Etebo was tough but he needs to get like Onazi sometimes, on the goal he should not have tried to stay with Mahrez he should have hacked him down. He needs more time with the team especially Iheanacho there were some passes he made to him that he didn't read. |

BascoVanVeli: Yes, he touched the ball and did not link up well. That has a lot to do with the organization of the Algerians than Nacho not suiting the role. We were stronger as a team with Iheanacho up front. This was one of our best performances going forward. With Iheanacho tightly marked, Mikel, Moses, Iwobi and Etebo had room to cause the Algerians problems. In other games, we were not as deadly as this. As I said, it is about the team playing better and us becoming stronger. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoeli: Which organization? The same bunch that passed Victor Moses the ball for the first goal, played Mikel onside for the second and got ripped to shreds by our counter attacks. This scoreline flatters Algeria we were just too good. Nothing is wrong with having a off night, no player can be perfect. Iheanacho should be confident because he has big brothers to carry the load when it gets too heavy. 1 Like |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by forgiveness: 11:10pm On Nov 12, 2016 |
Today na today. Victor Moses still remains our best player and he showed it today. Iheanacho is not a striker though he is a prolific goal scorer. His movement off the ball, his first touch, his poor aerial ability and poor positioning as a point man are minus for him. He is better as a S/S. Omeruo should not be used as a right back again else we go chop goals tire. All the chances the Algerians had came through his wing. Even if na one or two chances, it could have caused us the game. In football, you don't need to create chances but once you have a chance score and the game don finish. We need to bring Moses Odubanjo, Tyronne Ebuechi and Brian Idowu to be tested. Onazi na baller. His job was well done in the midfield wella. We need a CMF incase Mikel get injury. People wey underrated foreign groomed players, una don see say, d best players in the National team. |

mikron: Not bad, they put up a good performance. I was just really concerned about our goalie. Akpeyi is nothing to write home about. Also, Leon Balogun is our best defender presently IMO , the guy really tried. Baba Ibeji (Mikel) was superb too, his passes were accurate and also gave his all. Victor moses was the best man today, he showed the 'blue' power in him . Above all, they all tried. I just pray they keep their top forms. If we can continue this way, we'll surely top the group to the end. |

AIG07: The shivering has gone.. Honestly, this is not the algerians team i used to know. The game was approached based on tactical awareness. The Algerians didn't play their game, thou it's a big test for the SE. Leekens got the job 2 to 3weeks ago and this is his first Intl match. Apparently, we may see another Algerian team play next year. Lol @ my Moniker. Last time i check, Virgos are very creative, intellectual and intelligent, so that's what works for me.. |

mikron: Watching the cam-zam replay nw.. The camerounians are push over, they are organized but they lose the ball very fast and easily. They are very beatable for us. with this camerounian team am watching, they will be flogged by 4 to 3-1 from SE in front of their fans. |

Oghenekaro Etebo my MOTM after Victor Moses ofcourse. He had an insane amount of interceptions and also assisted Mikel's goal. I reckon he 'd outperform Iwobi in that supporting striker role if afforded the chance to do so. 1 Like |

I have really been against Iheanacho playing as a top striker. He is better playing behind a striker with less duress from centre backs, giving him more space to maximise his chances. I hope Rohr will take note. It seemed that the Algerian coach was wrong by focusing on how to stop Iheanacho and Iwobi combination while writing off Mikel and Moses. The ultimate Glory belongs to God. I prayed for victory and he harkened to my orison . |

lakesidepapa:cameroun are very beatable, im not bothered by them, algeria were our problem, thank God the boys came to the party and the rest is history. recalled we beat cameroun by 3 goals to nil last year in one of our friendlies complete with their 2 best players in moukhandjo (the guy that got the goal against algeria away) and vincent aboubakar (the guy that plays for fc porto and the scorer of their penalty against zambia 2day). we will host them here in naija next year august |

Icon4s: Did you not see me say his link up was poor? Was that a praise? I have told you why I feel he was a good option up front. Yes he had some poor touches but that was due to the organisation of the Algerians. In a less organised defence, his impact is more. We played better with him up top. Did you see us create clean chances for Iheanacho? The only good chance was from Shehu. That shows how good the Algerians set up defensively. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 3:35am On Nov 13, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: He was ineffective in that role. He miscontrolled the ball several times in dangerous positions and gave wrong passes. The Algerian defence was far from organised, Nigeria could easily have scored more. All three goal were due to defensive mistakes. Even for city, Kelechi is ineffective in that role but i do not expect you to agree. He is better off when he can play off the top man. 1 Like |

blueto: I will still say you guys want personal accolades than team praises. We Iwobi and Moses flanked Iheanacho well. Iwobi drifted to the midfield and played brilliantly. Mikel had a brilliant game. Etebo was motivating and inspirational. What we need is to focus on creating clean chances for Iheanacho to finish. The Algerians knew he was our danger man and tightly marked him. This created room for our players. He showed his attacking brilliance with his run. The miss was an example of his run. If we can get more chances like that coming, Iheanacho will score loads. His pressing also helped the Algerians uncomfortable with the ball. |
