of Nollywood.

This 2012 movie is centered around a dude who just complains about everything and a wife who does everything to make her husband happy including dumping her career to be a house wife.While her friends home is the direct opposite of hers(funny irony of life).

This movie is perfectly suited for married couples especially those dealing with nagging and career driven spouses.

2.Fireproof

This awesome movie covers a lot of aspects in marriage .

A fire fighter who once loved and cherished his wife suddenly turned around and opted in to pornography and the likes for gratification.

Wife also feels disconnected and attempts to start up a relationship with her boss at work .

Husbands father comes to the rescue and gives him a 40 day plan on how to save his sinking-or should I say burning marriage .

This is a must watch for married couples.

1. War Room

This is one of the most epic movies on marriage I have ever watched.Created by the same people behind Fireproof.

A young lady who is a real estate agent with a troubled marriage bumps into an old lady who wants to sell her house .And that old lady helps turn her marriage around positively

This 2015(first release) movie has some comedy in it ,drama and of course a lot of marriage lessons .Its also an awesome movie for the whole family to watch.

Beautiful array! I have seen all but 1 & 7. The number one, I haven't seen cos the hype about it has made me rebellious. My sis and friends were just going on and on about it till I felt I have seen it already. I guess I will just go see it.

The number seven on the other hand...chai! Will just download it.

Please include Sleeping with the enemy too. Sometimes, there is the other happy ending too

Have seen all except 6 and 7. They are really good and educating movie to watch. Everyone needs to see those movies you listed. Dstv 139 is showing Temptation, the confession of a marriage counsellor every now and then. Learnt a whole lot. God will help and heal all marriages that are going through one storm or the other.

2 years later, she was promoted, so they put the wedding on hold again while waiting for the perfect opportunity for both of them to return home.
So years piled up and it put a strain on d relationship blah.. blah.. blah..
They focused on their issues, and wanted to resolve them all before they got married.
5 years. Till the lady decided that, the perfect wedding and situation wasn't important.
Just get married and go from there!!!!

Yeah u are very correct ,thanks for bringing that to my notice, I would correct it .Watched it about 2 years back so i got it twisted.Wrote the article from the last mental picture i remember ,he was always setting up dates holding a ring in that resturant where he worked,but got bold enough after so many trials. But you are still right ,na too much garri dey cos brain lag joor.*sips garri water*.

I want to see Temptation first. A woman having the choice between two hotties? So thrilling!

And I need to see Laz Alonso too in Jumping the Broom even though the trailer does not excite me but he does. What a man! What a man!

i can recommend 'not easily broken' as well, very interesting

watched jumping the broom, confessions of a marriage counsellor, Mr and Mrs.

the one that touched me most was confessions of a marriage counsellor. the bigger picture is not what it always looks like.

I have heard so much about war room especially from SDK's blog. it's a movie I really want to see probably to satisfy my curiosity. any woman with marital problems is told to "drink coconut oil and watch war room".

Watched all.

Nice movies to learn from.

Fireproof and warroom are quite nice.- Godly principles.
Temptations is also another good one - The grass is not always greener on that other side. That movie is a powerful one sha. That guy just used sweetmouth charms and attention to capture the girl, One shouldn't listen to advice from people that are like Kim kardashian in that movie.



I also think "why did I get married"," why did I get married too" "The family that preys" all by Tyler perry are good .

Watch 1,2,3 & 4......They are films i keep so much. will try and watch the others.

Its all Fireproof for me, i so much love the film that i can never get tired of watching.........If you said you are having challenges in your marriage, go ask your parent how they manage to live together for so long then you will know its not easy
