Mr Dipo should stop complaining and find his level. If he cannot get an employed female graduate to marry him, he is free to pick one illiterate girl who cannot construct a simple sentence in English as his wife. This is Nigeria and people marry people who are from their socioeconomic level. Don't you see affluent Nigerians? They make sure their sons and daughters equally marry from affluent families.

If you are a young man and you want to marry all the ashawooo graduates everywhere wey use runs finish school and use runs to pay school fees. Most of them pretend a lot they claim to be innocent but one thing they can't hide is how materilistic they are. So if you are a guy planing to marry a Nigerian graduate even 300k a month will not be able to take care of the marriage other wise she will be cheating on you even after you married her and she will fvking other men to collect money

A woman might insist on marrying a man who earns 1M and yet she still makes a good wife material.

The harsh realities of life and the present state of the economy, is enough for every lady out there to do a rethink before marrying just anybody.

Who would pay the bills? How about food? Rent? School fees? Is it your fellow twitter users, Dr. Dipo or your fellow nairalanders?

I sincerely do not agree that a woman should just marry anybody, simply because he is a man and earns "something".

When according to United Nations, we are living averagely below $1.

Let's look at the salary scale of the Nigeria Civil service, before you would earn 200k, you will definitely be a big man, even in some private firms, 200k is not even easy to come by.

Some Nigerian ladies are very greedy and selfish, instead of them to invest the time they used in chasing and looking for rich boyfriends to better their life.

This from poor homes are even annoying, immediately they meet you, they start talking about house rent, school fees, hehehehehehehehehehehehehe modaran, Na me born you?

I am extremely happy I met my woman even before I was 21 and we have been together from the days I make 20k to 30k to 40k and now hundreds of thousands, and she also been contributing meaningfully and significantly to the growth.

But, had it been I don't have anyone and was able to get to this present stage, I will never ever marry a lady who is not up to par in terms of finances, I will never get hooked to a liability... Lai lai.

You know this naija gals think they are wise, I tell guys that when you have a good car, you don't even need to spend much, maybe 2-3k for the first 2 dates, because they will be running after you and all you need to do is little promise and they will cook with their mine, give you all the styles and you dump them.

They might even have a boyfriend but will treat the poor boy like trash just to make things up to you.

Abeg, make I go hustle...

It all depends on your standard of living, if you have been accustomed to something higher, then N200K will not be sufficient.
You would like your kids to go to a school either equal to or better than you did.
You would like to live in a house at atleast equal to or better than you did when you were a child.
There are so many factors, and so people should not just think N200K is the end of the world.

Its a big amount to some people, its all relative to the lifestyle you were brought up with.
Will you expect DJ Cuppy who is used to living large to settle for that, definitely not.

So please stop all this poverty mentality.
