How I Will End Boko Haram If I Were President – Atiku Abubakar by yungstarry: 7:02am On Nov 16, 2016 |
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has said the Boko Haram insurgency would not take place in the country if he were the president of Nigeria. Abubakar noted he would have used all at his disposal to ensure that Boko Haram did not take place in any part of North-Eastern Nigeria and elsewhere in the country, if he was in control of government, Leadership reports. The former vice president disclosed this Yola on Tuesday, November 15, during the distribution of relief materials to over 50,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at American University of Nigeria (AUN) drawn from all over IDPs camps across the state to commemorate his 70th birthday celebrations. He recalled how a similar insurgent uprising was crushed when he served as vice president under the Obasanjo administration in 2002. “If you recalled, while we are in office in 2002, such a small upraising similar to this Boko Haram, reared their head in Yobe State, then, we smashed it immediately. “We never heard anything about it again, until we left government” Abubakar said the Boko Haram insurgency required steadfast and decisive leadership to be stopped. He regretted that Boko Haram took over seven of the 21 local government area of Adamawa during the previous administration. He noted that what he did to prevent Boko Haram from completely over running Adamawa state is between him and Almighty God. The politician said the Adamawa peace Initiative was put together to ensure peaceful coexistence of Adamawa state and its people. The relief materials were distributed at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, the Jamatu Nasrul Islam Headquarters and American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola. Meanwhile, Nigerians have condemned the country’s military over the demise of another top soldier who was killed by Boko Haram terrorists in Bita on their way to Yola in Adamawa state. The soldier, identified as Lieutenant Colonel BU Umar, had about three weeks ago, taken over the 114 battalion which he was leading until he met his end. The Army has already denied knowledge of the occurrence through its spokesperson Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, who said he was unaware of Lt Col Umar’s death. http://www.starsgist.com/i-will-end-boko-haram-if-i-were-president-atiku-abubakar/

Atiku is one of the people that put Nigeria in the bad situation it is today. So he is not a choice for the presidency in my opinion. |

You were alive and healthy when "circle of small boys with small arms" ravaged your town...have you forgotten so soon? Or to be fair, what effort have you made in safeguarding or rebuilding the town? Watch out for his posters... |

Atiku is a bloody liar! All he wants is to attain that presidential seat. God will never allow neither him nor his generation to rule this country. |

feldido: I agree with you. Any one can say anything to get into power. What they do in government is usually the opposite. Can you imagine Trump raking up & down before election? Now he has won & he is saying gay is OK. Would keep part of Obamacare etc. Talk is cheap really. |

When Atiku started lending his voice to the debate about true federalism, i just knew instantly he's eyeing 2019. It has become all too obvious He's indeed interested. Perhaps PDP will hand him their ticket when the time comes. Lastly, i dont think Baba will run. I see him throwing his weight behind someone else. Perhaps Ribadu. |

This man is nothing but an old fool, if truly you love this country and you ain't after personal interest, you would have bring out this idea to the past and present administration... Mad man trying to campaign for 2019 election. If you are not careful man your family will be a victim of this political terrorist called Boko Haram. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. I was discussing with my office security 2 days ago and he said Yunus this beards is getting too much do you wanna join Al Qaeda? I said No, the next thing he will say is if he is offered big money he will join Boko Haram that he will only die once. |

Progressive01: Bro, I don't think Atiku will be a flag bearer of pdp. He knows that party is dead already. Watch out for new party....saraki, tinubu and some top igbo elites will be a member |
