Madam Confun.... I greet You Ma'am. Honestly, I am suspecting these Algerians... Dem dey fear abeg. See as many of their players dey withdraw one by one.... -Boudebouz (ruled out): he's a very important player in their midfield. They still have Bentaleb and Feghouli shaa... And Taider. -Ghezzal (ruled out) -Ounas (ruled out) -Faouzi Ghoulam (50-50 fitness... Hope he's not ruled out) -and one more player like that who I currently can't recall... Even Leekens is growing old trying to reason how to stop our attack which according to him is "World Class". Just recently, on sunday, the Algerian FA boss cautioned the Likes of Mahrez and co to plss stop talking too much as they should focus on doing the talking on the pitch (they've been talking tough in their local media). See ehn.... These Algerians should just forget it. They will be tough but I forsee a good win for Nigeria. A very good win. confun: |

they re all scared of defeat in uyo, DAT is why they re feining injuries. Algeria must lose on Saturday, we HV wat it takes to defeat them. I laugh wen pple say we should be afraid of Algeria. To me I think dey re scared of us. imagine an attack boasting d likes of musa, ideye, iwobi, iheanacho, ighalo, moses, success all in one team. even d bench is smiling, we should need to bring our A game dats all and victory is ours. d only person am scared about is mahrez because most of their attack is through him, and if only we have a capable left back I wouldn't HV to be worried. I just pray DAT who ever plays d left side of d attack should try and track bk to double up on him so DAT echiejile won't be in trouble. all in all I see a victory for d super eagles |

Ighalo vs Ideye who should be the point man? |

I will like to see ahmed musa as our CF due to his pace, shooting ability and form. ...................................Musa............................................ / Iwobi......................Nacho...........................Moses / ......................................Mikel.......................................... / ........................................Onazi...................................... |

I think it depends on what d coach wants, BT if. d decision is left for me I think I will pick ideye because right nw he is in form, and he is very mobile, d guy works for d team he drops deep in d midfield and help build up attacks and DAT is why he is very difficult for defenders to contain unlike ighalo DAT is off form and just hangs around d penalty box which mks it easy for defenders to pik him out. if ideye doesn't score he one way or d other contributes to a goal which was evident in d Zambia match where he set up ihenacho. All our focus is on our premiership gang let's not forget we HV a certain etebo I see DAT guy as our joker DAT day, he might not start d match but he will definitely come in in d second half and terrorise d Algerians with his direct style of play. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by phamarsenal: 9:14am On Nov 08, 2016 |
@zuchyblink, don't be surprised if doesn't start in d attack, we HV only four slots there one is iwobi, d other iheanacho, d number 9 slot is definetly between ighal and ideye, d only slot left I think moses would take it due to his form for chelsea , so I see musa on d bench. dats my opinion though |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Kog45(m): 9:20am On Nov 08, 2016 |
zuchyblink:Anyone of them coz no difference, d two are average strikers that u cannot gamble on,so anyone of them can lead d attack coz we have player like iheanacho,Moses and Iwobi who are ready to complement their efforts. This new Eagle can be compared to US 94 squad where anybody can score(yekini,Siasia,Amokachi,Finidi and Amuneke)we are going to that level |

What about his finishing in the green and white?? Oga... Ahmed Musa won't start. Period! He'll be lightweight for the likes of Medjani and his central defence partner. zuchyblink: |

Am particularly interested in who will be our right back on Saturday.. Left to me I would prefer omeruo at right back.. Funny feeling that Moses Simon may even get the nod ahead of Victor Moses |

What about the physical aspect of the game? Musa don't have the technical IQ of Nacho and the strength of Ighalo to play upfront. He only got his pace. zuchyblink: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by phamarsenal: 9:47am On Nov 08, 2016 |
I don't tink moses simon will get d nod ahead of victor moses giving his uninspiring performance in Ndola, and d fact DAT moses is playing regularly and very well for chelsea . remember simon only started DAT match in Ndola because moses was unavailable. I bet u if moses or even success was available dey would HV gotten d nod ahead of him to strt . DAT is to tell u d amount of competition in d attack especially in d wings. and honestly it pleases me. gone are those days wen somebody DAT is off form would be starting matches ahead of more quality players due to biased team selections. that era is gone. And as for d right bk position I wouldn't want to see ndidi there, we can't take DAT risk, we survived it in Ndola due to d bad finishing of d Zambians and d goalkeeping heroics of ikeme, but Algerians won't be so kind. especially nw DAT we don't even knw who is going to be between d stick, I think we should stick to omeruo or if we are looking for a makeshift right bk den onazi is an option. he played it at afcon and performed creditably well. since we HV d option of ogu who can also partner obi Mikel in d midfield. |

tbaba1234:And those are the two that will likely not near the touch line, even less field of play. Maybe club engagements kept them back, this one that they play for the same team...as for Elderson, if he doesn't come on tine, dem fit give Omeruo him position |

hope the rohr led technical crew impresses on the players not to get complacent just because we are hearing that the algerians are getting injuries here and there. don't understand why etebo and alampasu are coming in late. for young players that want to make an impression this is simply not good enough. hope it's not that elderson is carrying a knock. my preliminary line-up all things being equal will be 1. Akpeyi 2. Omeruo 3. Elderson (if fit) 4. Ekong 5. Balogun 6. Ndidi 7. Onazi 8. Mikel 9. victor moses 10. iwobi 11. iheanacho Simon Moses, Musa and Ideye to come in when in need of reinforcements |

ALGERIA’S RAOURAOUA: WE MUST WIN IN NIGERIA Algeria's Sofiane Feghouli by Graeme Jackson Tuesday Nov 08, 2016. 10:56 Mohamed Raouraoua, the president of Algeria’s Football Federation, has urged the national team to claim a win away to Nigeria in their 2018 World Cup qualifier. The Super Eagles will host the Fennec Foxes in Uyo on Saturday evening for their second group stage clash. Following a draw at home to Cameroon in their opener, Algeria need a good result in West Africa to keep in touch with leaders Nigeria. “You have a duty to come back with a positive result from the match against Nigeria. It is mandatory. We must win there,” Raouraoua told the players on Monday, as quoted by Le Buteur. "All the Algerian people are behind you. They support you and hope for a good result in Nigeria. We must not disappoint, it's all I can say,” added the Algerian FF president. “The World Cup is an important event that should not be missed. You should know that everyone is behind you.” |

Rohr still wary of depleted Foxes By: Sammy Wejinya | 08 Nov | 05:45 © supersport.com Gernot Rohr Nigeria’s national team coach, Gernor Rohr has warned that Saturday’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying opponents, Algeria will be ‘very well-prepared’. Algeria was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Cameroon in their opening World Cup qualifying fixture while Nigeria in contrast, won away from home in their first game in Group B against Zambia. Rorh says the failure of Algeria to amass maximum points at home in their first game of qualifying will act as a motivating factor for the Desert Foxes as they shape up for a crunch fixture against the Super Eagles. “I believe all the games in this group will be difficult to win because all the four teams are very strong. “Algeria which is the number one team in Africa must be disappointed for dropping points at home against Cameroon. “They will come to Uyo very well prepared against us. So mathematically, it was a good operation for us that we won in Ndola; and we are the only teams that have three points after the first round of matches,” Rohr told www.cafonline.com. Rohr [below with his assistants] concluded by lifting the lid on his preparations for the game on Saturday which will be played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. The veteran trainer revealed that he has been keeping a close eye on the country’s overseas-based talent with the aim of ascertaining their levels of readiness for the task at hand. He also explained why only one domestically-based player was called up for the fixture against the North Africans. “The preparation has been to look at our players in their clubs because we cannot play any friendly match. “We have to analyse the matches and we also have to keep eyes on our players because we have started building a new team with many young players. “It was good we have two wins after two matches (Tanzania and Zambia) which is good for our confidence but there is still a lot of work to do,” he explained. |

Etebo, Alampasu Finally Land In Abuja, Start Training Tuesday Evening CD Feirense attacking midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo and goalkeeper Dele Alampasu are getting set for their first training session with the Super Eagles, with both players arriving in camp on Tuesday afternoon. A travel hitch meant the Portuguese-based pair could only arrive in Abuja at 1310 hours this afternoon, which effectively ruled them out of the first workout held by the Nigeria squad. Twenty players took part in Tuesday morning’s training session under the guidance of manager Gernot Rohr and his assistants. Standard Liege fullback Elderson Echiejile is the only player still being expected in camp as at the time of filing this report. http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=21009 1 Like |

goldfish80: Better because it comes out somehow when we are talking of how good Khedira is passing and you talk of how many times he passed the ball. Most times, when watching, we do not notice how many times a player touches the ball but what he does with the ball when he gets it. Khedira has beautiful performances where he was brilliant with his choices. That is why I flipped with the stats. Not knocking you at all. Sorry for the late reply. I had to do something early. |

Kog45: I do not disagree with your point. I just wanted you to understand my stance. I agree with you with Iwobi, Mikel and Iheanacho, we have enough fluidity to unlock tight defences. Having Onazi in the side gives Mikel the liberty to help support the build-up plays of the team. However, I see the team moving towards a more possessive style as the players gel with the coach's philosophy. |
