hello mamas and papas. e ku election o. just want to share my baby passport experience in case it helps someone. i applied for baby's u.s. passport at a post office in irving, texas. paid 165$. also snapped his passport photograph there. passport was mailed to me in exactly 2 weeks. At this time I was in missouri and my host in texas mailed the passport to me only for me too check it and see that a mistake was made with regards to baby's gender. I called the passport office help line and was told to mail it to their New Hampshire office which deals with all things expedited. I filled the form for correction of errors (DS something, can't remember) and sent it along with a cover letter birth certificate, the passport and consent form (the helpline people I spoke with were divided as to whether I should include this or not but I did anyway since hubby sent 2 copies initially). mailed the package on a Monday via overnight delivery and I got it back on friday. All this was at no extra cost (except the postage fee sha). cheers everyone! 12 Likes 1 Share |

I spent three months with a friend who we had gone to school tegether...Pry sec and Uni. Hadnt seen her in years since she left Naija just before our NYSC. I help with dishes - ALL the time, trash, her daughter, cooking etc. she was also pregnant and due in sept while i was due in June. wen i was leaving naija i called her and asked what she wanted me to bring for her. she said nothing. but i took dried fish and garri and plenty weave on and attachment. cos i dint wan to take smthg she wldnt use. those three months were lovely. we had a good time to catch up on gist and all. I tell people the help and assistance she gave me and support while i was with her and her fmly, i cannot ever pay her back. She was TOO GOOD to me. I always pray for her. Now that i am praying and planning for number 2 next yr, she has told her husband in advance and gotten his permission for me to stay with my one year old plus son! You have to be helpful and not be a burden to anyone you stay with, family or not! my two cents! 27 Likes |

Modele35: "Friend" is the operative word here... we choose our friends but our families? What we see is what we get..If we search ourselves, we'd realise we get along way way better with our friends than our relatives... our friends judge us less, they don't count scores, shared goals & aspirations made us come together.. we most often than not (unless the friend is evil) get together with our friends more than our cousins, aunts etc... My friends took joy in cooking for me when I just put to bed but my relative saw it as a great inconvenience... If I'm to choose, anyday anytime... I'd prefer to stay with friends.. *Modified*... Thank you once again(you know yourself).. 11 Likes |
