Hello house, som1 was denied visa yesterday, cuz she was going with her two children without her busy husband who has a visa already. The reason for denial was that no strong ties. She wants to reapply, this time maybe with only the 5mths daughter. Leaving the 2yrs old 1.so does that proove enough ties? Thank u.

She will abandon a 2yr old baby which proves how desperate she is to get a visa.
What is so important in the visit that she can abandon a very young child?

The visa officer will wonder what she really wants to do and suspect immigration or overstay.

Hello everyone,

I have been a silent reader of nairaland for about a month and some weeks now,but unfortunately i came across the website few days after i had filled and submitted mine and my wife's DS-160.I scheduled our appointment interview for the 17th of November 2016,but i made sure i read almost all the transcripts here that involved the B1/B2 visa interviews,i read it all over and over again for more than a month, and asked myself and my wife a lot of likely questions and i must say i really learnt a lot,and that gave me a bit of a confidence and since this has helped me,i decided also to write out our transcripts and experience, even though it did not last for more than 1 min,and hopefully i hope it helps a lot of people preparing for their interviews also,it was a 7am appointment here at lagos Embassy,we also did not bother to listen to the touts talking us into making copies of our international passports, which is totally irrelevant,we finally got into the hall and got our biometrics done and queued up,the hall was a bit noisy as well, but myself and my wife kept calm and just wanted to have our interview and get done with it.I remember i told my wife not to bother herself listening to anyone's interview,i read severally on this thread about people avoiding to go to a particular cubicle, but i did not really care about that,we were ready to go to whichever cubicle, finally we got called and it was a lady that interviewed us and it goes as follows..

VO-Good morning
Me-Hello,Good morning
Wifey-Good morning.
VO-Says Good morning to my wife again.
VO-Your passports please(I handed her our Passports including my old Passport)
VO-Are you two Married
Me-Yes,we are married(My wife's Passport still has her maiden name)
VO-Why are you going to the United States.
Me-Myself and my Wife, are going for our annual Vacation.
VO-Okay,and she was typing and looking at her Screen.
VO-Where in the United states are you going to?
Me-New Jersey,Carteret Precisely
VO-Okay,do you know anyone there?
Me-No we do not,we have our accommodation booked, and i mentioned the name of the hotel in New Jersey.
VO-Okay
VO-What do you do?
Me-I am an Engineer,a mechanical Engineer and i work with so and so company, but i also happen to be one of the directors of the company.
VO-What kind of Company is it
Me-It's an Engineering company and i mentioned the name of the company again...
VO-What are your duties there?
Me-Well like i said earlier,i am a mechanical Engineer and one of the directors of the company, but i also work majorly supervising every mechanical works on our some of our construction sites, basically plumbing, installations of pipes and all and the VO cuts in
VO-Turns to my wife,What do you do?
Wifey-I am a banker and i work in so and so bank and she also stated her position at work
VO-What are your duties
Wifey-I support technical blah blah for my banks e channels blah blah
VO-Have you travelled out of the country and where?
Wifey-Yes,to United Arab Emirates,Kenya and VO cuts in..
VO-Have you travelled before and where?
Me-Yes i have, and i mentioned Kenya,United Arab Emirates,South Africa and some of those countries more than once.
VO-Okay,do you have children
Me-Not yet
VO-How long do you plan to stay?
Me-21nights(which is what i booked for our hotel)
VO-Okay,are you going to be seeking a medical care in the United states.
Me-Not at all
VO-Okay,and she keeps typing and looking at her screen, and i saw her take our passports off the table and hands us a white paper to come for our Visas after 3 working days.
Me and wifey-Thank you.

Note:This long transcripts only lasted for about a minute or less,i was confident and answered all of the questions asked honestly and confidently and so did my wife.I did not over dress, just a white shirt on a jean and i rolled up my sleeve, wifey was also on work cloth,no salary asked, even though i did not input my salary or wifeys salary on the form.It was just so short and i want to say thank you to everyone that has shared their transcripts one way or the other and everyone that has worked so hard to put this forum together, you will never know how much this has helped us.The only thing i can say is this was God's favor, that is all i can say,i prepared and over prepared for questions that i might be asked, but God surprised us.God bless everyone and good luck to everyone in their respective interviews, just go for your interviews knowing God's favor is upon your life and also go prepared and lastly, carefully fill out your DS 160 form,i think it counts a lot.

Tdolz:
How do you mean going online? Going as a family is good, how will you sponsor of trip? How much do you earn? earn? earn? Family you are going to visit citizens? U strong ties wat do u do? How much you earn
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by OgeChukwuO: 6:44am On Nov 20, 2016
Now this is a serious and sincere answer. Thanks a lot.
I wanted to cut corners. Lol. Will do. Thanks
LadyGuinivere:

Azzin eh. Lol

@OP you areasking the wrong questions. And until you invest some time reading and learning will you aappreciate my point.
You do NOT PROVE ties. Nbody asks you to prove or show proof of anything in your application. What the embassy considers as ties has been discussed over and over here. I won't spam the thread with it again.
If the vo goes through your ds 160 and is satisfied with your answers, you will get a visa.
The essence of this thread is for you to go through the Transcripts and then tell yourself if you believe you should apply. Also you pick up interview tips and form filling help.
Spend two days at least going through this thread. After that you willl get a better understanding of how the process works.
Good luck

Hello Everyone,

I'd like to know how much $ is enough to carry so as not to have issues at POE.

I'm going for a 3 weeks Training and round -trip ticket has been booked already. Accommodation too has been sorted.

Although I'd be carrying a debit Card, I'll like to know how much Cash to have on me.

All the people asking how much minimum they can carry.
The answer is that nobody can tell you the minimum to carry. You the traveller, check
Your purpose
Your lenght of stay
Where you will stay, hotel or a home
Feeding
Etc
Add all that and know what is reasonable to answer a vo if he asks you to justify the amount you are carrying.
So all the ops do the math...

Good day house, my b1/b2 visa was approved in August, I supposed travelled in Oct 12-19 for church program according to what I filled in my application but I couldn't make the trip because I had to travelled to Europe to see my thesis supervisor because it was urgent. Now I want to travel to usa in December for vacation and my church harvest Sunday, I'm spending 10days , my POE is the same as in my application. My question is hope I won't have any problem at Poe because I didn't travel when I suppose would have travelled in oct, secondly in my application I supposed to spend 7days but now I'm intending to spend 10days, Thirdly my friend sister, gave me food stuff to deliver to her sis, hope I won't have problem with the food stuff at Poe. Thank you.

If you have a good reason for missing your intended date of travel explain it to the officers at the POE... Secondly they normally stamp you in for 6 months so spending 10 days is okay.... This is your first time I will advise you against carrying anything... it's unnecessary.

You may carry the approved foods
For example, vegetables have to be cut and if possible dried, fish can't be fresh, must be roasted. No seeds or anything that can be replanted so egust and ogbono have to be ground and so on and so forth
For a comprehensive list of approved food items, check the US cbp site on google.
NB: do not forget to declare the items you are carrying on your landing card

Yes sure they can send you invitation but the issue is they hardly ask to see the letter of invitation and it hold little or no weight... about the other question.. This is not the thread for it.
