Hello Guys, Kindly weigh in on my situation here. I've been a silent reader on this thread and other travel threads as well. I must admit that there's a wealth of information buried in this section. Thanks to all those who have contributed to this. Here's my situation: I'm interested in pursuing a Masters degree in the US. I actually refused to do this in Nigeria since cos I've always wanted to experience education outside Nigeria. I strongly feel the time is right for me to do so now. I'm in my late 20s with over 4 years work experience in communications. I have my degree in English Language with a 2.2 GPA coupled with additional qualifications in PR and Advertising. I've contacted a couple of schools who are willing to offer me admission. University of Southern Mississippi is willing to offer me a provisional admission (in Public Relations & Advertising which is where my passion lies) and I have to take GRE due to my CGPA. The other, Southern New Hampshire University offers me MBA (which is less relevant to my career in my opinion) does not require GRE or any other additional tests. My dilemma is not being able to settle for one due to some circumstances. I have friends in SNHU and are encouraging me to come over, saying admission process is relatively easy there. USM however offers me what I need albeit with a little stress. Whichever I choose though, I have no problem defending my choice of program at the visa interview but I'd want to avoid needless grilling by the VO as much as possible. The other dilemma is sponsor. I don't quite understand how the statement of account thing works. I have a maternal Uncle who's willing to sponsor but we don't share the same surname. I'm aware this may raise concerns at the visa interview so I'm not too keen on it. I intend to save up a large chunk of my salary for the program. 1. Is it advisable to present such savings account where money is solely lodged for the program? Will it be considered cash lodgement? 2. Do I have to back it up with a sponsor's account? 3. Can I have my Uncle run transactions through my account to enable me build up credibility? 4. Or do I just go with him as sponsor, even as an adult with 4 years work experience and earning a comfortable salary? 5. If I go with his sponsorship, do I still have to present my own statement? 6. If I settle for the MBA, can I change my course and school when I arrive US? NB: I currently hold a B1/B2 visa and recently returned from a 3 weeks vacation in the US I await your kind responses Thanks |

This is it: Let's assume you keep your money with me, you had 7332 with me (opening), you then kept another 7.25m with me during the course of the period (credit) leaving all you have with me to be (7.25m + 7332).Thereafter you needed your money and collected 7250208 (debit). So what you'll have left with me 7124 (closing balance). Basically the 7.25m went in and out with an extra 208 leaving your closing balance lesser than the opening balance by that 208. Me in this case is your bank. Teedawg: 2 Likes |

NoobSaibot1:All of you are silent readers till wahala start !! then you start looking for Prophet shey?........lol 1. provided the money is not deposited at once and shows cash flow for like six months and exceeds your I20 amount. 2.The better Bro!! 3.Yes!! apply wisdom sha 4.Going with him is also okay. Most importantly let the cash be enough for you uncle to feed his family after sponsoring you with millions get? 5. it helps but a sponsor is okay. 6. that depends on your school's policies ask your friends. about the B1/B2 i think i can still fly... but pls confirm from the gurus |

Visa approved today 7:30am appointment at abuja embassy. i was scared like hell when i woke up, i went to a solitary and i prayed, confidence regained. on getting to the embassy the queue was long mehn... fast forward, we entered the interview room, did normal paparazzi (biometeric). i saw a lots of yellow paper flying helter skelter, lots of people with sad face, then i prayed again silently "baba jo mama je n pada wa to si bi bayi mo fun visa" Transcript proper We said Good morning simultaneously, i didn't want him to greet me first. VO: why are going to the US? Me: to congratulate the president elect donald J trump. LOL just kidding to pursue my masters of science in operations and project management at the SNHU after which i will be coming back to Nigeria to return to my job in an elevated position as a senior project manager, as i am on study leave. VO: where do you work? Me: i work with BAnBAta Nigeria limited (not real name) as a quantity surveyor and project manager, banbata nigeria limited is a construction and project management firm. VO: How did you come about the school? Me: my friend elder bro who is an alumnus of the school informed of the numerous opportunity that the school offer such as internship palcement, research grant, i also check online critically to know more about the school, and i realised that 60% of the program curriculum consist of the area where i need to improve myself and the tuition is affordable. VO: how many school did you applied to ? Me: 3 VO; named them Me: Arizona state university, university of arkansas at little rock and southern new hamsphire university VO: why didnt you choose arizona state university Me: i didnt research well when i applied to the school, i did extensively research again and i realised that the curriculum doesnt align with my career goals. VO: Tell more about this course? Me: the course is approximately 19 months and have got to complete 36 credits units before graduation in courses like.... i listed the courses(i mentioned like 10) the VO was just nodding, i also maintained eye contact naso he cut me o said ok VO: have you been outside the country before? Me: No, i have no tangible reason to leave niger... naso he cut, vias approved at this point, i didnt hear anything again i was in the state of euphoria, it was as if my whole body was in the air. No document asked (financial document and test score) thanks to texrem for the sevis fee and mock interview, out of his busy schedule he created time for me, we were on phone yesterday, we talked extensively on the interview and same with walspring yesterday. Hello Everyone, I just received an admission to study for a Masters programme in the USA. I have received half-funding from the school through the Professor that will supervise my research and I am looking for another 28000 dollars to present as proof. So I want to ask a few questions What do you guys think of using my family friend who has a company s as my sponsor using his company account or private account? I have an Uncle in the USA who earns not more than 7000 dollars a month. Do you think the guy can stand in as a sponsor for me? Lastly, can I use the account balance of my parents business accounts in applying for the visa? Lastly, una sabi guys weh go help me run the sponsorship matter? Thanks. |
