I was just wondering what inmates really do, especially those that have the life sentence

Will it be inhuman if they were made to farm?

Is there a program like that already?

Because in my opinion, it would do us all good if prisoners are made to farm. A sense of achievement for them and their produce could actually feed a community

The Kaduna Open Prison Has Such, veges, maize and beans were grown, which in turn feeds the inmate. but unfortunate the fields are being sold for real estate development.

The Kenyan Prison system incorporates farming into their system. I visited the Kenyan Prisons Pavilion at the Nairobi International Trade Fair held last month and was wowed by the farm produce on display and produced by the inmates. There is a Kenyan l know who is very good in grafting, he can graft anything graftable! He learnt the skill during his 3 years jail term.

Some prisons have farms. Especially the low security and the medium security prisons. However, the farms are used by warders and not prisoners. I mean the prison farm is divided up among the warders who farm on it. Some even rent it out to others to farm.
