FIRS recruitment is included in their 2016 budget. This explains why the recurrent expenditure rose to 25 billion. I believe this delay in passing the budget is a minor hiccup that will be settled soon.

There are less than 40,000 Chartered Accountants (Dead & Alive) in Nigeria and about 120,000 ANAN members. Which means that the total is not more than 160,000 (and of course all cant apply). The only area this may not be required is SL10- Tax Officer II, that is for trainee. If you apply for SL9 & SL8 without a Professional Accounting Certificate and no Masters, how do you think you will be considered among 700,000?. Kindly note that the basic requirements is first degree or HND with Professional Accounting Certification. It is a position for professional cadre. It would have been different if other departments had been considered but that had been filled through the secret recruitment of May 2016. This info is from an inside source.
