Our youth are incinerated for being “suspected cultists”, A child is getting burnt in the street for stealing Garri and yet those who have looted our country, pillaged our pockets and mismanaged our lives are living just opposite us in their mansions where they throw us the crumbs off their tables and all we do is hail them “baba oo!”, shower them with prayers and vote them in the next elections to enable them continue from where their fathers stopped before they went 6 feet deep with their thick fat bellies in their gold-plated coffins.
We need to realize that our problem is not that child that stole…it’s not those young men. We have all in one way fallen victim to these demons in high places, they are the problem!
They are the reason that child was not in school, they are the reason he was hungry, they are the reason WE could have placed so much value on garri or whatever he supposedly stole as much as to take his LIFE (in such animalistic manner). They are the problem! And we are the cause of the problem because we keep putting them in the position to hurt us over and over again.
We need a revolution (mostly mental though) to enable us recognize the enemies and not see a fellow victim as one. We are all one in this struggle…When will we unite? (remember if “one will chase a thousand, two will chase ten thousand”…what can over 175 million do?)
Our enemies are getting fat and we are here killing ourselves for wanting to survive. Nigerians, Think and Unite!

Enough of this.
Why don't they go rob the enemies that are getting fat?
Why rob and kill the hustling common man at the lowest echelon like them?

The story is contradicting.. First, you said you watched many of his pictures and videos and later concluded he's not 7years old..

In your narration, you narrated the story, making it seems you were their...

The thing is, your words against the Dead Kid... (hard choice right?) He's dead.. He can't say shit, and we didn't hear shit from horse mouth...

We're all barbarians in Nigeria.

There is a deep psychological problem within the society in Nigeria. Any and everything is justifiable. "Dem never pay salary since. I beg make i put on my police uniform go collect bribe for road" or "Which kain tin be dis na? See as hostel toilet doti. Since dem no wan clean am, make i do my business for ground here" or "I beg make i pour the refuse for gutter joo since dem no wan provide garbage disposal" or "Where is the tyre and petrol? Let's set him on fire because if we leave him with the police, the will let him go" Etc. Are you seeing a pattern? As long as Nigerians can get away with depravity, they will justify it. I wonder why you guys don't understand that you are only harming yourselves with this behavior. You are gradually turning the country into a jungle fit for animals. There is no reason or excuse for murder but i guess that does not apply to Nigerians. I will keeping saying this; Every Nigerian living in Nigeria is a potential murderer.

The memory of how his ilk tortured my darling husband remains fresh in my head. Chai! I cried that night...
I thought it was kidnap, I waited for ransom call_ I tire!
Even after collecting the money, they still held him hostage and tortured him till he bled from every point, even broke his skull.

I saw my husband in the state they left him, with all the agu nwanyi I am known for, I started crying. I was just wondering where I would start from as a widow and single mum <25.

They can take all the money, we would make double. Why kill? Why put an end to a life you can't create?

Is jungle justice good? No.
'but you just need to have an encounter with these guys.

If I get the modafuckers that tortured my husband that day, I will roast their body and soul!!!

But for someone to kill and even justify it.
I mean, pick up a tire, pour petrol and then set someone ablaze alive amidst his/ her screams is sickening. And there in the crowd would be somebody's mother or father, somebody's boo claiming he/she. has nothing but love to give. Whatever the true story, there is no justification for killing. Sadly, these touts that set the ball rolling to kill a thief (they are no different, they are murderers too) will not give the victim a chance to speak, whether guilty or innocent. Hand the thief to the police who made you ruler and judge over any one's life? If you think Nigeria police isn't to be trusted and you think you can maintain law and order, go and join the police force and be the change they need. Our people are slowly turning to animals

I thought what's makes people condemns the killing of that boy is because of the blood they sees gushing out of his body, dont be surprise when they hear abt crimes nd how they ve killed people the same people re the ones wo would tell u to kill him, I don't think anyone here watch the video, u can hear people who gathered to watch all supports,u can hear them say kill him, they almost killed me in this spot, do u know how many people they have killed? dont pity him kill him nd the people saying he stole garri, let me tell you we yorubas re not that wicked he cant steal garri nd get killed, worst thing is someone else would even pay for him knowing he is only hungry so u people saying jungle justice is bad I pray one day u will become a victim nd though I can't participate in jungle justice but I love to watch it if its melted upon the real culprit

You get sense pass most people here!
They cant think deeper than their anger.

The question is: Is it only in Nigeria that we have thieves? Why dont they burn their thieves in UK or US or anywhere in Europe?

Robbery and other crimes are the "symptoms" of the problem.
The PROBLEM itself (our looting leaders, Criminal Judges, "Padding thieves" in the Nationals and State Assemblies, Corrupt Police) is what we need to deal a decisive blow like this on.

The guy na akpunku but even at that, they mobs have absolutely no justification killing and burning a fellow human. It's not just right.

Yes he stole and may have maimed but let's allow the law to take its course like we've allowed it to take its course on several politicians who have e milked dry the people.

If the politicians have not decended low and caused the people to become morally depressed, this wouldn't have happened. angry

Agreed he was a notorious robber, but that does not mean they should take the law into their hands.I have seen a similar case of this whereby a supposed beggar using cripple wheel to work happens to be an informant to robbers and also keep their ammunitions for them after operation. He was brutally killed and murdered by the angry youths of that area which i need not to disclose.I would urge the people to please let the government decide on that.I agreed with the comment of one of the Nairalanders that they should just beat beyond recognition and handed over to the police for further investigation which i believe it can help them to apprehend others.

while I don't know your whole story, all I know is that your husband came back to you alive. That my dear, is called grace and I don't think that same grace will advocate for jungle justice. And yes, once upon a time I have come face to face with them with a gun pointed to my face and that of my family, they left us more than dry but I still look back and thank God for His abiding grace. Jungle justice is wrong. May we never experience such again IJN.amen

So true that once you've been a victim of these cruelers, you'll never feel any pity for them whenever they are being treated this way. I have been a victim several times, in fact in my community they will come at night with rage break in torture maim and cart away people's properties, however two wrongs can never be right. After beating the notorious imp, I still think he should have been handed over to the police. I am having that feeling that some members of his gang are part of those that made sure he was killed just to silence him from mentioning them. I don't know if people are getting this same feeling

Hmmm. I know it's not that possible for a 7 year old to be alive after that kind of pummeling.

Quite unfortunate though. People losing faith in the police is only an epitome of a failed state.
U nailed it finally people have lost confidence in Nigeria police, so jungle justice is their way of protecting themselves, I lost my lovely mother to this kind of bastards, nothing happens at the end of the day. So u want to tell me if I am opportune to caught the guy I will wait for justice. U ve seen some evidence that our lawyers are been arrange for bribery, what happens to the poor that cannot bribe. The incidence happen in the village during August meeting, when I try to ask about the police, I was told to even forget about them that they have struggled to catch this guys in some of their operations, but when they reach police, the matter was taken to the court and video evidence was demanded, which makes the accuser to pay for damages. Too bad
