TheSuperNerd: We need this kind of match. I would prefare the 1st of the two games in March to be against a relatively weaker opposition so we use it to try new players. Then against Senegal we play to our full potential. |

His time will come...... I think Ejaria also has eyes on featuring at the 2017 Fifa U-20 WC with England (something that would have happened with Nigeria had we qualified). Anyhow, Ejaria was with us in 2013 at U-17 level but schooling and Arsenal stopped him from UAE 2013. Similar thing stopped him from New Zealand 2015. He's called the Nigerian Pogba and will get his time. Truth is KELECHI NWAKALI IS THE "REALEST" DEAL IN OUR CENTRAL MIDFIELD. jotey: |

Senegal Test Lined Up For Eagles In London For Rohr To Try Out Isacc Success, Aluko & Others Another friendly game has been lined up for the Super Eagles of Nigeria by the Nigeria Football Federation according to reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com. Already arrangements have been concluded to play Egypt in Dubai on the 9th of January 2017 in a friendly game, which will be prosecuted by largely home based players. However the NFF are also taking advantage of the FIFA free window in March to arrange another friendly, this time around in London and it will be prosecuted mostly by foreign based players. The game will be against Senegal with the venue most likely to be Craven Cottage, home ground of Championship side Fulham FC, where Omatsone Aluko who recently issued a come and get me plea to the Super Eagles coach plays. It is expected that Coach Gernot Rohr will call up the 27 year old, who last played for Nigeria in 2014 and Watford FC forward Isacc Success could be handed a call up as well. Players who distinguished themselves in the penultimate friendly against Egypt in January are also expected to make the cut for the friendly against Senegal in March. Rohr Alerts Top Teams In Europe -Hardworking Etebo Is Good Enough For Top European Club Top European teams have been urged to sign Super Eagles rave of the moment Oghenekaro Etebo by coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr. Etebo moved to newly promoted Portuguese side CD Feirense in January, and helped them gain promotion to the top flight where injuries have restricted him to just four appearances this season. Rohr believes the 21 year old who can operate in the midfield or attack has done enough with Nigeria, starting from the Rio 2016 Olympics where he scored four goals in Nigeria’s 5-4 win over Japan to earn a move to a top club in Europe. ”I understand he recently moved to Portugal, not too bad a place for footballers to start their careers but his recent performances showed how much quality he has which should earn him a move to a top club” He told owngoalnigeria.com. ”He has the quality to play in a top league for a top team in Europe, it’s all so obvious and with all due respect to his present team, he won’t be around for long if he maintains his current form”. Interest in Nigerian, but no talks yet Reports suggesting Tottenham Hotspur, Hamburg, Chelsea, West Ham United, Middlesbrough, WBA, Watford and Newcastle United are interested in 19-year-old (20 in December) Genk defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who can also play centre-back, may not be totally accurate. Standing 1.87 m (6 ft 2 in) the Nigerian certainly has the stature to be a centre-back and would help provide versatility within the squad. Eric Dier has been performing there in the absence of Toby Alderweireld through injury, leaving Victor Wanyama to soldier on on his own with Mousa Dembele injured, Harry Winks learning his trade and Tom Carroll simply not up to the task. Agent William Bogaerts told All Nigeria Soccer that he knew nothing of interest from Rafa Benitez managed Championship side, Newcastle United and confirmed no talks have taken place, although he didn't deny there was interest from us. "I do not know about interest from Source: http://tottenhamhotspur..co.ke/2016/11/interest-in-nigerian-but-no-talks-yet.html?m=1 |

Yep... We gotta admit it. Siasia started it with Etebo in that 1-1 AFCON qualifier against Egypt. But Rohr seems to have perfected it.... ....................................................................... REVEALED: Playing Etebo & Mikel In The Midfield, Siasia’s Idea Perfected By Rohr The idea of playing Oghenekaro Etebo and Mikel Obi in the midfield, which was was effective for Nigeria in their recent World Cup 2018 qualifiers win over Algeria was actually a brain work of former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia. Before Siasia took handles Etebo as his coach at U-23 level for Nigeria, the 20 year old CD Feirense ace has largely been played in the attack, on either flanks or as top striker but Siasia saw more in him and converted him to a midfielder with the license to bomb forward. It was Siasia who first paired Etebo and Mikel in a midfield three with Eddy Onazi in the Super Eagles, in the games against Egypt during the ill fated attempt to qualify for next year Africa Cup of Nations. However while Siasia played Etebo ahead of Mikel, new coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr played him just behind Mikel, a trick which worked like magic in the game against Algeria which Nigeria won 3-1. The idea of playing Etebo behind Mikel was so done by Rohr due to Mikel’s lack of pace and playing Etebo behind means the Chelsea ace would be free to go forward with sufficient cover behind him, thanks to Etebo’s abilities to make up grounds with his pace. That idea worked out well for the manager as Mikel was among the goalscorers, ironically he was set up by Etebo and the game was one of his best in Nigerian colours in a long time, particularly in the first half. Uhmmm.... Can Ebuehi still be referred to as a benchwarmer? He's started Den Haag's games in recent times... Oh well, whatever... **smiles** We still need am... I love the fact that he knows his personal SWOT analysis or is it just plain modesty? ....................................................................... Nigeria Target Ebuehi : Ask Rohr Why He Is Interested In A Benchwarmer ADO Den Haag right wing-back Tyronne Ebuehi has revealed that he was shocked to learn of his invitation to the Nigerian national team ahead of their World Cup qualifier versus Algeria, admitting that he’s still learning his craft. The Dutch-born Ebuehi received a surprising phone call from Super Eagles manager Rohr few weeks before the game against the North Africans and told him point blank he wasn’t interested for now because he is eyeing a regular spot in the ADO Den Haag’s first team. The 20-year-old had made only 19 starts for the first team of ADO Den Haag when he was summoned to Nigeria’s senior squad. Asked why a benchwarmer at ADO Den Haag was called up, Ebuehi told his club’s official webpage : “A good question. You would actually have to ask them (laughing). But I’m someone who never gives up, will always give everything.” Allnigeriasoccer.com has contacted Ebuehi, who is eligible to represent Netherlands and Nigeria, regarding his international future but he declined to comment.
