[size=28pt]it is not David Lawal Babachir business to pay Goodluck Jonathan or obasanjo or IBB etc.. Jonathan, Obasanjo, IBB, Gowon, Shagari were elected under the federal republic of Nigeria.. How can david lawal babachiar pay them money.

If David lawal babachir pay them any money, then he does not understand his job.

he has no business with them

IBB, Gowon, abacha work for the military. you think they were acting. NO.

i saw military men in blood been kill , during change of government.

goodluck jonathan, obasanjo never work for the federation.

Nigeria is not america,

Stupid, aimless and dumb government, no oil no work..the dumb idiot is in high search for oil in the north, so dumb I never see...wen other countries are advancing even without the so called oil just because their govt can think and be creative enough to find out what they can best produce to have a competitive advantage over others and thus gain foreign exchange from it and also making an environment where small businesses could strive...this govt is just so aimless with it thinking, bunch of old folks with oil all over their brains...

You see why Nigeria is not prepared to end corruption? People who hold important public positions are paid peanuts, and even the peanuts are never paid as and when due... And when they retire, the peanuts are not paid at all. Yet you don't want them to help themselves while in office? So that they would starve to death or crawl to your desk to beg you for crumbs while you feel important?

The case of my own father would forever be an example that rubbishes any call to integrity in public service in Nigeria. The pious old man worked in one of the juiciest government jobs in Nigeria and rose to a very senior position before he retired. Most of his colleagues including his juniors retired as billionaires or multi millionaires at the very least, while he retired with barely enough to feed for one year... Today, his perennial humiliation whenever he tries to collect his miserable and irregular pension is a sad, sad testimony about why only fools would fail to LOOT mercilessly while they have the opportunity.

The Nigerian society is not yet ready for honest men. The system is not structured to reward uprightness and probity. That's the fact. Until we do the right things to correct this anomaly, any talk about fighting corruption would amount to a spectacular waste of time.

Very soon you will find some Transparency Local self-ordained officials from the SW trying to preach to you.

The country does not reward honesty.

Although everything should be done in moderation and it is important to work assiduously; but I don't understand why people like your father and mine just choose to be "unwise" waiting for God or some NGO or whoever to congratulate them for always been upright.

Maybe in the US, and in Europe, they'd head departments and have rooms full with plaques. But this is Nigeria. You bribe to do everything (abi is bribing someone not wrong) and then choose to be always upright. I don't really understand.

The same companies abroad that don't budget money for bribing in the home country make expansive budgets for same when they come to Nigeria. They understand the terrain and act accordingly.

It's a pity. And very sad.

That is my President. I am with you for ever. How can ex-looters be paid when there are no drugs at the hospitals, when Universities lecturers are on strike, when several states have not paid workers. The ex-presidents brought Nigeria to this sorry state through looting of our resources, so they do not deserve to be paid until all workers are paid.

During Jonathan's regime, the ex-looters were paid first before workers. Universities workers were on strike for about a year, several states owed workers for several months, roads were and are still very bad but ex-looters were paid as at when due and Mama Piss accounts in several banks were funded regularly.

So, dear ex-presidents who have several properties and companies all over the world from Panama to Europe, from Asia to America, please continue spending from your looted funds until the economic situation improves. I stand with Buhari, where do you stand?

Buhari's government may more often than not, seem to and truly act clueless but I dont understand the comparison here. As per the past leaders in the thread title, are you saying they were pious men who failed to LOOT mercilessly when they had the opportunity? Are you saying that they ALL paid your dad's entitlements regularly?

Although it's evident that there are different topics of discussion on this issue, I think the point is being missed here. In my opinion, it could either be seen as the government being short of funds or as the government not placing this payment so high on it's priorities list. And probably wondering what the past administrations were thinking when they signed off on it.

The point is that, assuming Jonathan and the past leaders were pious men who failed to loot, what would happen to them now? Where would they get money for their upkeep and sundry expenses? Would they not be going cap in hand to beg for crumbs from the government and government officials? Where is the encouragement there or the example there for current people in government to be honest? There are clear parallels to be drawn.
