"Priviledged to be there to shine".

Mind u he was team captain before Mikel's inclusion.

Azubuike may jst b out of the national team now bc of the abundance of DMF options. When you have players like Onazi, Mikel and Ndidi. Remember also that Shehu Abdullahi is a DMF.

I wanted him to be at the next U20 WC. His game level is way above his age. People often forget he is just 19.

His Turkish club even blocked a move to Monaco because they are seeking promotion to the top division. Perhaps, we will be talking of him as a potential eagles player now.

It hard to do with get physical nature of the game. The game was too rough. Deschamps prepared his young men to go in hard on players.

The fact that Keshi had to change Azeez for Gabriel because Mikel yelled at him showed that Keshi was tactically deficient.

Players transfer: NFF celebrates N5bn earning

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has
expressed happiness over the landmark N5billion financial earning of Nigerian clubs from the transfer of players both from within the domestic fronts and the foreign leagues in the last 10 months.

The Manager, Transfer Matching System (TMS)
of the football federation, Nasir Jubril, who spoke
to journalists at the ongoing Domestic Transfer
Matching System (DTMS) workshop in Abuja,
explained that the figure represents what the
various clubs have received from the movement
of their players in the period under review.

“In the last 10 months that is between January
and October this year, a cash inflow of about N5
billion has accrued into coffers of the clubs in Nigeria from transfer of players. For instance, if a player is bought for say £2 or £3 million, when you convert that with the current exchange rate you can imagine what we are talking about. It is an attestation that Nigerian football is making serious progress,” he noted.

While explaining the importance of the workshop, Jubril said that it is aimed at fully educating the managers of the 20 Nigerian Premier League (NPL) clubs as well as the 32 others competing in the lower Nigerian National League (NNL).

He equally revealed that the world football
governing body, FIFA has now made it mandatory for every football player in the world to be registered by their federations, adding
that such has made the transfer of players either from one country to another or one club to the other less stressful.

If no bi Ighalo and Ideye wey dey fall hand who go even think of Kayode and Adi?

They gave reason to look for better strikers and you look around, Kayode and Adi are doing very well.

So, they deserve it.

Etebor dey play for better league na but I never wan hear Azubuike for now. grin
No Kayode and Adi are not playing in fancied leagues so they should be ignored by our Coaches, even though they have been oustanding in their various roles for Club. Abi no be so

You would rather we continue with Ideye and Ighalo, even if they do not score for Super Eagles as far as they are playing in the best leagues in the World, there is no problem.

Eagles donate to Echiejile, Akpeyi’s weddings

Players of the Super Eagles showed their
solidarity with two of their own, as they donated
over N1million to the upcoming weddings of
Elderson Echiejile and Daniel Akpeyi.

The players, who received N350, 000 each as
their camp allowance following the 3-1 win over
Algeria, but instead of going home with the entire sum, agreed to donate N50,000 each to Echiejile and Akpeyi, as their own contribution to the players’ weddings next month.

South Africa-based goalkeeper Akpeyi will walk
down the aisle with his bride on December 29 in
Abiriba, Abia State, while defender Echiejile, who
is on loan at Belgian club Standard Liege from
Monaco, will exchange vows the following day
being the 30th, in Warri, Delta State.

Both players were in action for the Super Eagles
as they dumped the Desert Foxes of Algeria 3-1
on Saturday in Uyo in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

They will be the latest Nigeria internationals to
walk down the aisle after midfielder Ogenyi Onazi, who got married earlier in the year.

That means players like Carl Ikeme, Sonne Aluko, and Shehu Abdullahi should forget the national team abi?

Show me which player in this current Rohr's squad that plays outside Europe or Africa.

I repeat: I WONDER HOW YOU ANALYSE YOUR OWN FOOTBALL.

I wonder how you analyse your own Football! grin

Necessity is the mother of invention. This is the case of Carl Ikeme or are you not aware? grin

I don't need to explain because you know.

Shehu Abdullahi case is different because we have better players playing in his position currently. How can you not understand that?

Sone Aluko plays for England second division which is even far better than Cypriot first division where Shehu Abdullahi plays. That is too low for the National team. Abeg.

Sone-aluko should continue to be the best in the Championship then he will get a call.

Currently, he is the best in the Championship and that alone will get him noticed....

Your analyses should be devoid of bias judgments.

SHEHU ABDULLAHI SHOULD FORGET THE NATIONAL TEAM JERSEY AND THEY SHOULD STOP GIVEN HIM A CALL.

you are talking about necessity but you fail to understand that Shehu is just there for two reasons, first he is a utility player, in every squad you need atleast 3-4 utility players, then we also do not have any right back so he is covering for that position as well. If we get a good RB then we can consider removing him but till then, his own is still a huge necessity

Oga Forgivess you totally not out of point. But you should know that we need to strike a balance on some of these stands.

Some players may not be in the best leagues, but still got a lot to offer.

Some players are full of promises even when the best leagues are yet to come for their services.

The key point here is what the player has got to offer.

If a player like Aaron Samuel was not called up, we would not have seen the other side of his game.
He was better than the more established Uche and Emenike.

ROHR TO AXE WATFORD STRIKER IGHALO,
KAYODE, OSIMHEN POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS

Ighalo

Watford striker Odion Ighalo has failed to impress Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr and he could
subsequently be replaced by younger strikers
Olanrewaju Kayode and Victor Osimhen in the
Super Eagles.

Team officials said Ighalo will be dropped
permanently from the Super Eagles as he has
scored just one goal after 11 weeks of action in
the Premier League in England, added to the fact that he has only scored one goal for the Super Eagles in a competitive match.

That goal came in a 2017 AFCON qualifier against Chad in Kaduna in June 2015.

If Kayode Olanrewaju, who has been prolific so far for Austria Wien in all competitions this season, and Victor Osimhen, who is soon to sign a professional deal with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg shine against Egypt in Dubai in a friendly in January, that could well spell the end of Ighalo’s time in the national team.

Rohr has already said he was so impressed with the performance of Osimhen in the build-up to the Tanzania match and will offer him another opportunity to show he is ready for the big stage.

“Rohr has not been impressed with the
performance of Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye,”
revealed a team official.

“Against Tanzania, Ighalo was wasteful and hardly had two shots on goal, while against Zambia, Ideye was full of endeavour, while others were scoring the goals. On both occasions it took the efforts of supporting strikers for the Eagles to claim maximum points.“

A disappointed Rohr will then consign both Ighalo and Ideye to the bench for the entire 90 minutes as the Super Eagles beat Algeria 3-1 in Uyo last weekend.

MANCHESTER CITY LOANEE NWAKALI, IFEANYI MATTHEW TO BE CONSIDERED FOR EAGLES FRIENDLY

Chidiebere Nwakali

Former Flying Eagles stars Chidiebere Nwakali and Ifeanyi Matthew are being considered for the Super Eagles friendly against Egypt in January.

A mix of untested foreign pros and players from the domestic league are expected to be involved in a January 9 friendly against Egypt in Dubai, officials disclosed.

Coach Gernot Rohr has already mentioned Austria Wien striker Olanrewanju Kayode as one of those who will be given a chance against Egypt, who will then be preparing for the AFCON in Gabon.

It has now been further gathered that Chidi
Nwakali, older brother of Arsenal’s Kelechi
Nwakali, as well as midfielder Ifeanyi Matthew are also in line for this test game.

Nwakali established himself at Norwegian IK Start on loan from Manchester City, while Ifeanyi
Matthew helped to ensure Lillestrom escaped
relegation in the top flight in Norway this past
season with some scintillating displays and goals.

Mikel Obi self think say em be coach. I swear, he disappoint me after learning he was the one that stopped Azeez from coming on. That is if what you said is true.

Technically, Azeez was the right choice. We need more fluidity to deal with the cagey pressure of the French players. Unfortunately, the French were not playing fair. So they were going to slaughter Azeez.

So the technical criticism is wrong. Technically and tactically, Keshi was very sound. Confirmed.

Mikel made the right call. We needed someone to battle the physical pressure and the referee was not helping matters. So your feigning injuries would not work because that would create an imbalance situation for the French to take advantage of.
