Obasanjo was there

Yaradua was there

Jonathan was there

So why is Buhari creating divisions in the country

Well, Buhari should involve SE the more.. I don't think his advisers tell him how nerves are hot over there.

But any loan without national spread is DOA..

We should be careful about writing letters because very soon, International organization and countries will see us as jokers.

Your nigeria is a huge joke.
Google "nigeria is dead" and have a cursory look at the google image of the search.
Seen the video of that child/teenager lynched in one of your cities, for allegedly stealing food, whilst many including kids watch in excitement? That video has gone viral in international media, showing how barbaric and behind in civilization your country is.

Could you explain what Mr. Buhari and his team understand about Economics, considering they have been offering Political solutions to Economic problems for 18 months now.

I was gonna just "spread my mat" , lie down and sleep this one off, but it seems that we have a lot of ignorant people here. Please let me explain like you are five years old.

Most governments in the world take debt. They use this debt to strengthen ties with world powers(US, China, Germany, the Rome Club, IMF etc), build infrastructure, fund social and Healthcare projects, etc. Now president Buhari is trying to get this fund on the presumption that the oil industry will rise again. It may not reach previously recorded highs, but it will certainly reach mid 80s according to oil industry analysts. The loan will be based on the current oil price as at when applied for ,not when approved. So he is hoping we can offset our interests, pay off the loan, build good networking tools to attract more investment. Let us exercise a bit of patience (Jonathan) lol.
Happy Sunday guys

Like if you're having Jollof rice for lunch today

I believe it would have been wise to rather sleep this one off on that your cosy mat.

Firstly, how can we save money based on the income from this current oil price to later pay back this huge loan when it is not even enough to satisfy our needs as a nation?

Secondly, do you think Buhari will still be alive or in power to manage this huge debt that he is about to incur in the next 15 years when oil price will appreciate as you predicted?

Finally, it baffles me how you can't see that the world is gradually deviating from dependence on our main national treasure (crude oil) and how you can't analyse as to why this government wants a loan that is less than the money recovered or saved up as claimed.

My brother, this government is so full of lies that we shouldn't allow this loan to happen under any circumstance especially when it is we that will be alive to suffer the headache when all those old men won't be here in 30years time.

obviously you missed my points

every govt in power takes loan to execute it's project for the benefit of its people cut across the nation, fast forward to buhari's administration some sections of the country are excluded to benefit from the loan hence there are disquiet and delays in accessing the loan

I believe in your country you celebrate when a terrorist is killed. first APC said they recovered $90cash from former minister, you people swallowed it hook-line-and-sinker, no one challenged that assertion. They should come out and tell us that they lied to us. secondly let me educate you, the highest natural gas deposit in Nigeria is in Southeast. make your research. thirdly, even the most poorest state in the country takes part in the repayment of the loan with the interest, the last time I checked, no southeastern state is the poorest state in Nigeria.

You are a big for nothing fool. Why can't you tell yourself the truth for once? Why are you and your co conspirators bent on suppressing the south east? A govt that calls itself federal outrightly demonstrated its hate for a particular section of itself through directional anti East policies, uninclusive governance, fabrication of lies against a people and direct attack on their leaders and you're happy because it looks like it's favouring your demonic agenders. Your buhari is a colossal failure but due to your hate for the Igbos, you have accepted to go down the drainage with that useless daura illiterate you voted as your president.

If an Igbo becomes president, and goes for a loan, and refuse to cite any of the projects in the north...the loan should be turned down...Also, no Igbo man who is a president will go for a loan without having done, a thorough paper work...Unlike you Daura general...who should be minding his cows...

It's even better when they don't develop the SE with the loan so when hopefully Biafra leaves the Zoo, They won't have any debt to pay back but only Arewa and Opc boys will have to farm, sell cows and go into fishing to pay back. Oh Lagos has oil so they can start paying back alone.

Very true angry
mesoprogress:

“You may recall,” the Centre emphasised, “that earlier this year, the subsidy on petroleum products was removed by this government, leading to high cost of petroleum products and increased suffering and poverty among the people. It was argued by the government that moneys saved from the subsidy removal will be applied to the development of infrastructure. At this point in time, the people of Nigeria have neither received accountability on the revenues accrued from oil subsidy removal nor seen infrastructure developed as a consequence. It is ridiculous that the same government would turn around to seek a facility for the same purpose for which it removed the oil subsidies earlier this year.
