Vinsturk: Dude i maybe stupid but that is limited to occasionally mistakes, apart from that I'm above average rational human being. I know for a fact that tourist visa is purely for visiting and never a work permit and has not been stated anywhere in Canadian embassy website that one can work with it or change it to work permit while in Canada The problem with you and many others is that this is not what you want to hear, your mind is made-up to take the illegal route because the legal one is lengthy and you not qualify . 1 Like |

If you have US visa, I think is better to apply for Canada visit/tourist visa while in US. I applied for Canada visit visa for my wife on June 6th this year, she did biometric same day. I withdrawal her application after 3 months in late September because the application was not finalized. She currently in US, and I reapplied for her in October. Below is the timeline; - Application submitted online on October 17 - Biometric on October 17 at VAC New York - Passport request on October 22nd - passport delivered by hand on October 24th at VAC NY - Passport picked up on October 28 at VAC New York - Application approved with multiple visa valid till 4th of February 2021. Documents included were; - her passport data page - my bank statement ( 2 months bank statements printed online) - marriage certificate - United Airlines flight itinerary - Details info of where we are going in canada - 4 nights hotel reservation through hotwire - No invitation letter included 6 Likes 2 Shares |

travelpoint: I was of the opinion that a"right of stay" like a work, study permit or other form of residence permit is required before you can apply for a visa from a foreign country. Please correct me if i am wrong 3 Likes |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by travelpoint: 8:16pm On Nov 12, 2016 |
kkokoma:Yes you are right about that but that is not the case if you are applying for Canada visa from US. When you are in US with a valid visit visa, you can apply for Canada visa. Note you can't apply for US visa from Canada if you are in canada with a visit visa. I discovered last month that you can apply from US if you have a valid visa. Some told us about it but I don't believe until I went to VAC New York to confirm if she can apply. VAC told us YES 3 Likes |

Vinsturk: Let me rephrase what Justwise is trying to say in clear terms. Working with a tourist visa in Canada is against the terms of your visa and against the immigration laws of canada and if caught you will be in serious trouble. So no genuine company will even look at you. In fact they may even rat you out to the authorities and trust me the country takes these things very seriously so it's the last thing you need. However there are various legal ways to extend your stay in Canada before your visa validity expires. There are no guarantee with that either as trying to get a job is not valid reason to extend your stay. Pls check the cic site carefully for more insight on how to extend your stay and other information. My personal advice to you is this: Pls remove the thought of working with your tourist visa or extending your stay out of your mind for now. The most important thing at this stage is to secure the visa first. And stay away from that agent. You can do this yourself! Just calm down, be patient, do your research on the documents you need and fire down. Go thru the pages on this forum and the cic site for guidance and you're good to go. Good luck sir. 3 Likes |

"that's why I want to apply as a business woman, again." Please what do you mean by the highlighted statement? Have you applied for canada visa as business woman before? However, @Jayfierce has very much said it all, I think it will be important that your husband be your sponsor. That should reduce the attention on your own statement of account a little bit and should be a strong statement for home tie too. But your husband should be prepared to provide supporting documentations as the sponsor too including bank statements and availability of funds to cover the purpose of the trip. As for the landed document in your maiden name, did you make a newspaper publication when you switched from your maiden to husband's? If so, I think you should include that in your application too. Overall, take your time and prepare well. Very important.

|

DemiDabbs:That doesn't affect your application because you did not overstay. To overstay your US visa means you stay for over 6 months. Note: You can apply for Canada visa while in US for a visit. 1 Like |
