A Malaysia based entrepreneur and a former TC Chairman of the old Aba LGA Chief Ndukwe Kalu has blasted the FG over persistent DSS attacks on the popular News platform, IgbereTVNews.com.


Following the arrest of IGBERE TV Director Emeh James Anyalekwa in October, igberetvnews.com has been under persistent cyber bombardments with attacks ranging from daemon script to DDOS and many others.

Many of igberetvnews readers are complaining that they can not access the site nor share post effectively again as links from igbereTVNews.com have been blocked.

“We’ve checked extensively and there are no technical problems on our side except issues that arise out of these attacks,” Igberetv CEO said .


Also Reacting to this ugly development, Ndukwe Kalu, a Malaysia based entrepreneur and a former TC Chairman of the old Aba LGA condemned the incessant attacks on IGBERE TV by agents of the government saying that this is uncalled for as Nigeria is still under democracy which allows for free expression of divergent views.

He described it as another manifestation of the dictatorial tendencies of the present administration.

“ Igberetv is a community news platform meant to serve millions of Nigeria, I don’t see why the DSS will resolve in attacking the website, even after invading into the residence of Mr Anyalekwa.”

“To the best of my knowledge, Igbere TV is a law abiding media platform; they should be allowed to carry out their legitimate function without unnecessary encumbrances.”

“In this age of Social media, the government should understand that intimidation is no longer effective to stop criticisms.”

Kalu concluded by advising the government to respect the rights of her citizens and the freedom of press as enshrine in Nigeria constitution.
