[quote author=Funnicator post=51016158] You are not being smart here. Sudan fought a civil war for over 3years before they got their independence from North Sudan, Biafra fought a civil war for 3years to gain independence from British-backed Nigeria, did you free them? No! USSR did not grant independence to member states, they disintegrated, it was a case of the centre unable to hold it's component due to economic meltdtown. You're comparing Blue to Red. Stop it.[/quote Please tell me the countries or atleast a country that has secession in its constitition. exactly my point from your second paragraph independence is not given it's taken. Have you ever read the UN chatter for self determination. Now tell me who is playing smart here. |

aresssa: Egbon mi, who is not corrupt or incompetent amongst all Nigeria leaders. The problem with the Yoruba Nation is that we always see things from an Perfectionist ideal world, due to our education and training, but Nigeria is not that ideal world and most people don't care. That was why Afeniferr and other Elders cautioned the Tinubu groups about their fight against GEJ. Look everyone(SS,SW,SE and Northerners) knew GEJ was corrupt, but we Yorubas carried the matters on our head like Nigeria was our single creation. And the North as usual capitalized on this. The Yoruba Nation should stop trying to be more NIGERIA than other groups, it is not worth it. 1 Like |

I dont believe this story though if its true one thing is certain there can never be an accord between the North and South East irrespective of what is involved because a lot has happened and are still happening. As for the comment that " NO REGION CAN STAND WITHOUT THE YORUBAS", that is simply not true, there are three regions in Nigeria and its two to beat one formula the North applies. In my opinion, what we need right now is to unite in south and fight for true federalism. God Bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

It's even more unfortunate that i'm engage with their woman. I'm soo piss off to the extend that I can break all my relationship with all my Igbo friends. , are u this dumb? |

Re: North, South East Politicians Join Forces Against South West by ImperialYoruba: 10:52pm On Nov 13, 2016 |
Yorubas have an adage, "Oja Oyingbo, ko mo p'eni kan owa". "The Oyingbo market is indifferent to the absense of a patron" SW is the seat of political opposition in Nigeria. We are indifferent to the national political victory, whether its in the North or East, or if it both. To those who lack perspective on history, I ask you review the political alliance of North and East in tje first republic. If that's not enough, go and study the same alliance in second republic. In each case, West outpaced the central alliance in terms of development, growth and social upliftment. The two regions, North and East are lagging behind West. We look forward to your re-alliance in third republic and wish luck to you. 1 Like |

Dammyllionaire:South East Political class do not represent the aspiration of South Easterners. This is a mere puppet-ed political alliance, that may not stand, even though I doubt its credibility. We know what we want, and we will get there with time. The politicians are just entertaining themselves...... You have to check your emotion, as politics should not be the yardstick to pick who should be your friend.... friendship should be a matter of choice and interest. 3 Likes |

OBAGADAFFI: Saying GEJ was corrupt and incompetent and also saying all Nigeria politicians are corrupt are 2 different things. I said GEJ was kicked out by Nigerians for corruption and incompetence, I never said all Nigerian politicians are not corrupt. Again, last time I checked, Nigerians from all over the country voted in that election to get rid of Jona so what's Yoruba people got to do with your argument? Were Yoruba people the only electorates in that election? Yes Or No? |

09xtr09r: 1) It was not mandatory dat Azikiwe's NCNC had to form an alliance wit d northern NPC. It was a choice & an alliance of political bed-mates. 2) Why scapegoating Akintola when d two alliances, d NNA & d UPGA were based more on ideology than regionalism as can be seen frm their composition. a) d NNA comprised of d NPC (North), NDP (SW), the Midwest Democratic Front, the Dynamic Party , d Niger Delta Congress , d Lagos State United Front & d Republican Party. b) d UPGA consisted of d NCNC (S/E), AG (S/W), d Northern Progressive Front, d Kano People's Party, d Northern Elements Progressive Union, d United Middle Belt Congress & d Zamfara Commoners Party. 4) Ekwueme & Shagari were both of d NPN. I agree dat dis does not translate to Hausa/Igbo ticket. However, after winning d elections d NPN entered into an alliance wit Azikiwe's NPP in d NPN/NPP alliance which resulted in d NPP's Ume-Ezeoke becoming d speaker of d house of Representatives. 5) In 1999 -2003, the yoruba were in opposition as reflected by their unwavering support for d AD which stood as opposition to Obasanjo & his PDP. d yoruba candidate in dat election was Chief Olu Falae. Obasanjo was d PDP/North/S. East candidate. He did not even win his electoral ward in yoruba land. However, in 2003-2007 using his power of incumbency, he was able to make some incursions into yoruba land. Inspite of his incursions, his greatest opposition was frm yoruba land. |

Ryabcool:Well, if the North that is not trusted either can form alliance with SW or SE at will, why can't SW & SE try to achieve a common cause through a loose alliance? SE & SW mistrust is hurting the whole South & in deed the whole country. If the North can have a full religious law code & way of live with , maybe Boko will have little attraction & chance to thrive. SE, SW & SS can pursue their own destiny with more freedom. But right now, SW/SE are playing into the hands of Ahmadu Bello's openly expressed ideology: never to allow the entire South have control over their destiny and remain Uthman Dan Fodio's conquered territory. 2 Likes 1 Share |

datribune: Nice to know you left out number 3. From Nigeria Independence to 1966 the Yorubas maintained alliance with the Caliphate via the Akintola-Ahmadu Bello collaboration. Thereafter in 1967, Awolowo took the Northern partnership further by yoking with Yakubu Gowon through out the civil war. So from 1967 to 1979, Yorubas were in partnership with the Northern rulers. Remember, it was during this period - the 1967-70 fratricidal war that Awolowo capitalized on his position as the second-in-command to ensure the starvation of millions of Igbos and Easterners. And even after the war, the same Awolowo ensured that Easterners were shortchanged of their hard earned monies in banks and building societies. The amassed funds were made available to the Yorubas and their partners to buy up the numerous companies established by the colonial masters, looting the companies and rendering them bankrupt. Aside being found continually playing the second fiddle to the Northerners, the Yorubas ruled Nigeria for 12 years starting with Obasanjo. Obasanjo ruled as a military soldier from 1976 - 79 and came back as a civilian and ruled 1999 - 2007. Ernest Shonekan ruled in the interim government of 1993 and only survived for 83 days before he was displaced by Gen Sani Abacha. |

aresssa: No, not all Nigerians voted against GEJ, just check the difference between PMB and GEJ numbers. Also check compare the 2011 and 2015 voting patterns, you will notice the SW made the difference. The SE/SS and the North voting patterns didn't change much. But my greatest anger was that the antiGEJ noise from the SW was the loudest, even till date. How many Northerners have you seen getting emotional about GEJ corruption issues, yet they always voted against GEJ. Come 2018 we will start the Anti-Buhari propaganda, the way we trumpeted the GEJ propaganda. That is why I said we Yorubas take Nigeria issues too serious. |
